After about 3 1/2 months of daily driving back and forth to school a total of may be 6000 miles the tires have a lot of tread left but they are in need of replacement. Don't understand. Visual inspection shows much tread left but the tires are producing horrible feedback. Poorly designed. Not good to wear down too low or you're better off riding on the rim. I have what my mechanic believed to be at least 4000 miles left of tread but these poorly designed tires need to be replaced like yesterday.

Bought these 215/55R16 97V Accelera Alphas as a cheap option when I had to unexpectedly replace both front drive-wheel tyres due to damage. I've been pleasantly surprised by their performance; they gave absolutely no problems and they lasted well for a mixture of 40:30:30 urban:rural:motorway driving - now need replacing after about 18k miles, which I think is reasonable.

I bought my car with these fitted with the idea that I'd wear them out quickly and buy something better. Their performance so far is exactly what I had expected and in line with their price.

Dry grip is fine and my car can be driven up to its limits with driver aids off and the car breaks away fairly progressively, although the tyres do squeal somewhat where other manufacturers tyres don't.

Wet grip is where things fall apart. I have a BMW 120D with the latest Pirellis on, which are 3cm narrower and an inch smaller in diameter and they grip far, far harder in the wet than the larger Accelera tyres on my Z4. Yes, the tyres are cheap and they will work as tyres do, but if you're ever in the position where someone pulls out in front of you in the wet and you need to hit the brakes hard, you'd be sorry that you didn't spend the extra on premium tyres.

As for the ride, they're ok, but they don't feel perfectly round in the way that Michelins do and therefore they sometimes give some odd shimmies through the steering wheel.

Went from Pirellis to Continentals and got about 5-7,000 miles out of them, at ~£190 a corner, The Acceleras come in just under £80 each and been up and down country lanes, round circuits and to France and back ~9,000 and are only just ready to be replaced.

A perfectly good tyre in the grand scheme of things, but a fantastic tyre for the money.

wheel spin from junctions in wet but car has bags of torque so maybe
my lead foot no issues with aqua planing inspires confidence and
lets face it none of us are the Stig drive too fast around any bend in bad
conditions and you are going to cop a gob full of Tree!!

I DRIVE ALL OVER MY AREA INCLUDING FARM TRACK ROADS IN ALL WEATHER SNOW RAIN SUN IN AND AROUND GLASGOW ,THESE TYRES ARE UP TO THE JOB AND AT ONLY £52 PER CORNER COMPARED TO £150 for abranded tyre CHEERS TO JIM AT PAISLEY TYRE AND EXHAUST CENTRE.

Have Accelera Alpha tyres 205/60 R15. Their the best hard wearing tyres Ive ever got. I do about 15k miles a year and the rear tyres barely wear at all and have had the rears on for over 4 years. I'm getting a pair of new ones for the front.

Deadly in the wet. Never buy again!!!

Yes, if you drive like a idiot and have a car with a numb chassis, then you will spin out on every corner in the wet. But if you drive well without exceeding the laws of physics whilst still making good progress, these tyres are fine.

Had them on my completely standard Prelude 2.3 and have had no issues, I have just ordered a pair for the back too.

I have had Yokos, F1's, P-Zero's and lots more brands and I haven't noticed the difference in the dry and I don't push my cars in the wet as the wet is unpredictable whatever tyres you have on - I realised this after I crashed an older car on a wet road whilst I had Eagle F1's on.

So, all in all if you are a decent driver who can apply common sense and can drive within your limits and that of the road conditions these tyres will suit you (and your wallet) fine.

Just ignore all the "i ragged my car on the nurburgring in the wet in my Corsa and they didn't handle as well as my old Pirelli's did, in fact I crashed and almost died!" type comments.

I have been reading all the reviews and thought i would add my comments. i have these tyres on the front of my BMW 745i. The car is driven mostly on the motorway and i must admit they are slightly louder on some road surfaces but no way intrusive. Living in Britain its mostly been wet driving and the tyres are ok but prone to aquaplaning when the water is lying on the motorway. I think if you are losing control of your car then its down to how you drive rather the quality grip afforded by the tyres. If you know the tyres are not the best then adjust your driving style to be safe. the fronts need replaced soon so i will certainly be buying a new set and would have no problem in putting them on the back.

useless in the wet dangerously slippery on the rear,other than that great lasting everyday tire value priced.
