Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT Reviews - Page 3

Given 86% while driving a Vauxhall Omega (235/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 24,000 spirited miles
One of the best tyres I've driven on a Vauxhall Omega, if not the best. Directional stability, raw grip, braking performance are all superb for a road tyre. The downside is a life of about 11-12k from the rears (RWD) and double from fronts. Grip and stability maintained to long below the UK legal limit. The level of feedback allows you to get the maximum out of them, and with a predictability that inspires confidence. All this with a comfortable ride, although a bit of tyre noise.

IT'S A VERY GOOD TYRES. I BUYING THEM AGAIN IS VERY SMOOTH ON THE ROAD WITH NO SOUND, AND VERY GOOD ON THE LIMITS WITH NO SURPRISES

In terms of miles per dollar SHOCKING; for day to day driving better off with anything half the price

Pity about the wear. Avoid. (& no, I'm not a boy racer!)

i would say these tyre are pretty fair in term of it prices and performances in the dry but average in the wet . not recommended for high speed in the rain condition but do really provides confident in dry grid and hard cornering

I'm still new to Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT. Changed from Goodyear Revspec RS02 after having done about 70,000 miles in them. Of course in several sets. Noted the stiffer sidewall immediately which allowed me to take sharper bends with more confident. Way better than the previous Goodyear, hands down. So far, the TT passes my stress test with flying colors. Great! Highly recommended.

Given 94% while driving a Ford Focus mk2 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
Very good on dry&wet and a high resistance to aquaplaning, nice fast cornering. A little bit noisy, though. Incomparable better than OEM ContiContact Sport 2 that came with the car, that tires used to make me nuts on every drop of rain. I can not understand why Ford delivers the cars with such tires.

Had a set of Falken FK452 prior to chainging over to the Dunlops, have done around 2K on them and found them pretty bad on damp/wet roads, the electronic stability control (ESC) keeps lighting up when i was transversing the highlands road after it poured with rain.
Couldnt remeber the ESC lighting up that much when i was with my old set of wheels.
Be very cautious with this tyre in the wet

Given 39% while driving a Ford Focus ST (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 8,000 spirited miles
Very poor quality in comparison to previous set (Continental SC3)!
Will never buy these again. Wet surface grip is non-existant with wheelspin up to 4th gear, and even on dry surface up to 3rd gear ...
Also very loud, with lots of wear when pushed to the limit.

10k+ miles now done on these, grip & feel are great no notice of change over the miles. Wet as good as dry, my best wear on tyres for a while but that is not important to me. Still got a few thousand miles left.

Given 75% while driving a Volkswagen GOLF MK5 R32 3.2 V6 4MOTION (225/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
Western Australia here, satisfaction absolutely compared to the original SP Sport Maxx that were on the car when new. Can't comment on the wet as it's past rain here now as the year moves into summer. Read reports on the noise however I feel as they're a performance tyre a little noise is normal, ride is Ok and I'm more than pleased with the feel, good looks also.
