Landsail LS588 UHP Reviews - Page 4

Given 80% while driving a Jaguar xf premium luxury (255/35 R20 W) on a combination of roads for 6,000 average miles
I was in two minds about buying these tyres but have been pleasantly surprised. Nice and quiet, predictable handling from the front and back, and great overall grip

If you drive in a moderate fashion you will be more than pleased. They are not a performance tyre but do everything well, especially given the price.

I took my XF across Germany through some pretty bad rain conditions throughout and the tyre performed well at motorway speeds. Even with considerable standing water at 60 - 70mph there was no hint of aquaplaning.

I would definitely buy again. They are not a million miles off a good mid range tyre and the construction quality is high for a budget tyre.

Given 43% while driving a Audi 3,0 tdi quattro sport (255/35 R20) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
Had these on my car when i bought it, one fitted 20 months ago the other 13 months ago, was getting a vibration of them, thought it was balance problem, only to find the drivers inner tyre was pretty much a full bulge in the side wall, and the passenger had 2 bulges too. I dodge potholes etc so would know if i hit a bad one to cause this, so these bulges have appeared from normal driving on normal roads

Very dangerous! I drive a a5 v6 tdi quattro so can't say bout grip but find the bulges seriously worrying especially since the tyres only had 8-9000 miles on them

Audi (225/45 R20 W) on a combination of roads for 35,000 spirited miles
I am a tyre snob and have always kept to the brand of tyre that were on the car eg Pirelli/Michelin etc. I bought a two year old Audi Q5 from an Audi dealership and didn't pay much attention to the tyres, assuming they were high end.

When it come to replacing them I found they were Landsail LS588, something I wouldn't have bought by choice. The truth is though that they have been absolutely fine and considering they are 50% the cost of an alternative I've stuck with them.

Two years on I have no regrets and will buy them again. The fronts have lasted 1 year and 35,000 miles so can't complain

I would happily recommend

BMW (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 8,000 spirited miles
Bought these after world reviews said it was a strong buy, this had a stage 3 chip 300 + BHP now back to 231 with 500 nm on tap in standard form both versions was no sweat for these tyres the only thing was they were a bit slippy from brand new fitted around 60 miles later they were fine.
Why buy expensive when these are around, stay in rural Angus but not had deep snow yet but it handled 3 inches like a winter tyre last March no problem also very surprised in black ice performance, tyre wear around 1mm for a 530d that's insane!
was £60 fitted per corner now £67 and I don't care why buy worse performance for over twice the price final point is, winter tyres maybe slightly better but unless telling your insurer its going to cost you 2/3 times more so why bother it's not worth the hassle guys also noted cars with small width don't seem to review as well as fast cars with wider rims so bigger profiles its a great buy! Bad thing about good reviews means prices will go UP!

Given 87% while driving a Audi Q3 (255/40 R19) on a combination of roads for 200 average miles
I have just diagnosed a noise like a faulty wheel bearing from my recently purchased Audi Q3 was in fact coming from one of its P Zero tyres. After much internet searching I decided to try these Landsail UHP tyres based on great reviews and affordability.SO glad I made the choice;the car is much more quieter and relaxing to drive on ALL roads.Turn in,grip and handling seem to be just as good as the P Zeros when I have been pressing on at speed in my big Audi.Hopefully they will be good in the Scottish winter conditions as other people have mentioned. Also no tears if I happen to destroy one accidently.Excellent!

Given 85% while driving a Citroën C5 Estate (215/55 R16) on mostly country roads for 2,000 average miles
I replaced the Michelins on my Citroen C5, and boy: what a difference! The Landsails are quiet, comfortable, good value! No longer my car follows the wear tracks and road markings on the road surface. The negative is a little vague steering response, not a big issue though for me. No balancing problems. They seems to last long.

Mercedes Benz (245/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
I was reluctant at first for these tires.
Due to financials, I decided to try them out.
Besides, I had searched it and had good reviews.
I was surprised.
My old tires were continental sport conti 3.
The landsail clearly better.
A rising brand much better than the "brand name".
For wear it is too early to talk but I recommend it unreservedly.

Given 92% while driving a Volkswagen EOS (235/40 R18 W) on mostly motorways for 500 spirited miles
Had these tyres fitted 2 weeks ago and immediately noticed the difference! Much improved handling, comfort and noise level than the previous Michelin Pilote Sports that were on the car. Most of my driving so far has been on motorways (in the fast lane!) but I haven't yet had to drive in wet weather. Based on my experience so far, I would definitely recommend Landsails.

Given 66% while driving a Ford model titanium X sport 2012 (235/35 R19) on a combination of roads for 12,000 average miles
Read many reviews before buying and having them fitted at Halfords in Leamington Spa. The tyres have worn out at just 12,000 miles of general use. I rarely go fast and I only carry myself or my partner. I keep an eye on my tyre pressures regularly but had an MOT and in 8 months of owning my Ford mondeo 2011 2.0 tdci the tyres need replacing already. Not only have l now have to find another £200-£300 for 2 tyres again so soon but Halfords over tightened the locking wheel nut so hard it busted my locking wheel nut tool and Ford's master key!! It doesn't need to be that tight!!

Given 98% while driving a Mazda MX5 (205/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 200 spirited miles
Replaced all four tyres on my MX5 Mk 3, 2 litre Sport with Landsail’s. The two existing front tyres on my MX5 were Continental’s of which were fairly worn-out, but still legal, while the rear tyres were Bridgestone’s of which still had a fair amount of tread on them but were showing signs of age with minute cracks in the side walls (they were over 5 years old after all), so l decided to replace all 4. Now, because my car is over 10 years old, l didn’t see the point in spending £120 a corner for tyres, so l took a chance and bought these Landy’s (all four cost £256 - fitted!) and OMG they are just as good, if not better than the tyres they replaced. Grip in dry/wet is excellent and noise levels extremely low. I can’t comment on their longevity as only covered a couple of hundred miles on them so far. Now l know Chinese tyres never had the best reputation in year’s gone by, but many more recent reviews stipulate that manufacturing techniques have moved on considerably over the last decade or so, and if these tyres are anything to go by l’d say l’m in total agreement. No wonder these tyres beat Michelin at their own game in recent tyre tests! What baffles me is the sheer snobbery in the makes of car tyres in the UK. Why pay triple the price for a tyre that is not always as good as the brand/hype manufacturer’s say they are?
Here’s to the next 20,000 miles...

Volvo C70 D5 LUX (235/45 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 500 average miles
I drive 55 miles each way to and from work mostly on A roads but with a fast B road alternative, if traffic is heavy, for around 20 miles of the return journey. I have found that these tyres give good grip in both wet and dry, with very low noise, which was important for those times when I can lower the roof.

At first I was unimpressed with the feedback, but after replacing the front and rear drop links I find that the feedback is greatly improved. Feedback and progression are not quite what I find on my other car running Michelin CrossClimate+, but these tyres were less than half the price and they suit the more sedate nature of the less powerful Volvo - which is no sports car.

Overall I feel that these tyres are good value for money, although it is too early to comment on the wear rate.

Given 50% while driving a Volkswagen Golf 7 TDI (225/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 10,000 average miles
Tyres have good grip however vehicle has lost it's handing. The car originally had Bridgestone Potenza tyres, which handled very well compared to the Landsail. With the Landsail, I have lost the good handling, the vehicle feels as if it floating if you take bends at high speeds and the vehicle becomes highly unstable. When decellerating fast, the vehicle starts to float all over and loses control very easily. It feels almost as if only the middle part of the tyre is only touching the ground. The tyres have been filled according to manufacturers specification using a calibrated pressure guage, regretful purchase.
