265/35 20 Tyre Review Highlights

Continental SportContact 7 rated 67% while driving a Audi Q3
Driving on mostly town for 3800 average miles
I bought these ‘Conti 7s’ as they were touted as the new ‘ants pants of tyres’ to replace my original from new car tyres - Hankooks, which beautifully wore for almost 52,000kms.
Kms now today 19th June - 55,800.
Set of four (4) XL SportContact 7 Continental tyres fitted 10th of April = $2380!
In 3,800kms, I’ve had 2 punctured tyres and a split beading on another requiring replacement!!
NEVER have I EVER had such crap tyres!!
Not cheap at $605 per tyre either!
If I could I’d replace them in a heartbeat.
Latest puncture fixed today.
I’m driving no where different to where I have in the life of this car and driving style is no different.
So you know - I’m a female driver in my early 50s.
I love driving and my car, but am now honestly; literally paranoid driving on these Conti 7 tyres - If I drive out tomorrow, what are my chances of getting home without ANOTHER puncture!?
Do yourself a favor- DONT waste your money on SportContact 7 Continentals!

Yokohama Advan Sport V107 rated 64% while driving a SEAT Cupra Born
Driving on mostly country roads for 800 average miles
Although it has really good grip, it takes a lot of temperature to get that grip on dry roads.
On the other hand the wet grip is grate even when cold.
In both conditions it is very predictable when up to temperature witch gives a lot of confidence when pushing it on fun back roads.

Unfortunately they degrade very fast, thus far I have been driving them for about 800km and there is only about 3mm of tread depth left from the 7.5mm when new.

Overall it's a fun tire with alot of feedback, but I would not recommend it unless you want to buy new ones every summer.

Nankang AS2 rated 96% while driving a BMW 320d XDrive saloon
Driving on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
My first experience of Nankang tyres and I have to say I am really pleased. Would normally buy a premium brand but these came on the car and have pleasantly surprised me. If anything the car is “over” tyred as not standard rims but wet or dry it is predictable and sure footed even spirited driving through local lanes which I do regularly as well as many motorway miles. I’m replacing like for Like as the price is incredibly good and I need nothing else from my tyres.

Pirelli P Zero rated 39% while driving a Porsche 718 GTS
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 spirited miles
These are the worst "performance tyres" I've ever had the misfortune of using. Poor grip in the wet. Enough grip in the dry. Poor feedback and not progressive at the limit.

Nankang Sportnex AS2 Plus rated 43% while driving a Audi A7 3.0TDi Auto
Driving on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
I bought the car with these tyres already on it (although have driven the same model with a different brand tyre). Due to these being on the car when I purchased it, I cannot say what milage is on them. These have good grip in the dry but aren't good in the went, and despite the 4 wheel drive they like to skid a bit without trying! Road noise is also very noticeable. Won't be buying these!

Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D rated 0% while driving a Audi RS6 Avant V10
Driving on mostly motorways for 10000 spirited miles
Installed these tires on my Audi RS6 V10 for winter in Germany.
Traction is ok, but the car feels less precise than with my Pirelli summer tires.
A bit noisy.
Main drawback: cornering on the wet. Loosing grip too often for my taste, especially on roundabouts. Will not buy these again.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 rated 64% while driving a Porsche 986 Boxster S
Driving on mostly motorways for 2000 spirited miles
I need a high performance tyre that will give more miles.

Yokohama ADVAN Sport rated 24% while driving a Audi A7 S Line 245ps
Driving on mostly motorways for 2000 average miles
Shockingly poor OEM tyre choice from Audi.

As another review here states, I thought I had a wheel bearing on the way out on a brand new car. In fact I was convinced of it as I couldn't believe a manufacturer would allow such a poor choice of tyre for a luxury car like the Audi A7.

Audi have agreed to change these to Michelin Pilot Sports which having driven another A7 with these on will make it a whole new car.

Amazingly despite these tyres being replaced after just 2000 miles I can see signs of wear already all around the outer edges so I doubt they would have made 10,000 miles had my ears and patience lasted that long.

Last word on progressiveness. Progressive is what the Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres offer, a gradual and predictable level of grip that would change slowly but surely as tyre wear grew on. These Yokos are progressive like a set of worn 20,000 mile Eagle F1s. They must suit a style of driving somewhere, perhaps Mazda RX8 for drifting but again, not for a Quattro car that is about grip and assertive handling in all weather.
