Given 81% while driving a Volkswagen Passat 2.0 140 TDI Sport Estate (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 5,000 spirited miles
I bought a VW Passat 2:0 tdi with budget tyre fitted and it was dangerous to say the least with terrible understear and braking. I looked at all the reviews for tyres and decided on the goodyears F1's and I have to say it was like driving a different car understear gone good braking performance superb in the wet. I had the same issue with my next car an Audi A 5. 3.0 tdi same result in great improvement in grip. Covered around 12000 miles up to now and probably good for 2 or 3 k more

I previuosly had gy f1 2, the differences are less rim protection but better damping on bumps, seems a softer compound, only done 300 miles but seems to get a little better, not as planted on the road. Did not have any other option of new uhp tyres with this size..

Having done a lot of research, I have found these tyres to be of exceptional high quality for road feedback, comfort in ride, handling in both dry and wet weather. As for wear I can see little sign of much wear to the tyres and as for prices, yes you may think they are a little high but shop around and find the best price you won't be disappointed. I got mine from Quicksave tyres in Blackpool. their prices are very good.

Had the Bridgestone Potenzas before this tyre and it was time for a change looking at the reviews it seemed like a great tyre better than the Asymmetric 2 however this isn't the case!

The Asymmetric 3 is a great tyre in the dry good grip and feedback, however in the wet I don't feel confident. It's good in a straight line and doesn't aqua plane however if you corner at normal speed on a normal Road I find they slip a little! Also if you give it a bit of throttle on acceleration they just light up traction control and the front end slips in the wet. I would recommend these tyres mainly for dry driving!

For this reason alone I won't be purchasing again!

When you choose to buy new tires try first to follow the advertising spot of company..if you see a car who is close to yours then you made a good choice, I mean if the spot is with Jaguar XF and you have a sporty car like Porsche Panamera then is a bad choice, or if the spot is with VW Golf 7 and you have Audi RS 6 or BMW M3 it's also a no good choice for sure.
Generally the type of car used to advertise acceptable offer insight for who is the type of tire, do not try to mix them because you will be disappointed.

Previously had the Eagle F1 Assy 2's, very happy with all aspects, really couldn't fault so purchased again, however GY replaced with assy 3's. Still a great tyre for driveability, however rim protector is almost non existent, the alloy rims basically are level (at the best) with the rubber, this is not what I expected.

As well as looking a little odd my expensive alloys are now at risk, wouldn't purchase again and will change to another make soon with proper rim protectors, will have sell these on Exxxx.

Given 97% while driving a Vauxhall Astra j 2.0 cdti Sri with 230hp 500nm (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 22,000 spirited miles
First off these tyres are simply the best if you want excellent dry and wet grip combined with good wear and good comfort these tires are for you.

I have a astra j 2.0 cdti on eibach springs and shocks with 500nm and 230hp and these tires perfectly compliment them.

They more than handle the power and help the front wheels get the traction they need to put the power down all other tires I had spun even at 20mph under acceleration these only spin from a stand still in the wet.

The dry handling is just .... Amazing simply brilliant , I have had conti contact sport , pirellie, michilin and they are all inferior before these eagle f1 I had the Goodyear efficient grip performance which where good but the eagle f1 are just another league, I drive the A7 daily in Scotland a very windy road and these tires handle the road beautifully they are incredibly responsive to steering input are comfortable when going over pot holes which in Scotland there is plenty, but the most amazing thing is the way they bite into the road in corners where I would take them at 50-55 I can go 70 and still feel more grip for the car to use, ride comfort is also good and they have a nice firm sidewall so the car doesent feel like its falling on its side such as with the conti and michillins, and this tire also shines in the wet it feels just as good in the wet as in the dry. Wear is also really good. Only tire that is anywhere near as good handling is Yokohama advanced sport v105 but the wear on them is pretty poor in comparison.

I would highly highly recommend these tires 10/10 will buy again and again.

Excellent tyre for the BMW. Nice smooth ride. Very quiet and low rolling resistance helping with fuel economy. Excellent grip in all conditions. Highly recommended.

Given 99% while driving a BMW 520d Tourer (225/55 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 4,000 average miles
It is the perfect tyre for a BMW 5 series. I no longer have wheel spin, control and handling are superb. Much better than the original Continental Premium Contact 2 that are the default tyres for a 5 series. Tyres are relatively quiet and fuel usage has improved. So if you want a sporty tyre but you don't want to sacrifice comfort this is your choice.

Given 79% while driving a Opel Calibra V6 (215/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 3,500 average miles
I used to have the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyres before these, but those were down to about 2mm and I sadly got some damage on the sidewall of one of the tyres. So when I heard there was a version 3 out from the Asymmetric tyres, I almost blindly chose those. This because my experience with the Asymmetric 2 tyres was fantastic; very good dry grip, excellent wet grip, very good steering feel and decent comfort. When I saw that the version 3's were even a bit cheaper, I went for it.

Now, after a few thousand kilometers, I kind of regret that decision. Not that these are bad tyres, not in the slightest, but the Asymmetric 2's were just better and more to my liking.

Starting off on a positive note though, the comfort on these tyres has become quite a bit better. Bumps and potholes in the road are less noticeable and they seem to be ever so slightly quieter. The wear, for the short bit that I've used them, seems fine. Wet grip is also still very good, only slightly behind or on par with the version 2's.
Dry grip seems to be a bit worse, I seem to get wheelspin quicker with these when for example driving off at at roundabout that is slightly uphill. This I never had on the previous tyres.

The most noticeable difference however is the feedback. I assume that with the tyres being more comfortable, the steering feel has gone downhill and it's much harder to predict where the limit is during cornering. The Asymmetric 2's were outstanding in that regard, you could feel everything going on through the steering wheel and you would know exactly where the limitations of grip were. I really miss that with these tyres.

In conclusion: if you have already ordered these tyres, no worries, they are pretty good. But if you're still browsing, get the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyres; slightly "harder" and less comfortable, but more grip and much more feedback.

Given 71% while driving a Skoda Octavia vRS (225/40 R18 W) on mostly country roads for 5,000 spirited miles
A good all round tyre in this size. They are a bit noisy on the motorway however. Good in the wet but then so too was the Asymmetric 2. The rim guard is a very definite step backwards over those on the Asymmetric 2 tyres I had beforehand. Never scraped a wheel with the Asymmetric 2s but I have with the 3s. I might try Michelin Sport 4s next time.
