I drive this tire on an Alpina D3 F31 Bi-turbo Touring Allrad. This review is for the front tires. This car has two different sizes for front and rear. I bought my car with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and was so impressed that since then I’ve only been using the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S. It offers very high grip in dry conditions — so much that I’m amazed every time I push the car to its limits. It also performs very well in the wet. Everything else is also good. The only downside is durability. Even though the car has all-wheel drive, the rear tires wear out twice as fast as the front ones. I have to replace the rears almost every year, and the fronts about every two years. Although I’ve often thought about trying something else, I always end up buying the same ones again — and have been doing so for years.

I drive this tire on an Alpina D3 F31 Bi-turbo Touring Allrad. This tire is okay in dry conditions and good in the wet. It’s the best I know when it comes to lateral grip on snow. With no other tire have I been able to corner so well and so quickly on snow. Everything else is also good. On my vehicle — even though it has all-wheel drive — the rear tires wear out twice as fast as the front ones. I have to replace the rears almost every year, while the fronts usually last about two years, depending on how much and how I drive. I would buy it again and have been doing so for years. Nothing else comes close to this one in terms of lateral grip on snow.

It's a good tire, as the dry grip was very good and the wet grip was okay. It handled well and allowed for sporty driving in dry conditions. However, the lateral grip on snow was disappointing. Everything else was fine. I did have a major issue with this tire, though: severe sawtooth wear. It got so bad that with just about 1 cm of fresh snow (you could still see the road underneath), I couldn't take corners anymore. I could only turn at walking speed. I ended up replacing the tire early. Never again.

I drove this tire on an Alpina D3 F31 Bi-Turbo Touring Allrad. It's a good tire in dry conditions, and especially impressive in the wet. I’ve never had a winter tire with such strong wet grip — it even rivals some summer tires. However, I was disappointed with its lateral grip on snow and ice. Everything else was good. Wear was acceptable, but due to the camber of my car, the tires wore down excessively on the inside — to the point where they tore and the internal reinforcement material became visible on the rear tires. I won’t be buying them again, mainly because of that issue and the lack of lateral grip.

I wish I'd never bought these tyres! If you want a skid pan experience just buy a set. In the wet I'm going round every roundabout totally sideways at 10mph. At first I thought somebody must be coating my tyres in grease overnight for a laugh but it's been going on for too long now. I can only describe the wet handing as if driving a car on rims with no tyres at all! One time I actually stopped to check the tyres hadn't come off! They were still there, hard as ever and laughing in my face daring me to get back in the car!! As long as you don't mind writing off your car and yourself they do last forever. You can smoke them out on the spot all day and I guarantee the Tarmac will give up before the tyre they are that hardy. Hardy is great as long as you are hardy enough yourself to get out of your burning wreck of a car!! I've recently upgraded to sunew.
