The federal is a strange one, extraordinarily cheap, surprisingly good in the dry, absolutely shocking in the wet. These were fitted brand new on my Rx8 R3 when I bought it and have to admit I was tempted to get rid of them before driving the car away from the forecourt so much was my concern. I gave them a shot, after getting rid of the release agent I was pleasantly suprised, dry grip, feel, feedback from the road all good, sharp turn in, little sidewall flex but still with a decentish ride. On track they cope admirably but will overheat when pushed for a few laps, grip is very good (dry) and even a second gear 90 def right full throttle couldn't unhitched the rear. Here comes the negative and it's a good one. One morning a little rain had fallen temps were cool and all he!! broke loose, when cold and damp these tyres are deadly if your not on your toes. Even straight line acceleration at half throttle sets the TC off, and don't even breath on the throttle if you can see a corner. As it turns out I've come to enjoy the jackal and Hyde tyre, it does suit the rear drive playful character of the car and once you know how bad they are in the wet you drive to it and can play when you want. If however your priorities are more safety avoid these like the plague. Back on a positive they never seem to wear...

Bought car with this tyres on rear-drive base installed (BMW 320d 2009) - they are OK on DRY road... nothing much to say there, but on WET there is no grip at all ... living in Ireland you mostly driving @wet roads - and thats terrible experience with this Federal 595 EVO RUN-FLAT tyres...
`Drifting` at most of the roundabouts - thank god for perfect working BMW traction control...
Tryin to wear them down little bit more and will replace them with some other brand as Pirelli or Hankook - as they cost more less the same... Defo NOT BUYING AGAIN and if you would like to be safe on the wet roads - you should avoid them too...

Unfortunately i've had the misfortune of owning two pairs of these tires.

First off, good points: Dry grip is fairly decent, they wear well, road feeling is fairly good (in the dry)

Unfortunately though the good points for me don't make up for the absolutely non-existant wet grip! Road noise is terrible and they are uncomfortable compared to any other tyre i've used. The biggest point being though the shocking wet grip.

Would never buy these again myself and if you do ever own any be aware when your driving on wet roads

I had these fitted to my bmw 320i (rwd). BIG MISTAKE. In the wet they are by far the worst tyres i have had fitted, on the slightest wet road the car is dynamocs are terrable. The car will over steer and the backend becomes very happy to slide.
I've been driving for 16 years, owned over 8 cars and had more tyres changes than hot dinners and i warn everyone to stay away from these tyres!. I may not be experienced as alot of other drivers out there but i beleive these tyres are death traps. I took mine off way before they were due for replacing as i feared i would end up in a ditch along the A-roads i commute up and down.
Initially the competitive prive drew me to choose them, but never again. Please steer clear if you value your safety and want to keep your car on the road.
These may suit someone who wants a set of drifting tyres, but as road tyres please steer clear, no matter how well proced they are!.
Overall score 0.5/10. To be honest i would not even score them!.

Came on car and were new when purchased 4000 miles ago!
Can't put up with the noise any longer going for Dunlop run flats to get rid of these due to noise

the car will just understeer in a straight line. so so dangerous. do not have these tyres on a car that will drive on wet roads!!!!!!

i like these tires… they were cheap and perform quite well. i had dunlop direzza's before and those are obviously better. but these tires were like 1/2 the price and since my camber isnt adjustable (yet) and the tires were going to get abnormal wear, i just opted for these. but like i said, they have been performing solidly. one big difference over the direzza's is that these tires do make a lot more noise under hard cornering, or when the wheels are spinning. but all in all i've been very happy with them. on my awd car i've ran mid 11's with them, and then be able to take the car in the twisties with only changing the tire pressure.

These tires are good only for drifting and destroying them on the race track for practice! Trust me, they are no good for public roads, especially in the wet conditions. Worst tire I ever owned!

I have a purpose built Track/Street car putting out 470KW and these are by far the worst tyres I have ever driven on, the understeer is pathetic and damn right dangerous to a novice driver who thinks they are Fangio! Luckelyi am a very good driver with 30 years plus racing experience (and before anyone says "why did you buy them?" They were on the car).
If you value your life stay away from these weak excuse for tyres and if its all you can afford catch a bus, save some more pennys and save your life!!!

used for two seasons and half, excellent in the dry, great sealing, behave very well on the moisture on wet you have to be sensitive, but it is a matter of course seen the design created more for the dry than for the wet. I have tried other brands, all in the third year became hard and with low grip, these federal are still soft and have lost little respect to the new, now my hips are almost smooth and just slightly exceed the 70km / h to lose grip in the puddles. I'd buy another one right away, but I would try the Nexen N9000 to have less problems aquaplaning

One of the best ultra high performance road tyres I've used & I'm still using it. I was initiated skeptical about this tyre having used Pirelli P7 & Bridgestone RE001 for 3 years. After a car enthusiast recommended me to try it out, I did & I have to admit the results from my past 3 years of usage... Not excellent but Great!

I travel an average of 100km per day with an average speed of 90kmh... throws it hard on corners with engine braking. One thing I rarely do, hard braking. This preserves my thread wear by a lot - engine braking is the key. & proper air pressure will do :)

It's not the best tyres on wet surface but much better than Pirelli P7. My favorite moment is driving through puddles of water - the water cuts out hard & fast outward! I keep it to 90-100kmh to prevent aquaplaning. By far, I haven't experienced aquaplaned on 595EVO.

I'm changing into my 2nd set of 595EVO soon... cos it's value for money!

These things are the worst performance tyre I have ever used and out right dangerous even on a marginally damp roads.
With over 25 years of driving experience in performance cars these are the worst tyres ever bar none.
The compound is way too hard to the point that after 20,000 km’s they still look brand new.(I am not Joking)
In the Dry braking performance is really bad and in the wet, absolutely dismal.
These were on a Mazda RX8 GT, 225/40ZR19. Even with a 5% throat angle on a slight curve with very light water on the road the rear would break loose. You would swear that you were driving on worn out slick tyres every time it rained. The Mrs finally spat the dummy and refused to drive the car until we put better tyres on it.
If you want a tyre to go drifting this is the tyre for you as it just won’t ware out. If you like living don’t put these on a road car.
