First I am going to start with good points:-
Grip in the dry is excellent. Wet grip is not bad at all quite progressive before they let go, or more precisely you push them too far.
Value for money. Very good compared to some of the top brands. I even managed to get 18,000 out of the tyres before changing them out for Goodyear Eagle F2s - that is when I realised just how much road noise the 452s were generating. Not only road noise, but mechanical noise to boot. i.e. wheel bearing and alike.
Now for the not so good points:-
My car also needed extra load side wall (XLs). After about 2000 miles these seemed to give up the ghost and the car was being pulled into the lorry ruts. I put this down to the size of the tyres, but in hindsight the original tyres (Continental Sport 2s) did not do this and the Goodyear tyres don’t.
I had read through the reviews before buying the 452s and dismissed a few as they were over critical. However, be warned, road noise is an issue with these tyres!
In summary, and in my opinion, smaller lighter sportier cars would have no problems with the 452s and would reap the excellent wet/dry grip and value for money. However, if you are driving a larger heavier car, side wall stability and uneven tyre wear along with the road noise would probably be an issue.
