This is the 2024/25 Tyre Reviews All Season Tyre Test! For this test, I have selected six of the best all season tyres in the large 235/35 R19 tyre size, and I'm using a MK8 VW Golf GTI to find out exactly which all season tyre is best in the larger wheel size.
To give this test extra depth, I also have six ultra high performance winter tyres in exactly the same size, and I've included a summer tyre. With this relatively small test field I've managed to test everything as one test, which means a common control allowing us to cross reference the data. This has shown us how the very best all season tyres compare to the very best summer and winter tyres in the snow, ice, dry and wet. There's some really interesting insight into how the all season tyres compare to the other categories below.
In this test we find out how the new Falken Azenis FK460 AS and Falken WildPeak Trail compare to the Tesla Model Y OE fitment Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 M+S.
Why is this interesting? Firstly, it's always nice to test the newest tyres on the market, but more importantly it should help answer the question as to whether moving away from the OE tyre your vehicle came fitted with is always a good option.
The OE fitted Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 M+S has been developed with Tesla, and as such it is focused on low energy use, low noise levels and good comfort. This is pretty much now the standard set of rules car manufacturers want from an OE tyre, whether they're developing an electric vehicle or regular internal combustion powered vehicle!
The 2023 Auto Zeitung All Season Tyre Test has tested nine popular all season tyres in 215/55 R17.
In this test I'll be comparing 7 of the most popular ultra high performance all season tires to find out which tire is best for you.
If you've read any of my previous all season tests, you'll be happy to know that six of the tires in this test I've never tested before, and they include the brand new Pirelli P Zero AS 3 Plus and the brand new Falken Azenis FK460AS. The tire I have tested before is one of the benchmarks of the segment, the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+, so if you want to, you'll have a cross reference points to compare the tires in this test to the tires in the previous tests.
As always I'll be digging into the dry, wet, comfort and noise performance of the tires, then in a later test I'll be looking at the snow performance, to give you a really complete overview of the tires performances.
In this mini test I compare the plus version of the best ultra high performance all season tires on the market, the Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS+, the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus, the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 and the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus in the dry, wet and snow to see which is the best tire overall! Can the current champion, the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 retain it's lead? Only one way to find out!
The testing heros at Sport Auto have answered a question we've all wanted to know the answer to! Just how good are all season tyres in large wheel sizes on a performance vehicle?
To answer this, Sport Auto have tested six of the best all season tyres, and included a NAMED summer and winter tyre, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport UUHP summer tyre, and the test winning Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 winter tyre.
It's a good test.

The 2021 Auto Bild all season tyre test has tested sixteen of the best all season tyres in the popular 225/50 R17 size.
Auto Bild are the European leaders in tyre testing, and go to lengths with their tests no other publication can. Firstly, to select the sixteen all season tyres in this test, they placed thirty two sets through a dry and wet braking test with the top sixteen qualifying, ensuring these sixteen are some of the very best on the market.
What's the best ultra high performance all season tire on the market? To find out, I test 7 of the most popular ultra high performance all season tires, and test them in dry handling, dry braking, wet handling, wet braking, noise and comfort tire tests, to see which is the top UHP AS tire.
In their second SUV / 4x4 all season tyre test of 2019, Auto Bild have tested ten all season tyres in 235/65 R17, and included the usual summer and winter tyre as benchmarks.
Earlier this year Auto Bild published their 2019 SUV all season tyre test, using an Audi Q3 wearing the popular 235/55 R19 all season tyre size.
As usual, all seven tyre patterns were tested in the dry, wet and snow, and as a reference, Auto Bild included a premium summer and winter tyre.
When it comes to trying new things in tyre tests, the German publication Auto Bild leads the way, and with their latest SUV 4x4 all season tyre tyre test they are once again pushing new ground.
Not only do they test six all season tyres in the SUV / 4x4 size of 235/60 R18 and include reference summer and winter tyres, but they also include two all terrain (AT) off-road tyres. These AT tyres aren't specifically designed to work in snow and ice like the all season tyres have been, instead they have a more off-road bias to their performance bend. Even with this added off-road performance, they still qualify as legal all season tyres thanks to them being marked with the "three peaks mountain and snowflake" symbol.
As a result, the AT tyres have a very different performance blend to the all season tyres on test, and while their snow performance was surprisingly OK, this test shows how badly they perform on-road, specifically in the wet.
Read on for the full details! For reference, the two AT tyres are the Yokohama Geolander AT G015, and the General Grabber AT3.
