Nexen N Fera SU1 Reviews - Page 9

Given 50% while driving a BMW 325d M Sport (255/35 R19 W) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
Replaced Dunlop Sport Max RT for these on the rear which were brilliant tyres. Not a good choice. Basically the rear became slightly unstable at higher speeds, but were fine normal to slightly spirited driving. However when it rains these tyres are not good. Basically putting my foot down or partially down around corners in the wet and these tyres DO NOT grip in the wet very well. On a few occassions this has caught me out by suprise and I thought I would crash. Good price but if you have 200 BHP going through the rear wheels then I would not recommend these tyres - your life depends on having tyres that perform well in the wet. and I can only compare these Nexens to the previous brand of tyre I had

I've used this tyres for 2months. Yes, they are comfortable tyres, with acceptable traction on dry road, but the most important thing is they are absolutely terrible on wet. My car is not powerful (130hp FWD), but boy, even the medium dynamic starts on a little damp road ended front wheel's spinning. Cornering on dry is acceptable, but tyres are too soft what really impede in fast cornering beacause car gets oversteer. I do not recommend this tyres, in my opinion they are only acceptable on dry, but really poor in wet. I had to buy another tyres

Given 51% while driving a Kia Motors (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
My car came fitted with these from new. A previous Kia had a previous generation of Nexen. They were quite poor, but these are acceptable.

Dry grip isn't bad, cornering is better than braking but it's a safe dry tyre.
Wet grip is less reassuring, not too sure footed in the wet and quite eager to light the traction control light.
Feedback and feel is acceptable in the dry but doesn't encourage you to drive in a sporty fashion. When pushing harder they do give warning before breaking away, but don't step back into line as soon as some tyres I've driven.

I had these on the car for approx 10,000 miles and they have 5-6mm left. They are quite hard tyres but don't absorb larger bumps too well. They unsettle car car on bumpy corners. The road noise is medium and not too bad really.

I'd not buy these as a replacement. True, I've paid twice as much for Michelins, but so far, they are proving to be far superior in every way.

The Nexens are rated A for wet grip and 71db. I'd dispute the wet grip rating having driven A grade Michelins.

Given 93% while driving a Mercedes Benz SLK (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 6,000 spirited miles
Had those tires for over 6000 km and so far i been very impressed with them, dry, wet grip is very good especially for the price. Low noise even with the roof down. Even when pushing the car the tires coop well.
I will definitely buy them again.

I have a new go-to tyre! I bought these to replace the mixed set of ditch finders that were on my car when I bought it. The tyres genuinely transformed the car! I will stick wit these on my cars from now on.

I put 2 on rear wheels of my e60 bmw 5series, these replaced a leading brand and they are fantastic all round tyre i was recommended these by a friend who uses them for track days on his tuned jap rwd cars. Fantastic everyday car for comfort when cruising to when you decide to show up some tadger in a crap boy racer car 😂
I am just about to buy 2 for the front as my car came with Haida tyres on the front which are the most dangerous crap tyres known to man

Front size 245/35/19
Rear size 275/30/19

Given 74% while driving a Honda Accord (235/45 R18) on a combination of roads for 150,000 average miles
Bought 4pcs new roadstone NFera SU1 . ACCORD fitted on, impressive noise level and extremely comfort drive with soft profile technology. Grip is good as what I expected after I had read so much review in the past. But but... After nearly 10,000km my driving experience tells the overall rating has reduced gradually 20% - 30% . especially high speed cruising at 160km/ph. Feels less confidence compared to Goodyear tyres 2 years ago that factory fitted. Anyway, these Korea made tyres is value for money in the premium category.

Given 84% while driving a Vauxhall (225/35 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 250 average miles
After receiving an unfortunate slash in my sidewall of my tyre via a nice small piece of metal left on a road. I phoned around to get a new tyre that day, the only place that had tyres were Kwik Fit (oh no I thought) anyway, they were Nexen N Fera SU1's in stock and since the other front tyre was low too I decided to change the pair of fronts and wear them through winter until I could get a "decent" set of tyres put on.

Initially I wasn't holding up much hope, driving normally around town there is no difference at all to be told of felt etc. Once on the open road, I was very surprised to how they felt. They are very grippy and give lots of positive fee to the car. By no means do they feel like a budget tyre. As you push ona bit they do start to feel not as planted as the Conti's I replaced, but considering the cost difference its nothing to write home about, damp / wet grip is very positive too. Only done a small amount of miles, so cannot comment on wear rate at all, but the overall feel and grip from the tyre can only be applauded for the price. Very happy indeed as I no longer need to change to "decent" tyres after winter, as these are more than capable.

Given 73% while driving a Volkswagen Polo 1.4 16V Sport (205/40 R17) on a combination of roads for 7,000 average miles
now 10.000 km with this tyre and minimum wear.thats a big plus. real value for money.
before i had Good Year F1 assy 2 and Dunlop B.sportresponse.
dry grip with these is good, wet is okay. at high speeds the goodyear and dunlops were mutch better.
high speed tight turning and the N'fera tyres can't handle it and it feels like its running from the rim. i.ve tried diffenrent pressures from 2.2 bar up to 2.6.

for normal daily driving this is a safe tyre for a good price.

Given 87% while driving a Honda crx del sol VTI (205/45 R16) on a combination of roads for 9,000 spirited miles
I used this tire on my crx del sol , its fwd and has 160hp , for a car that has to accelerate and steer with the front tires these nexen's did and do a perfect job , it always lets you know when they want to lose grip and when they do .. it happens so slow you have plenty of time to counter steer or catch the back ... its comfortable quiet and excellent in the rain , for a light sports car they do very well in the rain ,aquaplaning is not a problem . A great tire all round , low price and best performance .. better even then some top brand tires ..
