Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 spirited miles
When warm these tires have excellent dry forwards grip (traction). By warm I mean 25C or higher ambient temperature in summer after a decent drive to warm them up. Otherwise they are terrible in colder temperatures and the traction is poor in the wet. I realise my car has a lot of torque (RWD) but trying to gently accelerate out of an intersection or a corner is a receipe for sliding in all but the best conditions, starting in second gear is the only option in the wet. Braking seems average unless it is hot. This might be a good tire for the tropics but for USA, New Zealand, UK and Europe I would avoid. Definitely won't be buying them again, next will be either pilot sport 4 or maybe the new bridgestone sport although I am worried this one might suffer in colder weather also. I have had RE002, RE003, RE050 before which were all better.

I put a full set on my e class estate as it was on budget tyres when I bought it, they transformed the ride and handling (why do folk put cheap tyres on premium cars?). the ride is quite firm on the AMG spec but the tyres do not `give in` when cornering etc. Due for a set of rears soon and they WILL be Turanza T005`s again for peace of mind when driving in the dry or heavy rain.

This is a follow up to my previous review.I have not looked at the previous comments so I cannot be influenced by it.The dry grip after 5000 mile is still Suberb.The wet grip.I expect we have all done it but I was driving a little to fast on a road I did not know.The speed limit was 40mph and I was driving at 40mph and I came to a bend that just went on and on and on.The car / tyre combination performed perfectly and it drove as just as if the car was on rails.The Golf that was following me ( a little to close ) ended up up the wrong side of the road.I feel that the comfort has improved but the road noise is always in the back ground.However , and there is always a however is tyre wear.The car has been serviced recently and the tyre wear was noted as follows.Front tyres 6mm thread left and the rears have 5mm left.From memory these tyres when new had 7.5mm of thread on them.Please make your own mind up to tyre wear.

These tyres are very round and very black. Quite rubbery and they also have a rubbery smell. Only complaint is Mayne they could be pink and a little bit square

Absolutely sublime tyres! I fitted brand new DOT2016 Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 to my E63 AMG...they lasted 5 days! The sidewall flex was enough to make me throw up. Totally ruined my car. I was going to go back to my previous Potenza RE05A as it was a good performer but I thought I'd try a race-bred tyre. Now these AD08R's....they are something special. Sure, comfort has been compromised, but then you don't but tyres like this if you're interested in driving with passion. The steering response and turn-in is incredible. The balance that the chassis has...amazing. Grip...wow. Honestly, tyre wear isn't an issue at all for me if the tyre is as good as this. This is comparable to the R888, at least on the street. If you're a serious driver who knows how to drive fast and appreciates good balance and chassis control...you will not be disappointed with these tyres.

Just put on another set of fronts after 3 years and 10k miles of spirited driving . The rears still have a good 4mm and I'm impressed with the grip and feedback I get when "pushing on"

For the price, these Falken ZE914's are brilliant.

Bought them for my AMG E55 and Im very satisfied! They are very quiet and have a strong grip! I can compare them like premium tyres (Cont, GoodYear...) but the price is two times better than premium tyres. When I had Conti tyres, then I had problem with good grip (wet weather), wheels are over-rolling, ESP interrupt. With Nexens grip is much better.

Had these on the rear of my Mercedes E55 AMG which has bags of torque and they are very grippy. 5k miles gone now and hardly any sign of wear despite the traction control often lighting up under hard acceleration.
I see no reason to change brand when these eventually need replacing.

Having had Vredestein Sessantas on a previous car, and being impressed with them, I thought I'd give the Vorti a try. The car is highly modified, with 600bhp+ at the wheels, but I'm getting less grip from these than I did from the P Zeros which it came from the factory with unfortunately.

A shame, as I really wanted to like them, but they've made the car practically undriveable in the wet and, even on dry roads, it's a challenge. As for the wear, not really done enough miles yet, though I'm not expecting more than 6,000 miles from them.

Goodyear Eagles next I think, on a recommendation.
