Falken FK452 Reviews - Page 3

Great tyres. A good alternative to the Dunlop SportMaxxs that came on my car. Only downside is where the Dunlops gave me 18k on the fronts, the falkens gave me 14k.

Analysing the cost, with fitting, the Dunlops only cost 6 quid more per 10k for a set of fronts. So its a hard choice to pick the one over the other.

Given 87% while driving a Audi TT (225/45 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 2,500 spirited miles
Fitted 4 of these to an Audi TT Mk1 on advice from various forums. I've now driven them for over 2500 miles on a mixture of motorway and green lanes. For this price point they are unbeatable value.
Very high level of dry grip, and they offer good feedback when at their limit. Wet weather performnace is also good, high levels of 'feel' means you know when you're pushing them.

Given 100% while driving a Jaguar S Type 2.7D (245/35 R19) on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
Very early days yet as only covered a few hundred miles, but very impressed so far. Had these fitted as changed wheels, going from 18" to 19", and pushed them in both wet and dry. Little flex, but expect this given lower profile, track well and as yet have not got them to break away. Very slight increase in road noise to the Pirelli's, but only really notice it over covers/banding/potholes. Will report back once I've done more miles and pushed them harder, but for half the price of the Pirelli equivalent, so far very pleased.

Excellent dry and wet grip, they wore rather quickly though.

Given 47% while driving a BMW 320D (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 6,000 spirited miles
I had these fitted when I bought a new set of alloys. I had thought they were excellent and an improvement over the runflat Continental Sport Contact 2 that were fitted to the original alloys. But after 6 months of average use (roughly 6000miles) my front 2 are very badly, and unevenly worn resulting in vibration and poor tracking and unpredictable behaviour.

As such I would no longer recommend these tyres and won't be buying them again.

Bought these to replace Michelin pilot sport 3's, I can't believe how much quiter these are on the road and they grip a lot better. They feel stronger through corners where the Michelins used to feel as though the side walls were folding. Not had chance to see how they are in the wet. Hopefully they don't wear as fast as the Michelins! Will definetly be replacing my rears with these, £60 a side cheaper than the Michelins and give better performance so far

Given 76% while driving a Honda CRV (245/45 R19) on a combination of roads for 25,000 easy going miles
Replaced all round to our CRV 2007 model. The factory fitted Yokohama Advan Sports although looked good wore out after just 10K of town and motorway driving. They also cost a fortune to replace and I could not afford one tyre let alone all four! I got a set of F452s fitted for the price of two original tyres. They look good grip well for how we use the SUV and wear well. They are firm and the ride is very sporty but confident. I am due to replace the front 4mm tread left and 6mm rears - not bad for nearly 25k. I was told by the local tyre shop that avoid F452s for the CRV as they become distorted. I've not had that problem and would buy again. Also the dealer states that you have to have the same tyres on all four corners is not true under normal road driving. It may be important if you are off roading all the time but I eould by a Toyota land cruiser or Discovery for that role.

Given 90% while driving a BMW E39 5 series (265/35 R18) on a combination of roads for 9,000 average miles
There's very little need to pay more unless money is no object, these tyres represent fantastic value and confidence when driving, they're predictable in wet or dry conditions and inspire a feeling of safety. If they were a very little bit quieter they would have had full marks all round. In short, they're brilliant.
