Today sees the launch of not one, but two new SUV all terrain, all-wheel-drive tyres. Hankook has introduced the Dynapro HPX, while Bridgestone has launched the Dueler A/T Ascent and while they're both in similar segments, they're actually quite different products.

Hankook Dynapro HPX

The Dynapro HPX is Hankook's latest summer tyre for SUVs and all-wheel-drive vehicles. Bridgestone's new all-terrain tyre, the Dueler A/T Ascent, is designed for luxury and high-trim 4x4 trucks and SUVs. It covers a size range from 17 to 22 inches, with 35 available fitments. This tyre marks a milestone for Bridgestone as their first all-terrain tyre featuring the company's ENLITEN technology.

The Dueler A/T Ascent's tread design incorporates full-depth, interlocking 3D sipes for improved traction in wet conditions, snow, and off-road terrain. Its winter performance credentials are bolstered by a 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake certification. Durability is a key feature, with Bridgestone backing the tyre with a 60,000-mile limited warranty. The Dueler A/T Ascent is now available for purchase.

Comparison and Market Position

While both tyres target the SUV market, they cater to different needs. The Dynapro HPX is primarily designed for on-road use with a focus on improved wet performance, whereas the Dueler A/T Ascent offers all-terrain capability with both on- and off-road performance.
