Toyo T1R Reviews - Page 10

Given 99% while driving a Mazda mx 5 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 5,000 spirited miles
Amazing tyres! Loads of grip in the dry and wet! Which gives you the confidence to go faster and faster! Then when you do loose the back end they feel graceful and easy getting back into shape! No big tank slappers! Got a Mazda mx5 1.8 with new lowering springs and shocks all round! I would never buy a different tyre than the proxy T1R for my Mazda! And recommend them to anyone. And so cheep! £34 a tyre on camskills website, it was £73 for to tyres delivered to my door! Bargin!

In my opinion, why anyone would buy 'N' rated tyres at extortionate over inflated prices I do not know - I have got the new tread pattern T1 sports and the ride is both wonderful and confidence inspiring not to mention so quiet compared to the Perelli P Zero rosso's I have taken off. Porsche, you need to think again!

This is my third set of tyres and will definitely recommend them.
They are noisy but excellent in dry and wet conditions. Average set gets up to more than 25,000 miles. Suggests that the inner and outer tread be stronger to last longer.

ive had these in a 195 50 15 and a 195 45 15 wet grip was unreal could do 60 into sharp bends and not undrsteer and this is in a 750kg suzuki swift gti. sidewall is a bit to soft these are best in a lower profile. i changed to hankook RS2s wich were defo better but theyve stopped making them now :( debating weather to but these for my audi a3 225 40 18 on a 8j rim i recomend this tyre for the money it cant be beat !

Given 76% while driving a Opel Astra H CDTI (225/40 R18 W) on mostly country roads for 15,000 average miles
I got these for three years. In dry conditions they are very good. Even at the limit they keep the car well. However in wet conditions, they are not as good as other competitors. The biggest problem is the temperatures, when it is cold outside, they don't perform well. I drive them for around 25000 km. and they last well. Good tyres, but not perfect!

Given 79% while driving a Ford Puma 1.7 (195/50 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 8,000 spirited miles
The Toyos are hugely confidence inspiring, The car feels planted through the corners and is very predictable on the limit. Even if you do find yourself going beyond the available grip the breakaway is progressive, with good feedback through the wheel wet or dry.

Given 47% while driving a Ford Fiesta (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 7,000 spirited miles
Great performing tyre in the dry but terrible in the wet. I had them on a fiesta and it was great fun in the summer, you can really sling your car around, however as soon as it rains that grip goes. The only good thing is that it starts to slip rather than completely going so you can feel your limit. As they are a soft compound the wear is terrible i think i got about 7000 miles out of mine but it depends how you drive it. I wouldn't recommend

Fantastic tyres, just bought my third pair, fitted to a diesel Clio they work as well as could be expected. They're good for 10k on the front, the pair on the rear have done over 20k and still only half worn. Excellent value mid range tyre, to think a few years ago these were classed as budgets.

Terrible. Sidwall is soft, as are the tread blocks. Initial turn-in is vague, then the tyre wall collapses, and then the tread blocks squirm. Does not give confidence, or road feedback, so you're not feeling connected.

Due to the soft walls the shoulders scrub off in no time, and in fact scrubbing can be seen coming up the tyre wall! Folk overinflate them in an attempt to mitigate the softness, but trying to fix something.

They are after all a budget tyre. Went to a Yokohama AD08 which is staggeringly good

Not a very good tyre at all in the wet, let along icy conditions. Loses grip very easily in the wet - no confidence at all in driving on wet roads. Braking is also abysmal in the wet.

brought these tyres 2 months and they have been poor the wear was poor i fitted these to my fiat grande punto 1.9 mjet the grip was amazing and the wet weather was ok ,but will not buy again the compound of the tyre is to soft and for the tyre its very expensive i would reckonmend YOKOHAMA PARADA SPEC 2 or the spec x very good tyre..

Not sure on these, i heard rave reviews, and i was mega happy when i found a set of alloys on ebay with a receipt for the new tyres fitted a week before (still had the white stuff all over them from when they were fitted)

In the snow and ice they were nasty, i had a MK4 astra at the time, i touched the pedal and went flying nearly into a phone exchange!!

In the dry thy were very good, very sticky and grippy, certainly better than the stupid budgets on before them!!

Might very them again one day, maybe in the summer!!
