The Best All Season Tyres for 2024 / 2025
2nd of 9 tyres
  • Consistent performance across all metrics, predominantly ranking 2nd or 3rd in 18 distinct tests.
  • No standout performance in any specific category.
  • The Continental AllSeasonContact 2 is the tyre that tried to do everything well, which means while it didn't jump out in any one area, it doesn't have any major drawbacks either, finishing either 2nd or 3rd overall in nearly every single test which is mighty impressive. I think all season tyres should be balanced, and the Continental does that better than nearly any other tyre..

The Best All Season Tyres for 2024
1st of 7 tyres
  • Very good in dry handling, best in wet handling with short wet braking, best snow traction, best in ice overall, lowest wear on test, best value tyre on test, low rolling resistance.
  • Extended dry braking, low aquaplaning resistance.
  • The new Continental AllSeasonContact 2 was the tyre that does everything well. The only negative point I can really mention is that it wasn't that great in curved aquaplaning, and ideally I'd like to see it better in dry braking, but in all the other tests it was just great. And it had the lowest wear which made it the cheapest tyre per 1000km. And it had low rolling resistance. And excellent snow grip, and was the best in the wet. And the best overall on ice. You get the idea. Outstanding product from Continental.

2024 All Season and Winter Tyre Test
1st of 10 tyres
  • The Continental AllseasonContact 2 is the most fuel-efficient among all tyres and the fastest in the slalom test in dry conditions. It provides good cornering support and stability while remaining agile. In wet conditions, it matches the score of the Continental winter tyre. It requires a bit more driver effort to achieve its full performance potential at the limit. On snow, it delivers a surprising performance by achieving slightly better results than the Continental WinterContact TS 870P. The Continental AllseasonContact 2 sets a new benchmark for all-season tyres by providing more grip on snow than the Continental winter tyre.

Questions and Answers for the Continental AllSeasonContact 2

2023-11-29 - For the tyre Continental AllSeasonContact you wrote that it is summer-bias all season tyre and I wonder if the same can be said for Continental AllSeasonContact 2 or there is a difference? Which tire of the two can be said to be more summer-bias all season tyre?

The CrossClimate 1 was the original summar bias all season tyre, the ASC and ASC2 are a little more winter bias, but looking at the market as a whole they sit somewhere in the middle. The ASC2 is an evolution of the ASC1 so I expect it to have a similar balance of performance, just more grip.

2024-11-10 - Hi guys. Can someone tell me how can i find working temperatures for Continental Allseason contact2? My city temperature will increase 40-45 degrees in summer( just 1month) . I wonder that will this thyre still working that temperature well. Am I have to change my tyres for this period or will it be still nice to use it even if that temperatures.

It will be no problem to use the AllSeasonContact 2 in normal driving in those temperatures. It's certainly at the warmer end of the temperature range but you don't have to worry about the tyre failing.

Top 3 Continental AllSeasonContact 2 Reviews

Given 88% while driving a Audi A3 (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 50 spirited miles
Compared to my previous premium summer tyres, the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 is incredibly quiet and has fantastic grip. I am driving a plug-in hybrid Audi A3, and it became basically silent in fully electric mode. I always had wheelspin when I accelerated a little harder, because of the instant torque of the electric motor. What fascinates me is that this happened with both Bridgestone and Vredestein summer tyres in warm, dry weather conditions. This is no longer the case with the ASC2. The rolling resistance also feels much better, the car coasts so effortlessly. Power consumption however is about the same as before. I didn’t get a chance to test the tyres in winter conditions yet, however they seem to handle well in heavy rain. I would definitely recommend.

Given 88% while driving a Hyundai Ioniq (205/60 R16) on mostly country roads for 1,500 average miles
Just replaced the eco contact 6 tyres on my Ioniq Electric with all season contact 2’s and have been really impressed so far. They seem slightly quieter than the summer tyres (although still a bit on the noisy side). The biggest improvement is driving in wet conditions - these are far superior to the eco contacts and overall the car feels much more stable and planted than it did on the eco contacts. To date I’ve not noticed any significant change in range either.

My Renault Scenic has the first generation all season contacts fitted and they perform brilliantly in snow, I’m expecting the second generation to do just as well (although I’ve not driven these on snow yet so too early to confirm).

Overall an excellent tyre which I’d definitely recommend and would purchase again.

Today i replaced my Hankook ventus prime 4 with my first set of all season tires, the Conti ASC2,and i share my first impression.
The hankook ones were 91v and the conti ones are 94v, but still the conti feels significantly softer even with 0.2 bar extra pressure, something that I like, it makes the car more comfortable. They are silent. The steering is not as sharp as with Hankook's and the braking has a different feeling, but being a compromise solution it seems ok to me. Clearly they are not very sporty, but they are very pleasant to drive. At 15 degrees, dry, the grip is surprisingly good

Given 81% while driving a SEAT Leon Cupra 300ST 4Drive (235/35 R19) on mostly motorways for 7,000 spirited miles
I have to manage my expectations with these tyres, and now the temperatures are dropping and the roads are getting wetter, I’m very pleased with the ASC2…

This is the most powerful car I’ve owned, with 300bhp & 4WD, and having had all-seasons fitted to my previous cars, it felt natural to do the same when it came to replacing the tyres on this car.

When I bought it, the car had Continental Sport Contact 6 fitted, which, even being worn unevenly, and the fronts being saw-toothed, gripped like poop to a blanket and it felt like the car was on rails, even at around 3mm, when I always change my tyres.

Changing to the All Season Contact 2, the sportiness and ultimate grip of the Sport Contacts has gone in dry, warm/hot weather, and I’m taking things a little easier on the ASC2 in those conditions. Having deployed ‘launch control’ a couple of times (where conditions have permitted) there was zero loss of traction, so I have no doubts the ASC2 do grip, they’re just not as precise as a summer tyre when pushing a little on the twisties.

All that being said, the ASC2 is quiet, comfortable and fuel efficient, along with looking like there’s hardly been any wear, even after 7,000 miles, so they suit my mainly 250+ motorway journeys perfectly.

Back to my first comment about temperatures dropping, and the roads getting wetter…in these conditions, the tyre seems to come to life, and I feel more comfortable throwing the car around in these conditions than in the warm and dry - the car’s starting to feel like it’s found the rails again now we’re heading towards winter, and is more fun to drive!

Would I buy again? More than likely, but I’d like to try the Pirelli SF2 (which wasn’t available when I bought the ASC2), or Michelin’s CrossClimate 3 if it’s out by then…tyres are an easy ‘mod’ to change the characteristics of the car to suit you, and I enjoy that!

Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps your decision, whichever tyre you choose!

Given 97% while driving a Skoda Karoq 2.0TSI 4x4 Sportline (225/45 R19) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
I bought these tyres to replace the Bridgestone Dueler summer tyres fitted by Skoda as after 20,000 miles these had worn significantly on the outer edges of the tread.

After a 1,000 miles, they seem to be more comfortable and quieter, but the extra tread depth seems to have the side effect of making the steering slightly less precise. I haven't detected any change to fuel consumption, or grip, but now the temperatures are dropping I expect them to have more grip on winter roads.

I absolutely love these tyres, I’ve always had summer budgets/mid ranges on the van and have been caught in snow a few times in winter and nearly come a cropper, let me tell you I will never go back to budget/mid range summer tyres ever again! these are so much more refined, comfortable and by Jove they’re grippy plus my mpg has gone from 61.7 to 65!

top marks to continental I am one happy customer.

Given 57% while driving a Audi A4 Avant B9 (225/50 R17) on mostly motorways for 5,000 average miles
Too many people here review the tires new.
The initial impression was wow.
After a 1000km the fronts were severly hurt by mild summer driving. I drive A4 b9 2.0tdi FWD and the fronts look bad already (5k km). Someone also mentions this here. The rear look like new. I dont think they will last me good 20k meaning new tires after 2 years.

Comfort and noise is 9/10 but wear i gave 1/10 since I've never seen anything so soft and wearprone. They are litteraly pieces of tread falling off the pattern.

Handling is fine in dry and wet but this tire cannot get my recommendation.
I've looked on multiple other cars and the wear on driving wheels is bad with pieces of tread missing.

I thought mayve I got a bad batch so I should return them but after seing other i lost all hopes.

Attached image is with 1000km.

Please consider writing another review in a few thousand miles and letting us know how those edges clean up. Tyres often have high wear for the first few thousand KM then stabilise. All the independent wear tests show the ASC2 has having excellent wear for the category.
Given 73% while driving a Renault Clio IV TCe 90 (195/65 R15) on mostly country roads for 0 easy going miles
Hello, after watching many tests, I decided on the conti ASC2, I am satisfied with it in all respects, I have not tested the snow and ice but I am sure it will be great. The huge disappointment comes from the wear of the tires. I have them on 2 vehicles.
A 2008 Scenic (2 tires mounted at the front in) 195-65-15 95V DOT 24 made in Slovakia and a Clio 4 mounted in 185-65-15 88H DOT 24 made in France with 4 tires
At the start the sculptures at the maximum were 7.7 mm for the 6 Neus.
After having driven 5300 km on the Scenic I have 6.2 mm left at the front (loss of 1.5 mm), at the rear they are Goodyear
After having driven only 1300 km with the Clio I have 7.2 mm left (-0.5 mm) at the front and 7.5 at the rear.(-0.2 mm)
I check my pressures every month, I am meticulous.
The wear is very high on both cars.
My driving is very smooth and I don't do motorway.
In the tests the conti was the best in longevity.!!
I continue my analysis as the km go by
Have you noticed quite high wear on your ASC2.
Thank you for reading me

Thanks for the detailed review. Regarding the high wear, all tyres have a period at the start of life where the wear is very high, but this quickly stabilizes. I expect this is what you are experiencing and in another 10-15,000km you will be much happier. Please report back when you get there!
Given 94% while driving a Mercedes Benz A180 CDI W176 (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
Coming from a Michelin CrossClimate 2, the thing I had noticed IMMEDIATELY is how much more comfort and less noise these tires offered.

The bumps went from hurting my back to not being felt, and the noise was less pitchy.

The car was as planted in the dry, and responded faster and better to turns. Granted, CC2 was only slightly more planted in the rain, but ASC2 gives you the perfect amount of confidence in the car. Only slightly tried in the snow, and was perfect. But no matter the temperature around, the tire remained lovely, balanced, and linear (predictable).

Weelspin went away (where I had more occasion with CC2, especially in harsh ascends).

The breaking is more linear than the CC2: Whereas the CC2 would "bite" the road immediately, ASC2 is a more linear stop. I find it to be a bit more comfortable way, especially in the city.

And finally, plenty of rim protection in ASC2, something inexistent on CC2.

Overall, really good tire that I will be buying again (I rarely need the summer/winter split) and would absolutely recommend to anyone.

I bought these tires in March. I'll start with the negative feedback. After 10,000 miles on a BMW 520d, I have 4-5mm tread left on them. I think I will have them for another 5000 miles until I have to change them. Compared to Michelin Cross Climate, which I had for 25,000 miles on a BMW 320d, these ones wear too soon. I have tested them on snow only for a bit while I got caught by the Welsh weather. :D They act good. I had grip and good control of the car. In spring/summer conditions they are almost like a summer tire: great grip, handling and short breaking distance. Overall I'm happy with their performance, but not with their wear, considering I'm doing 90% of miles on motorways.

Given 95% while driving a Audi A3 (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 300 spirited miles
First time i have placed anything other than premium summer sport tyres on this car, and i can tell immediately that they are more comfort orientated. There's a more noticeable delay to respond to sharper steering input, but i have no doubt in the tyre's ability to grip after the tyre wall slack is taken up.

Car is more comfortable and i think a little less noisy with these tyres fitted. Appears to handle better than summer sport tyres on gravel tracks with less slip perceived on inclines.

Doesn't seem to be well advertised but i'm impressed with the rim protectors as well, which are generous and should afford the rims a least a chance

These tyres are simply amazing. Have had the Michelin CC2 before and was quite disappointed in them, though being the test winner on most tests. These conti's however exceeded my expectations by quite alot. Excellent grip in dry and wet, in warm and cold weather. Not tested in the snow yet, but I am sure they will not disappoint. Being all season I was afraid it might kill a bit of the driving fun, but it proved to be a real Conti, which means good road feedback, fun to drive, giving reassurance in all conditions. It rather feels like a summer tyre. As for comfort, very surprised! Was a bit hesitant knowing conti is more dynamical than comfortable, but the tyres turn out to be VERY quiet, also comfort is good, it has some firmness but is very capable to filter out bumps in the road. Further more wear is very very good on these and also fuel economy is amazing, better than the Kuhmo summer tyres the car came with. You really can't go wrong with these tyres of you can't choose.

Given 92% while driving a SEAT Leon (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 100 spirited miles
Bought two of these to replace the (punctured) Chinese tires the previous owners had fitted. Previously I had severe traction issues. Pulling away as gently as possible would still cause the front wheels to spin, making me look incompetent and immature despite my best efforts - even before the tires developed a puncture.

I am not a professional driver and I haven’t tested the tires on a track but I appreciate having some road feedback. Compared to what I had before the car feels safer and more predictable.

Now I have better wet grip than I had before in the dry. I can floor the accelerator and the wheels will barely slip. I can’t comment on wear or snow/ice grip yet but I plan to buy more of these as soon as possible. The ride feels quiet and plush, all round a vastly better experience. If you live in a climate with mild temperatures and frequent rain or general dampness you will not be disappointed.

Great tyre, low noise and great comfort vs the Turanza T005's it replaced. so far I have only done just over 2000 miles on them but really happy with the performance of them. its nice to have the confidence in cold weather and wet weather, they are a little worse in the dry but everything is a trade off.

Even though I went up in size on the side wall, I have not seen an increase in fuel consumption, most likely due to the lighter weight of the tyre itself
