If money was no object i'd buy these time and time again, however getting 2500 miles from a set of 'road tyres' is not something I can afford when they're ?130 each.

It's not that they're no good or that the car doesn't handle well - it's just that you can see 4 streaks of soft rubber coating every roundabout you've just been round and when you're in Milton Keynes .... that's a lot of roundabouts.

In short if you are heavy footed, drive a car with a heavy front end and don't own shares in Goodyear - look elsewhere as these just don't last.

Usually have GSD3's but as they were becoming more difficult to get hold of I decided to give the new Eagle F1's a go. Good grip in both the dry and wet. However, I wouldn't say I drove in a particularly spirited manner yet I only managed to cover 6000 miles before they were down with the tread wear indicator, which is disappointing. Will be trying something else next time.

Bought these tyres after much research back in March 2008. Have since completed about 25,000 they now need replacing. The Alfa GT is already a superbly balanced and handling car and this tyre compliments it perfectly. Grip, both wet and dry has stayed superb ever to an embarrassingly low tread level, what's more they're much quieter and more comfortable than the previous Potenza RE050 tyres.

How good are they at the limit? Actually don't know, I push hard and my nerve gives out before the car/tyre combination, even in very heavy rain. Even in the worst conditions I've found no tendency to aquaplane.

Driving is a mixture of motorway and fast country lanes so quite happy about the wear and never suffered a puncture.

Would I recommend them? Definitely ?? in fact, not prepared to fit anything else.

Bought two of these for the rear after the previous rubber made me seriously uneasy in the wet. Read the reviews and nothing seemed to come close. Was a little bit sceptical about the reviews, thought they might be exaggerated, but decided to give them a go.
This really is a great tyre, hampered only by it's lack of durability. Wet and dry grip is unparalleled. Communicates nicely when it's about to let go, though to be honest, you need to really push them to get them sliding... more than what would be considered responsible and mature. Regardless of the weather, they inspire confidence.
The only thing that would stop me from buying them again (which I promised myself I would after the first month of driving) is the rate at which they wear. Obviously these tyres wear quicker than a hard compound tyre, and the soft compound is a trade-off for the grip levels. But I still would say the wear is just too extreme. I've covered 6000 miles, and I'll be lucky to get another 1000 out of them. It was all going well till I went on a bit of a road trip through Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro in summer. With temperatures between 30 and 40degC, the rubber was getting ridiculously soft, to the extent that you could feel it disintegrating when you ran a finger across the tread. I could almost picture the chucks flying off as I drove along the coast.
To conclude, if money's not an issue, buy these, I've not experience anything better. Yes, they are expensive compared to some others, and I wasn't impressed by the wear rate, but you just can't beat that level of grip on a normal (non slick or semi-slick) tyre. As for whether I'd buy them again... well, I'll need to have a word with the bank manager ;)

The old eagle F1's were fantastic but hese are at a new level. We were worried that the tyre would not be as good in the wet as the old F1 but rest assured, they are just as good if not better.
Feedback through the tyres is excellent and very progressive up to the limit.
Work better once warmed for a few miles of heavy driving but good grip from cold.

This tire is a huge improvement to OEM's Potenza 050A RF ....
the grip is excellent, cornering too...also the braking distance is improved... I recommend this tire to any BMW owner.....

Had used Pirelli P zero Rosso's for years, but was aware now of tram lining and decided to make a change, after reading feed back from this site, I decided to go with The Asymmetric, wow, what a tyre, has transformed everything about the handling of my car for the better. These tyres are like slicks, with grooves in them, they get hot and sticky, who cares how long they last with grip like this.

Vast improvement on RE050a run flat OEMs. Better steering feel, massively better in wet, quieter and more comfortable - really improves how an already great car drives. Wear at this early stage also looks pretty good.

They seem to produce a never ending stream of grip, in both the dry and the wet.

Impressive stopping power, as well as complimenting my cars steering response too. Will buy again.

ive been driving now for 22yrs and i can honestly say they are by far the best tyres ive ever experienced ,especially in wet conditions they hold the road exceptionally well.travelling has become more comfortable compared to other tyres would highly recommend and certainly buy again .FIRST CLASS************

Had the F1s fitted to my SL, 3 years ago, replacing the rubbish Continentals .. To say my car was transformed, is an understatement, just reversing it off the ramps, I could feel the difference .. Take my word for it, these F1s are Awesome .. Dry handling, ride comfort and feedback are all outstanding, but where this tyre comes into it's own, is in the wet (very useful in the U.K.) There seems to be no limit to it's grip and stopping power .. I must agree though, with a previous poster, that after standing overnight, these tyres do need 3 or 4 miles to warm up and even out, and you do notice it .. So far, I have covered 20,000 miles mixed driving with them and there is around 4 or 5 thousand miles left in them, with no apparent deterioration .. Would I buy these tyres again ? .. Is the Pope, catholic ?

Only had the tyres for about 2 months now but the difference can be felt instantly. These tyres are simply amazing, they make the tyres I previously had (Toyo T1-S) feel very average . The dry grip is fantastic, but in the wet they are untouchable. The tyres make the car hugely exploitable in the bends and perhaps offer more sheer grip than handling but still approach their limit with no fuss making it obvious when you are pushing too hard. All in all it feels like a new car, handles like its on rails, just wish they were available in more sizes but I suppose they will come in time. Would definitely buy again.
