Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 Reviews - Page 9

Given 97% while driving a Porsche 911 3.0 (295/30 R19 W) on mostly country roads for 18,000 spirited miles
I would not put on any other tyres but Michelin PS2 on my porker. These are the N rated ones too and they perform brilliantly in all conditons and compliment the power of the 911 turbo like a duck to water.

Given 96% while driving a Mercedes Benz C220 CDI Sports (215/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 36,000 easy going miles
Superb tyre that inspires confidence in all conditions more often in the wet and they offer tons of grip. In the dry these are unmatched by anything that I have used so far. I am also very impressed with how long these tyres lasted consdiering they are Ultra high performance.

Given 97% while driving a BMW 335d (235/35 R19 W) on a combination of roads for 31,000 average miles
I now know why Michelin tyres are rated the best and slighlty more expensive than the competition.
No other tyre comes close in terms of dry and wet grip along with comfort and durability. I am very impressed with the 31K I got out of the rears and the fronts still have 3mm of tread left on them so should see me out untill 37k at least.
Best tyre I have used If these were cheaper on par with Contis and Bridgestones I think it would outsell them pure and simple.

Given 97% while driving a Porsche 987 Boxster S (265/35 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 25,000 spirited miles
I have the N rated versions on my Boxster im not sure what the N rated quite is but have heard the manufacturers make a small change in the mould casing during production to get the N ratings. Also they N rated tyre is approved by Porsche and it warms up quicker given you instant grip the downside being it wears down slightly quicker too.

These have lasted 25K and are the best tyre that I have ever used compared to:

CSC3, CSC2, Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, Dunlop Sport Maxx GT. Pirelli P Zero to name a few.

The dry grip and braking is the best there is with these tyres on, they are very progressive and offer NO tramlining. Wet grip is class leading better than the Goodyear GSD3 and F1A and it handles beautifully in the wet too.

I Have found these tyres to be comfortable although not the most comfortable I have had, but then again if you want comfort get a set of Conti premium contact or Michellin Primacy HP.

I would always buy these tyres again and if you get yourself down to Bracknell Tyres in Berkshire they are the cheapest I can find cheaper than the internet believe it or not.

I am now down to about 1.8mm and need a new set I must admit when these tyres get to about 2mm they get very hard.

Given 96% while driving a Audi A4 (235/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 37,000 spirited miles
Excellent tyre though expensive, grip in the dry and wet is amazing and lasted much longer than factory fitted CSC3 which lasted only 12K.

Given 100% while driving a Audi TT (225/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 28,000 spirited miles
The best tyre I have ever had so far the dry grip is simply awesome no other tyre can compete with this much level of grip and control.

Wet weather these tyres are excellent too and hold the road really well and giveyou tons of confidence to puch the car to its limits.

They wore well for a performance tyre however I did rotate them at 10K intervals. the only downside if there is one is that they are very expensive 165 GBP per tyre compared to the CSC3 which were 142 GBP.

I have had CSC3, CSC2, Potenza Re050, Eagle F1A and GSD3 and these are the best in some cases just slighlty better than the tyres listed and in other cases a lot better.

Given 100% while driving a Mazda 3 Series (225/45 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
Much better than OEM Bridgestone Potenza RE050A. I changed size from 215/45/18 to 225/45/18. Excellent grip on both dry and wet roads (no aquaplaning) but the best thing about these tires that I'm sure concern all Mazda MPS owners is that they don't spin!!! Antispin and ESP ...sleep deeply! I still can't believe it! All the power goes to the road! The car became more civilized and controlable than before. Highly recommended!

Given 60% while driving a BMW E46 3 Series (265/30 R19 W) on mostly motorways for 8,500 spirited miles
I've used them mostly on the road and I've managed to get 6-7 track days there much gripper on the wet than on a dry day and on the track after 6 laps on a dry day the tyres start to handle badly and unpredictable over all I had a number of spins which caused damages to either damper or wheel and tyre costing me more than the price of these, so if you're planning to use them on the road and track then you better off with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup or toyo R888 and if you found them pricy then conti3 or GoodYear ASY F1 but remember road tyres are not very good on the track due to the lack of grip on a hot dry track day.

Note: The new Michelin PS2 do have a soft sidewall you can almost push the tyre of the rim therefore even more bad handling.

Given 91% while driving a BMW M3 (255/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 20,000 spirited miles
Awesome tyres on the M3 they give excellent grip wet or dry and last a long time my M3 chucks out 300 BHP and these tyres are excellent. The only bad point is that they are very expensive to replace and im not sure the price difference between these and the Continental CSC3 ammounts to the difference in performance as they are both about the same overall but a big differnce in price.

Given 66% while driving a BMW 530D (255/40 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 150 spirited miles
Well i can only say i just bought the last pair last year . I'm changing now .
I have a BMW 530d 2002 , and i must say i must replace the rear tires every summer , i have another set of tires for winter , so an aprox calculation gives me less than 15000km for a pair of rear . The front lasts as long as 2 summers . They wear off way too fast . I don't burn rubber at all doing donuts or stuff like that . I just drive kinda fast out of town .
Think i'm going for Falken , it's half the price , and even if they last as long as the PS2 did ( thought i seriously doubt that ) i will be happy hence the price .

Given 67% while driving a Opel Astra H OPC (225/40 R18 W) on mostly motorways for 10,000 spirited miles
I don't know what the fuss is all about for this tyre. In my opinion its way overpriced for what it offers. Its an all around good tyre, but does not excell in any area. For a tyre that wears that fast I would be expecting a much better grip.
