Barum Bravuris 2 Reviews - Page 8

Given 60% while driving a BMW 530D (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 15,000 average miles
I have had these tires twice now. Each time they last only 15000 miles under normal highway and city driving conditions. My rear wheel drive car has wear on the rear tires down to the metal at this point. I am very disappointed.

Given 76% while driving a Mercedes Benz E350 (255/35 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 6,000 spirited miles
Switched from P-zero manufacturer fitted (MO) tyre to this tyre after researching and reading several reviews. Tyre is part of the Continental family and performs above its mid-range price. Only real difference I have noticed is a stronger wet grip, which is a positive, the negative being a little more flex / play in the sidewall (lateral movement) through tight bends. I am going to pourchase the same for my fronts when the OEMs are worn out. Car 2011 E350 Coupe cdi blue- efficiency sport. UK Roads.

Given 87% while driving a Mitsubishi Colt (205/45 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 6,000 spirited miles
Was wiery at first to say the least..

However, once the usual wax covering had worn off.. my god they grip! For what seems like a relativaly cheap tyre they are very good! I have bridgestones on the back and these barum's on the front and the B/Stones give up easier!

I have now done about 6,000 miles since having the fronts changed, wearing evenly and not wearing quickly! They are also much quieter than the B/stones.

Having done some research into Barum, it turns out it is a "budget" brand made by Continential! Having read up on them and experienced them first hand, i wouldnt say they are budget at all.

The rears are shortly due a replacement and i will defo use Barums again!

Given 81% while driving a Volkswagen Golf GT TDI 140 (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 12,000 average miles
Just replaced with same. lasted 12k miles on front backs still lots left.
Were nearly down to wear indicators and it showed on wet roads with less grip and some aquaplaning. will buy these every time.

Given 87% while driving a Saab Automobile 9 3 Vector cabriolet 150 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
These tyres are made by Continental in their eastern european factory(second biggest tyre plant in the world)so they are on a par with most of the premium brands. They have excellent grip and are very quiet on my cabriolet

Given 83% while driving a Vauxhall Vectra (225/45 R17 W) on mostly motorways for 12,000 average miles
These tyres were fitted on the car when I bought it si I don't know exactly when they were put on the car. I've now driven some 23k miles and the front tyres still have some life left in them. Went through the winter of 2010 with all the snow and had no problems. I've just started to look at replacements before the end of the year and would buy these tyres as price seems very competitive.

Given 93% while driving a Vauxhall Vectra SRI 1.9 (150) (215/50 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
Great tyre for the price...Very comfortable..... virtually no rolling resistance, great fuel economy..... maybe not as sharp as some of the higher priced tyres but overall great value for money and highly recommended

Given 88% while driving a Renault Megane (205/50 R17) on a combination of roads for 350 spirited miles
Well to all the tyre snobs, think on, I had 4 contis on my car since new, so I have just renewed all 4 tyres to Barum Bravuris 2's, All 4 tyres fitted just over £300, These tyres were a good old buy, Road noise with them is excellent better than the Contis who ironically make Barums! Dry and wet grip no probs at all unless your in the Seb Vettel or Jenson Button catagory of driving, just as good handling and grip as the previous contis!
In snow the contis were just a no no, so I will be looking to see if the Barums are any different but certainly wont be any worse than the contis!
So if you are in the market for a very decent tyre at a very decent price have a look past the big names and have a look at the good old Barums (made in euroland), so far so good.
PS after reading that you would think I am a Barum sales rep, I defo do not work for Barum haha!

Given 84% while driving a Rover 75 (215/55 R16) on mostly motorways for 10,000 spirited miles
Replaced Michelin tyres with Barums. Over the last 10,000 (mostly-motorway) miles the Bravuris 2's cornering and breaking has been excellent. I genuinely trust these tyres in the wet and I frequently drive on windy country lanes at speed.

I would suggest these offer a comfortable drive rather than a sporty drive, and this opinion is probably shaped by my Rover 75s soft suspension.

Given 83% while driving a Audi A4 Avante 2.0ltr tdi (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 16,000 easy going miles
I fitted two of these tyre to the front wheels of my Audi A4 2.0td Avant. I have done 16000 miles since and they are ready for replacment. That compares with 18000 miles for the Continentals which were on the car before. So about 10% less miles but mainstream branded tyres are going to be at least 50% more expensive. I also have one Barum on a rear wheel - no visual wear after 12000 miles. The car drives no differently with the Barums than the Continentals - though I don't push it.

Given 81% while driving a Volkswagen Golf Mk3 VR6 (190/50 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 7,000 spirited miles
Bought to replace worn Pilot Exaltos as I was on a budget. Once they had a few hundred miles on them and the initial greasy feel of new tyres had gone they perfomed very well. They are MUCH quieter that the pilots, although the pilots were worn and worn tyres can get louder. They squeel sooner than the pilots but outright dry grip is only very slightly lower, if at all. Wet grip is great both under braking, you have to really try to get the ABS to come on, and cornering. Both Dry and Wet this is a prdictable and progressive tyre with good feed back and a quiet comfortable ride. They are wearing reasonably well so far with 7000 miles on them and about 50% wear on the fronts having been driven quite hard on a 170hp front drive car. But at the price if they only last 10000 then still a bargin. If you dont mind not having, or paying for, a premium name then these are great (and they are owned by Continental)
