Bridgestone Turanza 6
WatchThe Bridgestone Turanza 6 is a comfort-focused touring tyre that majors on refinement, efficiency and wet-weather security. Drivers consistently praise its quietness, supple ride and confident behaviour in heavy rain, while tests back up its class-leading rolling resistance and strong aquaplaning resistance. Where it's less convincing is ultimate grip and braking performance when pushed, particularly in test-measured wet braking and in outright dry grip compared with the best in class.

Questions and Answers for the Bridgestone Turanza 6
Ask a questionThanks for the very good tire testing and the nice overview. Any explanation to the low score on Handling for the Bridgestone Turanza 6 when it had such good scores besides that?
Does the turanza 6 have a rim guard? Can I run them on the front while I have potenzas on the back?

You can run them on the front with Potenzas on the back but you might find the steering response to be slower than you're used to.
Are Turunza 6 star rated. ie for BMW
Pretty similar tread design tyre (Bridgestone Turanza 6) compared the the older Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2, isn’t it? What do you think about the comparison between the two?
My ideal tyres give a comfortable ride, i.e. they absorb small road irregularities without transmitting vibration to the car. They should also be quiet and have low rolling resistance for good fuel efficiency. As for the other properties of the tyres, I really don’t care as long as they’re not dangerous! Car is a Mercedes E Class W213. I’ve watched lots of your excellent videos and read the reviews. These Bridgestone Turanza 6 tyres seem like a good match. Do you agree or would you recommend anything else?
A few days ago I bought four 225 45 17 94 y xl for my golf 8. These tires are very hard, there is no comfort, the car shakes a lot, has anyone experienced this?
Hi. I’m looking for a soft ride quality in a VW Virtus which is stiffly sprung. Available options in size are Bridgestone Turanza 6, Turanza T001, Continental UC6, Yokohama Bluearth Gt max, Apollo Alnac 4g. Pick top 3 for comfortable ride. Thanks
I need to change my front tyres which are T005 is the T6 the successor? If so would they work together with T5 in front T6 at the back? Mind you keeping in mind the tear and wear should got with a different brand all together. What would be a recommendation for Mazda CX30?

Review Summary
Based on 44 user reviews
Most drivers rate the Bridgestone Turanza 6 highly for its excellent wet grip and braking, very low noise levels, comfortable ride, and improved fuel economy, often noting strong aquaplaning resistance and confidence in heavy rain. Dry grip is generally good for a touring tyre, but the softer sidewalls can make steering feel less precise, with some reports of floatiness, understeer, and reduced feedback at higher speeds. A minority mention faster or uneven wear and occasional noise increase over time, but these are not dominant trends. Overall, the Turanza 6 suits drivers prioritizing comfort, quietness, and wet-weather security over sporty handling feel.
Strengths
- Wet grip and braking
- Ride comfort
- Low noise/quiet cabin
- Aquaplaning resistance
- Fuel efficiency/low rolling resistance
- Overall confidence in rain
Areas for Improvement
- Soft sidewalls reduce steering precision/feedback at higher speeds
- Understeer/less responsive handling when pushed
Top 3 Bridgestone Turanza 6 Reviews
Just finished a Prague -> Berlin trip under awful weather and the car felt planted at all times with no sign of instability. Keep in mind I don't drive very fast nor "spirited" so mostly highway within regulations.
I can't provide any wear details because it's too early. I also switch between summer/winter sets, so they're likely to last me a long time. Most likely, they'll expire before I actually wear them down.
Latest Bridgestone Turanza 6 Reviews
Comfort - 10/10.. probably the quietest and comfy tyres money can get
Road feedback - 5/10 - good at low speeds, a bit all over the place at high speeds
Handling - 5/10 - good feedback at low speeds.
Understeering and quite unstable at high speeds. Tramlining also an issue.
Longevity - can’t comment yet but they should be able to last 30k miles.
Fuel consumption - user reporting better fuel consumption - didn’t notice any improvements
Cornering and lateral grip amazing for a 4X4.
So comfortable and noise levels that low that most passengers fall asleep!!!
Sidewalls are softer, but that’s to be expected with a touring tire.
Noticeable difference in fuel economy.
Real sense of confidence and comfort when driving, over the budget tires they replaced.
I do well in excess of 50k on rural difficult roads with little off roads, much of it towing up to the national legal road limit of 7.5tons @ 80kph.
On one trip of over 1200km non stop, so impressed was my passenger with the drive ability, that he insisted on getting behind the wheel. He couldn’t believe the responsiveness of the steering wheel.
I have no interest in driving excessively/sporty, beyond the legal limits, etc, so I can’t comment on the dynamic limitations of the tires.
I believe they are good value for money relative to other competitors in the same tire size, but tire wear is the big unknown. Completed about about 15-20k on these tires since new before switching to winter tires, and looking forward to temperatures rising again.
Sharpness of steering wheel is acceptable. Obviously lesser than the Giti Sport S2, but definitely not as muted / dead as some reviewers put it.
The quietness of the tyres are amazing, and very very quiet on smooth and fresh tarmac. It is also much better than UHPs on rougher tarmac.
The rolling resistance is also very noticeably lower than typical UHPs (I draw comparison to Michelin PS4, Goodyear F1A6, Giti Sport S2).
The softer sidewalls also mean a more comfortable ride. While it does affect cornering, with a bit more roll, it is not that bad for its intent as a touring tyre.

I have no other references on this Arona FR (My previous car an Ibiza TSi 95 was used with an array of different tyres which I liked the Hankook VP4's best on)
Basically its somewhat similar to my Ibiza despite the higher position and heavier body. I have no complaints with the Turanza 6 (Enliten) I don't know how the wear will pan out but I don't do big mileages so thats fine. So - specific test roundabouts and corners prove it to be a decent tyre and I feel safe with them - similarly cornering and braking in the wet feels planted and safe. In fact the whole handling is comparable with my more standard Ibiza with 195/55/16's...So the Turanza 6 is no slouch - but I am sure some other makes may be slightly better in some ways...I will therfor probably experiment on my next change and possibly try the VP4's on it..But will check here to see what looks good first
Dangerous in higher speeds
I've had steering / suspension checked and they are all fine but the car still feels unstable (yes, pressures and tyre balance are correct) and the steering is heavy and vague.
I'm really disappointed with these tyres as they feel and drive much worse than my end of life Kumho EcoWings which they replaced.
As soon as I can afford to I'll be changing them for something else, I'll probably try Michelin next.
I'd advise others to think carefully before buying these and maybe try and find a review from a user with a similar vehicle to get an idea how they would be on their vehicle.
However, there is one drawback: during a heavy rain, the tires struggled with aquaplaning on water-heavy roads. When driving through deep water or in corners with excessive water, my steering wheel tends to shift left or right, which affects confidence in very wet conditions. Additionally, the tires are softer, and I notice a bit of the soft feel when driving over speed bumps.
Overall, I think these are good tires, offering good performance and comfort, but they might have some limitations in extreme wet conditions.
Dry grip is excellent.
Wet grip is excellent.
There is no sign of wear.
Comfort is excellent.
Consumption is low but higher compared to Turanza 5.
I had, prior to this set, Turanza 5 set. My consumption on open road was as low as 4,1 l/100km.
