Questions and Answers for the Bridgestone Turanza T005 RFT

2021-09-17 - Are these tyres good it only has 3 reviews but its very positive.my vehicle is a bmw 3 series gt which has continental premium contact 6 RFT. I want to know of its worth getting these over the continental. As the bmw has body roll when driving and the bridgestone are known to have greater resistance to rolls. Will this be a better fit.

I've never seen a runflat test, however Bridgestone Driveguard runflat technology is meant to be good, so in theory this could be a good option!

Top 3 Bridgestone Turanza T005 RFT Reviews

Given 87% while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TSI 200HP (225/50 R18) on mostly town for 3,000 average miles
Well i'm pretty surprized by comfort of this RFT version that have a star sign on sidewall. This tire combines ruggedness with comfort and noise level. It feels very responsive while maneuvering while each changing of direction feels tight, grippy and very predictibale. Car follows traction with just a little more latency than potenza tires. Wet driving on these tires just fine but i suppose it has its limits but again fair enough for city drivers. Dry & Wet braking is excellent. I think it is a good choise for those who lives in urban conditions, suitable for highways very stable on high speeds 200+ km/h. This is touring tire for city and for long distances but obviously not for track.

Given 69% while driving a BMW 530dA M sport Touring (245/40 R19) on a combination of roads for 6,000 average miles
Excellent dry grip and feedback, wet grip a little vague. Tyre noise on motorways was exceptionally low. I've had these tyres on for 8 months and covered 6000 miles and they're done. Expected nearer 10k for these.

These were factory issue for my BMW 330i G21.
Initially good ride quality (better than PZ4 RFT) however, towards the end of the their life they became very noisy and hard feeling. One tyre developed a bulge. Poor wear.

Ended up replacing them with Goodyear Asymmetric 4 go flats and they are substantially quieter and better riding.

Given 66% while driving a BMW 330i (225/45 R18) on mostly motorways for 3,000 average miles
I have recenrly fitted a set of Bridgestone Turanza T005 Run Flat on my BMW f30 330i. After 5000km I can say they're a pretty good touring tyre. Quite than the Conti Sport contact 5 RF* I bought the car with. They have slightly better fuel economy too. Quiter than the Contis and they provide much more direct steering feel too. No pretensions as a sporty tyre, and with 185kw and 370nm of torque, I can get them to lose grip when provoked. Hard acceleration from pull away, gets the Traction control activated easily. But I wanted a less sporty tyre this time. Comfort is nicer than "sportiness" as most of my driving is short inner city and long inter city drives of 150 to 400km trips. The Turanza T005 is maybe a bit soft, as I see it's already a bit worn with only 5000km on.

I have had to replace 2 front tyres in 5,000 miles due to tyre ruptures from potholes on motorways. Fortunately, the tyres protected the rims which did not need replacement.
