These tyres were fitted to the bike when purchased, it had about 1500 miles on the clock. Despite being the older model to the 012 they have a lot more feedback and are more progressive. This is their saving grace as the grip levels are more sport touring than sports and both tyres would easily lose grip when pushed. The rear got a puncture after a couple of thousand miles or so, and the front had started to do the usual 20p piece shape thing that Bridgestones do so I replaced that as well. I wouldn't run one of these on the front again as cornering was severely hampered when it kept washing out. I would have another on the back if it was super cheap as it was alway controllable.

I may be a little biased here as I'm not a fan of the battleaxes. I have always found them to give good grip, in the dry. In the wet, I tend to ride a lot slower, so I never push any tyre to its limits.
I dont find the battleax to give a comfy ride. You feel every blemish in the road.
I dislike how they wear. I have just done 500 miles on a new battlax, fitted to the bike by the previous owner, to my dismay. In these 500 miles, they have started to flatten in the middle already. The 500 miles were 50% motorway, 50% urban.
I dont expect them to last another 1000 miles or so, because I'm sure they will flatten out too far to give the grip that is desired on a bike.
