245/75 16 Tyre Review Highlights

Nokian Outpost AT rated 95% while driving a Dodge Ram 2500
Driving on a combination of roads for 100 easy going miles
I bought these tires recently. I have no experience with wear or ice and snow performance. Have driven on dry pavement, wet pavement, heavy rain and muddy gravel roads that would be best traveled in 4WD in 2WD only. I have a truck camper on my truck and needed tires that support close to the GVWR of a 3/4 ton pickup. Very pleased with the load carrying capacity of these tires. There is little sag in the sidewalls of the tires and rolling resistance is much lower than my previous tires of the same size and load index. I am getting better fuel economy and highway performance with the Nokian Outpost AT . No hydroplaning in heavy rain. Good traction on muddy logging roads. I will review again when I have some winter driving and wear observations.

Michelin Agilis CrossClimate rated 0% while driving a Ford F250
Driving on mostly motorways for 0 miles
I installed the Michelin Agilis because the BFG Commercial T/A’s were a little noisy. They were quieter but suffered from excessive sidewall play. I’d turn the wheel and it would be half to 3/4 of a second before the truck started to turn. I initially thought I had driven into major wind the way the truck moved around. I checked pressure just to be sure that wasn’t the issue and they were at 80 psi. I’ve driven 600,000 miles in my life and my trucks always had the L/S. I’ve never experienced a Michelin with as much sidewall play. I have a high performance bmw with Pilot Super Sports as well so I’m a car guy who’s owned nothing but Michelins.
I don’t know what the issue is or was but I went back to the noisy BFG’s.

Cooper Discoverer ST MAXX rated 90% while driving a Land Rover Discovery 1 1996
Driving on mostly town for 3000 easy going miles
Had these fitted new to my old Discovery 300Tdi as an upgrade, and they were a great choice.

As quiet as a road bias tyre despite the chunky looks, were surprisingly grippy on tarmac in the wet or dry, (never aqua planed for example and were always grippy and progressive) and obviously didn't have any issues in grassy fields. I never had the opportunity to take them offroad seriously, but I suspect they'd be a safe choice given the tread pattern. I had them on for about 3000 miles before I sold the truck, and the tyres had barely started to wear at that point. I had no issues with punctures or tears and in fact I'm looking for the same again for my current Discovery V8.

Michelin Latitude Cross rated 79% while driving a Isuzu DMAX
Driving on mostly town for 31 average miles
50,000k and small flakes of rubber are missing. I think I can get another 10,000k+ out of them (I will try at least). The tire sales place where I bought them said after 50k they won't stand behind them. My friend has the same 3.0L Diesel 4x4 as me and got about 60,000+ on his set. He puts on more miles than me and bought his after me. They are about $200USD per tire if I remember correctly. He started having inflation problems and they would not patch them saying they were too old and he needed new ones. He is switching back to Bridgestone OEM tires. I hated the squealing of those tires on the hot pavement. The Michelins are just starting to squeal on mountainous roads on hot days, but not even close to the Bridgestone. I am not sure what I will buy next.

Pirelli Scorpion AT rated 77% while driving a Opel Frontera Sport
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 average miles
It is a great tyre for off road oriented drivers, superb on wet, a bit noisy but exeptable. I feel like im on rails no understeer at high speed cornering. i'm waiting for the snow to see how they perform.

Cooper Discoverer ATR rated 90% while driving a Isuzu KB 280 DT 4x4
Driving on mostly motorways for 100 average miles
Hi I bought Cooper Discoverer AT tyres for my Isuzu KB 280 DT 4x4 a number of years back and think they are fantastic tyres. I got over 80 000kms out of them - they handled extremely well on my 4x4 and yes they were not the greatest off road - well as an All Terrain they were very good. Most of my travelling is on road anyway so what do you expect. I currently have Cooper ST's on my van - they are noisier than the ATR, but off road handling is very good. On road is suprisingly ok, but the ATR were tops! I would like to have 2 setsof tyres - 1 set of ATR and one set of ST!! :)
