185/60 R16 Tyre Review Highlights
Writing about the Michelin CrossClimate 3

These are great tyres! I'm using them in the UK (Midlands) as my 'winter' set for a RWD small electric hatchback - the Honda e is no stranger to losing traction at the back if you're enthusiastic enough with the pedal... But the CC3s (staggered setup) have been wonderful at coping.
I took these out in the snow last week (at the time of writing) and with traction control off, you could have plenty of fun but with a gentle right foot and traction control enabled, the snow/slush was no issue at all, no squirming or complaining whatsoever. Super reassuring set of tyres, especially after seeing others struggling with summer tyres on. I found 3 steep roads to drive down and back up and the car / tyres had no issues at all getting me safely down and back up again. I've exclusively driven for 10 years on summers... (sorry!) so I was amazed by how much difference some new shoes would make on a car. With 1500 miles on them I can't comment on wear yet. I can however comment on the comfort (absolutely fine), noise levels (quieter than my Michelin PS4s) and the efficiency – which is vital on EVs – has been great! Much better than the larger 17" PS4s in the summer and better than the outgoing Yokohama BluEarth (AE50?) which came stock on the Honda.

These are just a really anaverage dry tyre.
BUT IN THE WET THEY ARE A DEATH TRAP, THESE TYRES ARE SO DANGEROUS IN THE WET THAT THEY SHOULD BE WITHDRAWN FROM SALE AND ALL SOLD TYRES NEED TO BE RECALLED AND REFUNDED.
Do not trust your lives to these tyres....

Third review after about 3000km, tested today on both fresh and compact snow, even on ice. Climbs, descents, tight curves, nothing complicated, the tire simply makes you drive as if you were on dry. Even on ice, uphill and downhill the car never had any difficulty, except on one climb where I had to deactivate the traction control, after which I immediately went up. On wet, already at 9-10 degrees the tire is excellent, but with temperatures of 4-5 degrees and sleet with wet asphalt, the car goes even better, even driving aggressively, the tire simply keeps you glued to the asphalt, incredible

After 600km, the car on dry maintains an excellent driving feeling and excellent grip, very precise and direct steering despite being thermal. But on wet... These tires are something spectacular, never tried tires like this before on any car tested. On smooth and very wet asphalt, with temperatures of 9-10°c, the car enters the curve at high speeds without ever losing grip, never feeling the tire at the limit. Tried to brake from 80kmh to 0, not even the ABS came in, the car is simply stuck to the ground despite the very cold, slippery and wet surface. I don't know how else to describe these tires, they are perfect.

Mounted today, they replace the factory Toyo Pxs R55A summer tyres for the winter. Obviously I didn't push them to the limit, I drove very carefully and smoothly, I can only say that the car became slightly noisier, which is quite normal for thermals, but the steering didn't seem to have become much more "empty" compared to the summer ones, in fact, it was very direct even on the centre. Always choose premium tyres, it's worth it. I will update my review soon.

Handling on wet is great, they have a slight noise to them, very slight tho. We have them for a year now and after over 12 000 km they still look like new, there was no considerable expenditure on the threads.

Writing about the Maxxis Mecotra ME3

They are fitted to a mk3 clio 1.4.
They are an alright tyre in the dry, reasonably quiet, comfy and have decent grip in the dry. However, anything other than dry they are terrible. Fitted to a 100hp car and it still lights up the tyres in 2nd at a reasonable rpm in the wet. I've never had any tyres do this in such a low hp car. When cornering, they are predictable in the wet and dry which is a plus for me. All 4 tyres currently have 5mm so wear is quite good.
I know its a summer tyre, but they significantly lose grip in sub 0 temps where as my older tyres, dunlop sp sport 01 retained a lot more grip in less than ideal conditions.

Covered about 20,000 miles on these and they still have loads of tread left. I have had them all continuously through winter and summer alike.
Quieter than the OEM Dunlops although a 5-10% penalty at the pumps.

I changed the originals Hankook K415 with the Energy XM2, and I found they have the same behavior than the K415, and have the same noise.
Now that use Michelin, I realize how excellent are the Hankook tyres, and they costs 30% less than the Michelins.
I mean the Michelin tyres are a mith.
