Given 61% while driving a SEAT Leon Cupra (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 1,500 miles
I'll start with the negatives as this is how it started with my purchase of these tyres. Not that they are bad at all just not quite what they were made up to be. Firstly they do not have what anyone would call a rim protection flange as advertised, sidewall sits flush with the rim as any other normal tyre. The tread looks ugly in the wheel arch too (too many groves). Hopefully it dosent bother most people but I'm quite fussy over small details so it's something to consider. I purchased the XL version hoping for it to he a stiffer all round tyre, turns out the sidewalls are very soft still feels like it's rolling under the car taking bends at any kind of moderate speed. I also noticed the centre groves are not as deep as the outer ones and even with me driving throwing the car round corners the centre was down to 1.6mm and the outer edges were still at 2.6mm and I always maintained the pressure stated in my cars manual. Anyway bad points over this tyre would suit mums driving their children about perfect it has a lot of grip for the price in both wet and dry very predictable and lasts a decent amount of time. Lasted me a total of 15k in a mix of normal and rather spirited drives on the front of a fwd car. It's a good tyre for safety and will corner ok but not as well as the previous zv5 did.

Given 58% while driving a Ford Mondeo TDCI (225/ R17 W) on a combination of roads for 1,069 average miles
Quite disappointed. Replaced worn Goodyear tyres. Chose these based on price and grip / noise ratings more than anything. More comfortable and quiter ride than Goodyear's to start with ........... Until i got onto a motorway ! Immediately felt a wobble / vibration through steering wheel and assumed one of the tyres wasn't balance properly. Could also hear the oscillation as well. Left it a week to see if. It settled but it felt worse once on a long motorway run. On returning i jacked the car up and spun the front wheels in gear. Tyre carcase could be seen moving up and down so appeared not to be round. Tread also appealed to "wander" while spinning. The fitting company decided to re-ballance all 4 wheels. It didn't make any difference. They then took each tyre off of the rims and refitted them and rebalanced them all and then, put the front wheels on the back. Still it vibrates, now through the floorpan more than the steering wheel, which confirms my suspicions that the front tyres (now on the back) were not perfectly round. Just had confirmation that the fitting company, with Avon's agreement, will now replace all 4 tyres under warranty (about 1000+ miles done now). I am very pleased with this decision and hope this resolves the issue.

Given 89% while driving a Jaguar X type 2.0SE diesel (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 2,500 average miles
Replaced the Goodyear Eagles and there are some notable differences. Firstly the grip in the wet isn't as good, the car feels a touch less connected to the road but not in a way that's alarming. There is definitely more tyre noise on rough surfaces, not that its too intrusive but it's definitely there and isn't going away with use. Other than those couple of points, the Avon's are superb and complement the car well. The grip in the dry is excellent and they handle well in tight or twisty bends. Having used various tyre brands in the past, I will be buying them again as they represent a fantastic balance between cost and performance. After so few miles the wear is negligible but they seem a harder compound than the Goodyear Eagles so I would expect them to last a touch longer. Overall, I'm very happy with the Avon ZV7 tyre.

Given 92% while driving a Mazda MX5 (205/45 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
Replaced a set of Dunlop Sportmaxx RT with these Avon tyres, primarily due to the Avon's being around £20 a corner cheaper.
Only covered a few hundred miles, but so far the Avon's are just as good in both the wet and dry.
A little louder in the cabin than the Dunlop's were, but not by a huge amount.
Overall i'm extremely happy with these tyres and would definitely recommend both these or the Dunlop's for an MX5 on 16" wheels!

Given 96% while driving a Volvo Volvo S80 D3 Geartronic (225/50 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 2,000 spirited miles
A superb touring tyre, great comfort and a huge improvement on previous Pirelli P7 and Continentals. A UK made tyre and it seems like they are making these for UK conditions, because all weathers the tyres inspire nothing but confidence. I've had Michelins, Pirellis and Continentals on the front this is certainly the best of the lot. It is a summer tyre of course but warms up very well in Winter, even sub zero so that you don't experience the 'skittiness' of summer tyres in the cold and the wet. Quiet in the cabin, smart looking, the rim protector decent and overall there is nothing not to like. I'm waiting until my rears wear down and will definitely fit these all round. Too soon to really talk about wear, only 2000 miles but overall this in a premium tyre at a mid price and a great choice.

Given 38% while driving a Citroën C2 VTS (195/55 R16) on mostly country roads for 500 spirited miles
ZV7. In a word, extremely disappointed. Compared to my previous ZV5 they inspire no confidence in the wet. They are harsher and noisier than ZV5 and cause excessive fuel consumption (am experiencing a reduction of 10 to 15 mpg at the moment, though tyres are still less than a 1000 miles worn in..) Perhaps when the tyres wear down somewhat things may improve. In fact these tyres are currently SO bad I'm beginning to think that I've been sold fakes from ATS. MIchelins next time. Sorry Avon.

Given 90% while driving a Mercedes Benz CLK 320 Convertible (225/45 R17 W) on mostly motorways for 1 spirited miles
Bought a pair of these to replace a pair of unknown brand rear tyres on my Mercedes CLK320. I bought them partly based on very good reviews, and also because I have fitted Avons onto a variety of motorcycles over the years, and they have always handled and lasted well. These tyres are no exception. Having recently purchased the car which was fitted with some pretty bad budget far-eastern tyres (on a CLK?), the difference was immediately noticeable, especially in a convertible...quiet and smooth rear, loud and soggy front! I have now replaced the front pair, and the handling is more than you have a right to expect at the price, as quiet as you're likely to get, and the confidence that driving a car that weighs a little under 2 tons will stop when it counts in the wet. I'd buy these again in an instant!

Given 81% while driving a Mercedes Benz E220Cdi (225/60 R16) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
Excellent tyres, wet grip is good but improves as the tyre wears, with near silent road running in my Mercedes E220 Estate. Dry grip is great for a touring tyre and is as good is more expensive premium brands. A great tyre!

Great tyre again form Avon, good feeling in the wet, and grips well on wet greasy roundabouts. No problems.

Given 83% while driving a Volkswagen up! (185/55 R15) on for 0 miles
Driven around a thousand miles on these ZV7s and absolutely love 'em. I know it's only a VW High Up! but grip is great in both wet and dry and equal or better than the Contis it came with. The big difference is how quiet they are, can't really comment about wear as it's such a light car and not a huge mileage. Recommend.
