Bridgestone Turanza T005 Reviews - Page 4

Given 70% while driving a Mercedes Benz CLA 220d (225/45 R18) on mostly motorways for 28,000 easy going miles
I’ve never scored car tyres previously, so no real bench mark to go from. I drive a CLA 220d & have had the same tyres for nearly 3 yrs & done mostly motorway driving & drive fairly sensible. The car has done approx. 28k. What I have noticed is the treat is generally really good, however the edges have degraded considerably as the rubber looks like it’s breaking down. On the odd occasion I’ve required to put my foot down to get away from a junction clearly, they tyres struggle for traction (this is definitely something I do not like at all)

Given 60% while driving a Toyota Sienna (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 80 easy going miles
I bought these tires for my wife's Toyota Sienna van. We got them because we wanted a quiet ride and they were top rated for quiet. However, after proper rotation and 17K total mileage, they are completely worn out. Bridgestone gave me some credit but not enough. I WILL NEVER BUY BRIDGESTONE AGAIN. The tires and warranty are terrible.

Given 74% while driving a Dacia Duster 4x4 (215/65 R16) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
driving around Crete mostly. bad road network, many dust roads too... bridgestone t005 had some great reviews and gave it a try a year and a half ago.. in need/search of new ones at the moment... tyre wear is normal for this mileage bit i would expect better.. nice grip on wet/dry, noize is unoticeable.

Given 65% while driving a Volvo c70 cabrio 2.4 sport (225/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 10,000 average miles
Fitted into Volvo c70 180hp. Both front tyres fitted in March, in feb following year, they were close to legal limit on MOT. This is 10k in 11 months and nearly gone. Half of what I could achieve from Michelins or continentals. Very poor economy.

Given 71% while driving a Mercedes Benz E350 (265/35 R18) on a combination of roads for 6,500 spirited miles
These summer tyres had a great wet grip A rating and a B rating on fuel consumption. If the roads a dry tyres seem to handle very well although the rears are wearing quickly. However if I knew how badly they performed during the colder wetter months I would not of fitted them. May look for an all season tyre next.

Given 73% while driving a Volkswagen Golf MK8 1.5 Style (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 13,000 easy going miles
I purchased this as a used vehicle from VW Motorline Crawley .Found front tyres had worn down to 3 mm left after 8,400 miles. I changed front to rear and managed another 5.000 miles ,so will put fronts to rear when new tyres fitted.I hope with sensible driving to achieve another 15.000 miles.

Given 30% while driving a Audi A6 Avant 2tdi (245/45 R18) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
These tyres are very poor. Wet and dry grip is average at best but their wear rate is atrocious.. I have had these tyres on 15 months and approx 8000 miles and they are now at the end of their life. I usually use Continental Premium Contact which normally last me two years and 20,000 miles, but this car came with these tyres. I’m not a heavy accelerator and would consider my driving average. £140 for each tyre to only last 8000 miles is very poor in my opinion.

Given 80% while driving a Lexus CT200h (215/60 R16) on mostly motorways for 40,000 spirited miles
These tires are great. Went a couple of sizes bigger to combat road noise. Ideally wanted 205/60r16 but they were out of stock. Going larger does have its drawback, mainly on road feedback during cornering, but the lift made it easier to clear bumps and humps. Ultimately, noise was significantly reduced (though i cant remember what was my previous sets). These tires were great in dry, wet, noise. Once you pass about half way mark, the noise started to come in and at 1/4 left (which is about where im at at the moment and am ready for a new set), wet handling and aqua planning distance starts to deteriorate. I feel that they personally wear out relatively fast, and are somewhat pricey. Will try out some goodyear efficient performance next, heard some good stuff and they are slightly cheaper.

Given 91% while driving a Citroën xsara picasso (185/65 R15) on mostly country roads for 6,000 average miles
I have been fitting the tyres in the dimension 185/65/15 88T in Citroen Picasso for 2 months now and I have travelled 9000km. The driving sensation is very good, the information coming to the driver from the road complete. The tyre has a very good ride feel similar to the top of the genre, the noise is more intense, but not annoying. It resembles the noise level of a worn tire. In terms of comfort it is quite good but not the best I have felt with other tires (continental, Michelin, Hankook), the intense irregularities you feel the most.In its driving behavior the tire is excellent. On dry roads the ultimate grip, stability on straights (150km) and turns and on good to very good roads. Braking took once on a bad road it worked very well, with a 70km stop without abs in about 20m. In the wet you do not realize that it is wet if you are moving on a moderate - good road surface with a speed of up to 110km. In addition to excellent grip braking although it didn't take anything abrupt it was in a very high result. Conclusion was a very good purchase, I confirm the international assessment tests on this particular bridgestone t005 and it is highly recommended.

Given 59% while driving a Volkswagen TOUAREG V6 TDI (275/45 R20) on mostly motorways for 17,000 average miles
Absolute rubbish for Touareg, DONT FIT. THIS ON A TOUREG. Hardly 17 000 kms done, Worn- out mainly driving in city at 60 km/h 25% on long distance trips on tar, at 130km/h. Good tyre for handling, but getting only 17000km, tyre should be 50% of cost of Pirelli Scorpios that lasted 38 000km

Given 81% while driving a Peugeot 508 SALOON (215/55 R17) on mostly motorways for 30,000 spirited miles
I have them on my Peugeot 508. I drive mostly on motorways, but sometimes also on poor-quality country roads and in a big city. These tyres are quite decent - nice feeling, good handling and grip on both dry and wet roads. Maybe in really heavy rain, they could be a little bit better. But in all the conditions, they're easily predictable and safe. Wear is good in my point of view. I have done 30.000 miles, which is the longest distance I have ever driven with one set of tyres. Their biggest disadvantage is noise. It's not a disaster, but Goodyear Efficient Grip and maybe even winter tyre Bridgestone LM005 Blizzak are more quiet. And I think that on Goodyears, my fuel consumption was slightly lower.

Given 54% while driving a Volkswagen Touran sport TDi (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 7,000 average miles
I have these on a 2005 Touran, 1.7T weight but I have no rear seats or middle seats, so even lighter The fronts have lasted 7K before I'm at approx 3mm.... Not impressed on that front, in the dry, I love them. I often drive "eco" in regards to motorway, occasionally I'll put my foot down and feel like I'm vaguely near their limit. I've had them squeal two-three times in 7K miles so overall they do grip well but they don't last well. In the 7K the majority has been on the A1/A14/motorway, the little bit has been city and just urban overall where I'm a lot less inclined to put my foot down. In the wet, I haven't over/understeered, they've always gripped throughly well, stopping, I rarely get ABS to kick in unless it's really wet and I've found the painted white lines, I've had the occasional 80 down to 30-20-0, they're reassuringly stop very, very well. I do not plan to purchase them again though, 7K miles to be at 3mm on the front is extremely poor. I have a family member who drives a lot more spirited, with michelins, they've lasted 20k and still have another 20k overall to go if not more. I have enjoyed them in their limited lifespan but I'm not reassured.
