BMW 525d Msport Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Petlas Velox Sport PT741 given 96% (265-35-18-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 7000 spirited miles
I drive a RWD BMW 5-series with more than 200hp and was very skeptical of these budget tires but they had my size (265/35/18) while no other company had it in stock at the moment. I previous had Goodyear Assyms 3 and these somehow made the Goodyears feel bad? I don't know what Petlas did here but these tyres are amazing! They handle superbly (even if you don't consider the price), they are relatively quiet, decently comfortable, and give you a ton of road feedback. Actually how quiet they are is the thing that shocked me the most... One noticable downside is that they aren't so great in the wet but you still have safe amounts of control over the car even in faster corners. Still, the tyres warmed up relatively fast meaning they were ready to go only after a few kilometers of driving! I only drove them for 10 000 kilometers so far and there are 0 issues with the tyre structure and almost no wear. Overall, an almost perfect tyre and at that price? You should be insane not to buy these!

Fitted to BMW E60 525d. 245/40/18.

This is a half season type of review from the UK. I got these fitted to the front and rear of my E60 (5 series) and i was very impressed from new to 3mm. (2 seasons)

The level of grip in the dry is really good and in the wet no worst than a premierm tyre. I know my tyres and had many premium brands over the years and got recommend these by a contact in the trade who said they would be ideal for my type of use,

I run summer wheels (which these where fitted to) and winter wheels which are fitted with Michelin Alpines so i never experience these tyres in temps less than 7'c average so unable to comment how they perform once the rubber hardens in the cold or real cold wet / autumn etc

So from a summer season point of view i would choose these again, they offered plenty of grip in the wet, but i never pushed it hard in the wet anyway, but in the event of hard braking the ABS would never kick in which you would expect if the tyre was losing traction, maybe in 1700kg RWD car they will perform a bit different than a FWD high torque car, but please take into account the above regarding i used them only in the summer months.

Thanks
