Given 74% while driving a Audi A4 (245/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 8,000 spirited miles
Did a fair bit of sourcing following the previous tyres I had on this car. Replaced a front set of General Altimax Sport which, up to now, were the worst set of tyres I have every come across. I heard positive reviews about the majority of Continental Tyres, however I was also informed that the wear tended to be slightly high. I fitted these tyres to the front of my 2.0 TDI Audi A4 to replace the Generals with the hope of drastically improving the handling and grip and ultimately provide a safer handling car.

Upon purchasing these tyres, the grip and handling was almost immediately transformed. The grip from these tyres in dry and wet conditions is the best I have come across in a tyre so far. Very rarely did I come across any loss of grip through corners even under harsh acceleration and found very little wheel spin when pulling away from junctions, even in bad conditions. For heavy surface water I wouldn't say there was anything dramatically impressive, however in comparison to the General Altimax Sports still a vast improvement. The only down side to these tyres has to be the wear. I only just managed 8000 miles on these tyres and although I occasionally drive aggressively, I attempted to make these tyres last and seriously struggled. On the up side, I found the grip on these tyres lasted almost until the tyres were fully worn out. Only in the last couple of hundred miles did the tyres begin to lose straight line grip and aquaplaning became a slight issue in heavy surface water. In terms of progressiveness, I rarely found loss of grip so it is difficult to say, however on any occasion where these tyres started to slide it was very controllable and easily correctable.

Because of the steep price on these tyres and the very high wear I have decided not to purchase these again. I have instead gone for Pirelli P7 Cinturato Blues. I have purchased the Pirellis before and although they will not provide such precise handling and grip, I find they are a better all round tyre for the price. For anyone who is not prepared to fork out every 8000 or so miles I would look else where, however for performance which will continue to last until the tyre is almost completely worn, I found these tyres hugely impressive.

Given 96% while driving a (255/40 R18 W) on mostly motorways for 22,000 spirited miles
At 22000km I estimate that these tyres are half-way though their useful life.

They are runflats fitted on the rear of a 330d BMW M-Sport.

I cannot fault them in the wet or dry - they give great feedback through the steering and I have every confidence in them in heavy rain conditions.

They get hard use on twisty country roads and also high speed (130kph+) on long distance autobahn use.

These are the quietest and most comfortable runflats I've every had - better than the ContiCSC2s and MUCH better than the Bridgestone Potenzas I had before that.

I will definitely buy them again.

Given 54% while driving a Nissan Pulsar (205/50 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
Came fitted to new Nissan Pulsar. They were fine in the dry and wet braking was OK but wet cornering was dreadful with a tendency to simply break traction and slide. Also they needed changing after only 8000 miles when I used to get 20000 on my heavy old diesel Mondeo. Not all tyres are equal, it seems.

Given 93% while driving a Nissan Juke (215/50 R17) on mostly motorways for 36,000 spirited miles
The Conti Sport Contact 5s were on the car when I got it new 21 months ago, and I've had no issues with the performance, wet or dry. After around 20,000 miles the backs and fronts were swapped to put the greater tread on the front. Just a week ago, the rears (was front) were replaced after 36,000 miles, while the fronts (were rear) still have 4.3mm left, so should take me close to 40,000miles. As a high mileage driver, I've got no complaints over the longevity, and have had the same fitted again.

Interesting, so many people having problem with wear, new tyres came with 7,5mm, after 3 years/30000km 6,0mm rear, 5,5mm front. Maybe problems with right pressure. Driven on Mondeo Estate 2,2 TDCi/155bhp. Mostly city and motorway, Czech Republic, with awfull roads.

Very safe and secure tyre in all conditions, but for the price I expect them to last more than 8000 miles. I won't be buying them again and will choose either Michelins or Goodyears

Given 66% while driving a Mercedes Benz A200 petrol (225/40 R18) on mostly town for 8,000 easy going miles
No problem with performance in wet or dry all year round. They had been fitted as standard to my Mercedes A class. Only 8000 miles of conservative driving later and the outside edge of the two fronts were bald. Took it into Mercedes for the tracking checked but all was fine, issue was the tyres having poor wearability. Replacing tyres every 8000 miles is not good value for money. Would not use this tyre again for that reason.

Given 54% while driving a Mazda 6 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 6,000 average miles
Nice tyre for dry and wet grip. Disgusting tyre for life/wear. Several rotations and alignments through a 8000km lifespan. Each alignment/rotation showed no car issues, but tyres went sawtooth on the front outer edges and wore evenly across the tread on all tyres within 7000-9000 km for all 4 tyres.

A bit more grip, a bit more fuel consumption and a bit more noise than Bridgestone t001 that it came with standard, and that I've re-fit now.

Less than 8000km/5000mi is not acceptable for a car driven normally on outer suburban sealed roads with exemplary car and tyre maintenance.

Given 83% while driving a Mercedes Benz CLK 200K Advantgarde Cabriolet (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 16 spirited miles
I've had the set (4x 225/45/17) since summer 2015. So far, everything is excellent and even though I've done 16k miles the tyres are keeping up to their initial sharpness and performance: the grip in the dry and in the wet is perfect, feeling very comfortable even when the driving is very spirited. Absolutely solid in the rain, no chance of aquaplaning. Excellent handling and feedback, very responsive, can make minimum mid-turn adjustments with extreme precision (the only better I've had is Yokohama AdvanSport because of the more rigid and thicker sidewall). Road noise and comfort are very decent, though could be slightly improved. Only "problem" is the wear (compared to previous Michelin Primacy HP) the Contis are not holding to my expectations, but still it's not extremely bad, I recon I'll manage to reach the 25k miles mark.

Will definitely buy again !

Given 83% while driving a BMW 3 series (225/40 R18 W) on mostly country roads for 10,000 average miles
I have bought 2 new tires in 2015 and run them for 15.000 km. I have put them on front axle on my 1500kg Bmw 320d.
Advantages : dry and wet grip is very good, good aquaplaning performances, very good wear, in 10.000 miles they look almost like new; also, the noise level is low, but not so low as Vredestein UltracCento that i have on rear axle.
Disadvantages: my tires were made in Czech Republic in 2015. The quality of these tires is poor, because in 2 years they got cracked, they look like a 10 years old tires. And i kept them just like any other tires that i own, and no one cracked like these 2. I don't thrust them if i want to exceed 100MPH. I saw 6 years old Conti SC5 made in Germany without any crack at all, so the quality is maybe better for tires made in Germany. I would buy Conti SC5 again, but only made in Germany

These tyres as self seal are the factory fitment on the VW CC. I am at 40k miles. After my last review i do wonder if they changed the compound as this set has lasted far longer . They provide a good feedback and quite good comfort but are a bit noisey. I assume they are low rolling Resistance as on long journeys I am still getting over 60 mpg. After 10k these tyres are still very stable at autobahn speeds , well up to 140mph . Based on this last set I would happily fit again and possibly change from the Uniroyals I run on my other car.

Given 86% while driving a Volkswagen passat 2.0tdi sport dsg 140 saloon (235/45 R17 W) on mostly motorways for 18,000 average miles
was getting 18000-19000 miles on the front for ayear, more for the back as expected, As xl were abit harder but the sort suspension was not helping either but lived with it, It was about what doing for me on the road. Winter mornings at 05:00 for 27 miles to work on mororway and dual carriageways were no problem. With the surface water on the dualcarraige flooded in places were no problem. But then when going continental (no pun!) in france at 85mph for hours on end like 570 miles in 7+ hours no issues. Driving around mountain roads, hairpin beds and sometimes too much zeal they kept there grip astonishly, even with abit of squeal or as I call it 'whispering kisses'. So i used them for 4 years replacing when need. would buy again. Have changed from passat 2.0tdi 140 sport to a vw cc 180brake so may consider them again when required.
