Great winter tyres. Fitted them to my wife's car and she stopped being nervous of the snow almost overnight...it transformed the handling in freezing, icy and snowy conditions.

Very firm on the road, and still handling well even now the weather has warmed slightly (although due for swapping off next week).

I also tried the Alpin A4, which were very good too, although these had the edge. Very impressed indeed.

Despite this being the first time with winter tyres, I can't see me ever going another winter on normal tyres ever again!

These are extraordinary tyres. I stuck them on my A6 Quattro at the beginning of the snowy weather in Southern England. The change in grip was simply astonishing. I could almost drive completely normally in snowy/icy conditions with virtually no loss of grip. Driving up steep hills covered in snow was not a problem, much to the amazement of other road users who thought I had snow chains on.

As the weather warms up the car is starting to lose its tight grip on the road, but that is to be expected. About to swap for summer tyres (lets hope the snow stays away - you never know).

Bring on next winter - these seem to be able to handle anything the British weather can throw at them - a joy to drive on!

Very good winter tyre, traction they provide in snow is just amazing.
Would buy them again definitely. Also, I recommend them to everyone. They are a bit pricier, but they are worth every penny.

I have had these on my Audi for the last 4000 miles, used them in UK for a bit and have been in the alps for the last 2 months (the ultimate test), Haven't had to put my snow chains on once. Very impressed, No mountain road covered in snow seems to be too steep. Even in the dry twisty bits they handle better than I thought they would and quieter than my normal tyres! Definitely recommend them!

As a tyre for normal wet and dry conditions they're pretty good...as a winter tyre for snow etc they are amazing. I just wished I'd bought them at the start of December. Braking is the most impressive, whereas before breaking on snow downhill would just result in the ABS making a noise and the car sliding all over the place now that car stops properly every time. Similarly inclines that before would probably have just resulted in either the traction control strangling the power and not going anywhere or wheelspin are now tackled without fear. Obviously one should always drive according to the conditions but what is so much better is that while summer tyres will give up their grip suddenly and without warning if one hits ice or something I find these Continentals are much more progressive in the release of the grip, allowing you to back off before its too late. The car's handling is a bit vaguer at high speeds on dry roads with them on but that's probably to be expected since the rubber has more flex in it.

These are the first set of winter tyres i have purchased so can't compare them to others but I am very impressed, the amount of grip in the snow is unbelievable. Best of all is the braking abilities, I found I could break quite hard on the snow.

Fitted Continental Winter Contact TS830s two weeks before the snow arrived. Until the snow arrived did not notice any difference to my Avon summer tyres. Woke up to find thick overnight snow and drove to work as normal, hardly any other cars on the road just a few 4x4s struggling along. I totally outperformed cars like Landrover Discos cursing them for delaying me. On snow and ice the car goes and stops as if on a wet road. These tyres are worth every penny for the winter.

Fitted these tyres just before the snow came Dec 2010, nothing short of astounding, not only on ice, slush, fresh and packed snow but also in the wet. They are much quieter than the Nokian’s they replaced (could only stretch to two fronts) comparison with summer tyres (Nokian’s) which remained on the back was like night and day in the mixed conditions experienced to date, easily coped with journeys from Wales to Birmingham and also to South coast during the bad snow where other (even 4x4) cars were struggling. Have only done about 2000 miles since fitting so not sure about wear but you don't get this type of tyre for high mileage. Have had many other winter/snow tyres previously mostly in Europe some even with studs, but these are a quantum leap above anything else I have experienced in such conditions. Would unreservedly recommend to other drivers.

As soon as I'd bought a set for the front of my Auris I was off to the Alps in November 2010. A fantastic experience only blighted by the cheaper rear tyres. I spent 3 weeks driving on snow with great traction. Even when the snow was dumping heavily on alpine roads at 1,000m up (near Chamonix) I didn't need to use my chains. This was in total contrast to the previous season using socks on (good) all weather tyres and I'm now hooked on good winter tyres. Returning to UK in first week of December I had a much better trip to Yorkshire than just about anybody else. As already stated by someone else I was able also to take advantage of unused outside lanes saving a lot of time. Great tyres. I'm now off to replace the existing rear tyres, which continuously broke away on almost every snow covered corner.

Purchased these tyres on the first day of snow, seem to be great in snow and allowed me to use uncleared side roads when mains blocked by queueing traffic.
Apart from being great in the snow I was also very suprised how quiet they are on dry roads as they seem much quieter than my summer tyres.

I listed my tyres as Conti TS830 as they are from the same stable but they are in fact Gislaved Nordfrost.
Yesterday morning I had to drive my Citroen Picasso from Rugby to London and back. Unfortunately (for others, not me) the central section of my journey through Buckinghamshire & Bedfordshire the M1 was down to 1 lane & temperature dropped to minus 7 . When that lane slowed to 40 MPH I pulled into lane 3 on 2-3 inches of dirty snow. I drove the next 20 miles almost on my own at least 10MPH faster - often more, than those stuck in lane 2. I was eventually joined by one of the many Range Rovers I had overtaken and a German registered Passat - obviously on snow tyres too. I am now retired (from the tyre trade) why do so few people in UK realize that they need these tyres in the winter. It is a win win situation.

I had 4 Continental Eco Contact 3 tyres fitted to my BMW 118D hatch and in decembers really bad snow conditions my car was stuck on the drive and I couldnt get out the street for 4 days. once the snow cleared i went to kwik-fit and fitted 4 of these babies for £383. I believe this is best decision I`ve made this year certainly better than swaping the BMW for a 4x4.
The BMW acts like a snow plough now, it tackles the snow effortlessly, like the snow isnt even there.It boosts your confidence in driving in these conditions and with the BMW being rear wheel drive they have a profound effect on the cars stability,basically its glued to the road, unlike before.

If you own a BMW get these tyres now, you will be amazed at the improvement,
I will never own another car without having winter tyres on stand-by, I`m a total convert to this safety improvement. hopefully the scottish parliment will make it a manatory requirement to have winter tyres fitted to all vehicles in he winter months that way everybody will be able travel safely on the snow/ice covered roads.
