Questions and Answers for the Lassa DriveWays Sport

2022-02-25 - What is the depth of the tread on a new tyre Lassa 235/45R18 98Y Driveway SPT XL. ? I ask this because I got 4 of these fitted (Tyre Spot) to my 2017 VW Passat only 12 days ago (100 miles recorded since) and according to Lookers (VW) the measurement readings taken during MOT & Health check were 2 x rears at 7mm - 2 x front 7mm but inner tread 6mm. I am taking car back to Lookers next week for alignment check. 2 x 6mm.

It's not unusual for the outer shoulders of tyres to have lower tread depth. Legal tread depth measurement is taken from the center 75% of the tyre.

Given 63% while driving a BMW 25i Sport XDrive (225/45 R18) on mostly town for 5,000 average miles
Average tyres, noisy and quite light feeling steering wise. They are accurate enough, but lack the feel of a premium brands offering in this segment. Will get Hankook or similar to replace these on my 225i.

Given 71% while driving a Opel insignia (245/40 R19) on mostly town for 80 spirited miles
I'm using since 80.000Km on my Opel Insıgnıa. They had a same premium road feedback and grip. Dry and Wet really like grip monster.
Had a unbeliveable strong wear so can drive 80.000km =)

But they are very noisy and low comfort after 4 year and long kilometers.
I will change them nowadays. I want buy a little comfortable tires. May be will miss lassa's best grip.

Given 89% while driving a Volkswagen Golf MK5 GT 170 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
These are very reliable tyres and I put them at the front. Excellent grip in both dry and wet. The sidewall is just stiff enough to ensure stable cornering and handling. Not the quiestest tyres but the noise level is totally acceptable.

Disappointed with these as they come from the same factory as Bridgestone. Handling seems okay but too noisy. Had Goodyear Efficient Grip on before and they were miles ahead. Recommended by the tyre fitter as they didn't have Goodyear but wouldn't buy again.
