Avon ZV7 Reviews - Page 10

Given 38% while driving a Citroën C2 VTS (195/55 R16) on mostly country roads for 500 spirited miles
ZV7. In a word, extremely disappointed. Compared to my previous ZV5 they inspire no confidence in the wet. They are harsher and noisier than ZV5 and cause excessive fuel consumption (am experiencing a reduction of 10 to 15 mpg at the moment, though tyres are still less than a 1000 miles worn in..) Perhaps when the tyres wear down somewhat things may improve. In fact these tyres are currently SO bad I'm beginning to think that I've been sold fakes from ATS. MIchelins next time. Sorry Avon.

Given 90% while driving a Mercedes Benz CLK 320 Convertible (225/45 R17 W) on mostly motorways for 1 spirited miles
Bought a pair of these to replace a pair of unknown brand rear tyres on my Mercedes CLK320. I bought them partly based on very good reviews, and also because I have fitted Avons onto a variety of motorcycles over the years, and they have always handled and lasted well. These tyres are no exception. Having recently purchased the car which was fitted with some pretty bad budget far-eastern tyres (on a CLK?), the difference was immediately noticeable, especially in a convertible...quiet and smooth rear, loud and soggy front! I have now replaced the front pair, and the handling is more than you have a right to expect at the price, as quiet as you're likely to get, and the confidence that driving a car that weighs a little under 2 tons will stop when it counts in the wet. I'd buy these again in an instant!

Excellent tyres, wet grip is good but improves as the tyre wears, with near silent road running in my Mercedes E220 Estate. Dry grip is great for a touring tyre and is as good is more expensive premium brands. A great tyre!

Great tyre again form Avon, good feeling in the wet, and grips well on wet greasy roundabouts. No problems.

Given 83% while driving a Volkswagen up! (185/55 R15) on for 0 miles
Driven around a thousand miles on these ZV7s and absolutely love 'em. I know it's only a VW High Up! but grip is great in both wet and dry and equal or better than the Contis it came with. The big difference is how quiet they are, can't really comment about wear as it's such a light car and not a huge mileage. Recommend.

Transforms a very good CLK into a true sports car.

The bad thing about putting up a good report is the more people wants to buy them the more it costs to buy but given these tyres are only £60-70 front and rears fitted they are a bargain.

Not many reviews on the go but have driven over 2 million miles and I wont buy any other brand now, last tyres were conti contacts they were good but not in this class in the wet they grip so well much better than the contacts,in the dry about the same.

CLK has very good TC but since I have had these since August 16 the TC has not come on once which I thought it was BROKEN.

They are near silient in day to day running but this depends on car model.

Not had snow yet but spoke to one of their reps who stated AVON wanted these to be the best winter, summer tyre on the market, we will see!

In 5000 miles not had much wear to be honest I think 30,000 should be easy at current rate and getting around 2mpg more than the very good contacts so average upto 39-42mpg at 65mph average.

Got to be the best value tyre on the market, think they are the best I have ever had no matter what price I have paid in the past.

Very good grip in the dry and wet. Quiet tyre ( certainly better than previous continentals and goodyears.) I can't comment on how good at the limit as not been there, also wear rate will get updated after a few thousand miles. A point to note: the rim protection is really non existent so if you have convexed alloys be aware. For the price I can't get a better tyre they really are good and mine were made in England!! So long as the wear is acceptable I will definitely buy them again.

Great tyres. I drive to the limit and these inspire confidence. Especially in the wet. Ive had several makes. Very soft Yokohamas were my favourite. These are really good tyres. So maybe not super sporty but a great all rounder. The grip is impressive especially in the wet. My car was skitish and had very poor grip before but now is planted. I would say they inspire confidence.
Only negative would be they seem to roll around a bit on the motorway and i find myself correcting the steering a fair anount. Apart from this I am very happy with them. The ride and comfort is nice, which you want most of the time, and when i put my foot down they respond admirably. I would probably regret buying a different tyre so will stick to these.. Great for the price.. Fuel econemy. Cant really coment as not had them that long but maybe a few less miles to the gallon. Although i have been flooring it quite a bit!!

Great dry grip in any direction! Wet grip is excellent when starting and stopping; they do slide a bit when pushed to the limits although you do have to push it very hard!
The ride is smooth at all speeds although this does limit the feedback you get for them.
Overall they are fantastic value and they definitely keep up with tyres over twice the price.
