Passed on these tires killometrov 8000. I expected more from them. On a wet road is great, too, with kofortom all ok. But the car's handling is poor. My winter Marshal which is 2 times cheaper rides much better.

Great tyre, I would recommend paying that little bit more and getting these. Apart from lasting 45000 miles on the front of my 2013 Mazda 6 without rotating, these are quiet and efficient tyres. From the efficiency point of view don't expect massive jump in figures but I measured between 3-5 mpg improvement. When you first have these fitted you'll notice straight away you have to let off the accelerator sooner when coming to junctions as the rolling resistance is low and doesn't slow you down! They are pretty quiet to begin with but like any tyre as the tread gets to the minimum the noise increases a little. Wet handling is great and they even squeal in the wet if pushed hard!

left a review on 29th of september and here I'am 13,000km's later (8000miles more or less) with 3 months of usage.
my overall statements didnt change much but I would like to say:


Pros:

1) excellent aquaplaning resistance , these tyres are what is needed for F1 drivers in rain I mean the only word that comes to mind is AMAZING, you feel extremely confident in rain , deep puddles etc not a bit of movement ,steering pull etc very well balanced and stable.


2) so far wear is not as bad as described, 13000kms mostly aggresive driving and I still can say they atleast appear as they did when I bought them.


Cons:

1) braking,grip is not the best in dry infact almost every tyre brand including falkens outperform these tyres with ease.

2) user has to be very careful with tyre pressure, these tyres require a good 2-3psi more over the recommend door labeled OEM spec as the walls are too soft.

not doing so causes tyres to be underinflated and feel sloopy and most likely wear faster and uneven.

Good year Efficient grip performance tyres when compared to the set of hardly worn budget tyres fitted to my used approved vehicle when purchased, are in a different league. The premier league.

For my car they may cost roughly double per corner (approx. £95) compared to a budget brand but at the end of the day, a tyre is the only thing between being on the road or in an accident.

After switching from a part worn budget set (the rears still had 7mm) to the Goodyear EGP’s the differences were simply vast and remain very impressive several thousand miles later. The fronts are now approaching the half way stage, but are still excellent in all areas with improved MPG (approx. 3mpg), reduced road noise and improved refinement (particularly on Motorway), superb wet handling and braking, improved ride quality due to compliant side walls and tramlining completely eliminated from my vehicle. The only slightly negative things I can find to say about them are the wear rate looks a little bit above average and drivers who like to drive believing they are Lewis Hamilton may find them a touch ‘soft’ in the corners, but honestly that is it. The Goodyear EGP’s are some of the best overall tyres I have purchased in over 25 years and hundreds of thousands of miles driving.

Cheap tyres are a false economy which compromise the safety and handling of your vehicle. Don’t compromise and strongly consider these for your vehicle.

Excelent performance both on dry and wet, and quiet on the road. But they lasted only 26.000kms/16.000mls, with normal driving in city and motorways without high speeds. They maintain the good performance till the end, even with it's high wear they have good traction and decent wet behavior.

I bought these after having Yokohama tyres as standard. First thing i noticed was that the side walls are very soft but this doesn't make them particularly sloppy, instead it allows you to feel the limits of grip very easily and these tyres are very grippy under all areas even though they are rated b for fuel economy which is good! Wet traction is almost as good as dry. also stopping distances in the dry was brilliant. These tyres are also very quiet.

Just a good tyre for a city car like a Fiat 500. Good grip in dry and wet.

I drove 80% motorway, 10% city and 10% country roads at normal speed. The tires are better con dry and wet compare Michelín Energy Saber but after 38.000kms the fronter tires hace only 1,6mm. Very high wear.

the guys using size 205/55/16 with this model who are happy are either on drugs or have never actually used quality tyres in there life period! please read on carefully.


to begin I'am a Mechanical Engineer and a car fanatic so be sure that you wont find many that will go into as much detail as I have.

another thing I want to point out is that I work for a company whom has been using the same leasing company of which we get our cars replaced yearly after doing about 60k kms driving.

since 2012 I have receieved 4 units of the same identical car which is the Clio 4 1.5 dci 90hp since then I have used the OEM tyre, sold it brand new to replace with others, worn a few and got replacements etc and my findings are:


1) Continental ECO 5 (The OEM tyre) definatley the longest lasting (80k kms), the best feedback, by far the best traction, loud by not unbearable, stiff so not the comfiest.


2) Nokian Line, lasted 40k kms, about dead center in terms of comfort within this list, traction cant find any reason to complain, noise again dead center.

3) Michelin Primacy 3 almost identical performance in every term with the Nokian Line except for that its a little more softer and quieter but just slightly.


4) Falken ziex 914, very quiet at the beginning gets louder as used, lifespan is about 40km kms, traction not bad but certainly not as reviewed and stated on this site at all, rather stiff when compaired with the rest except its better than the contis.


5) Goodyear EGP , after ready countless statements that its smooth,comfy and grip is above average I went and bought a set as the wife is due for a baby in 2 weeks and I want them to be comfy in the car.

oh dear god what a surpize this set was for me, guys this tyre is not at all that comfy when compaired to primacy 3 and nokians I can assure you they outperform in the comfort zone.


these tyres traction wise are the worst in comparison to any of the above mentioned tyres and by far distant to the conti's.


the noise level again is nowhere near the labeled 68db's , the 69db michelins are a tick quieter so arre the falkens which were also tagged 69db and the nokians are identical at 70db so I assure you this is most likely a game from the manufacturer.


wear, well I have only used for 2000kms so far and it is very clear from this sites reviews that this tyre has wear issues so to be honest I had bought them knowing there downsides in return for a smoother and quieter ride which I can now only dream of. will not ever come close to a goodyear dealer again.


if you want lifespan and traction go for conti's, if butter smooth ride michelins end of story!


please note that I do about 60k kms anually and %85 of this is on a autobahn/highway/motorway whatever you call it at 128km/h (80mph), yes I do from time to time drive faster in a sprited manner too :)

7k miles completed. THese are the heavy load version Excessive wear on the fronts. Minimal wear on the rears. Front outer edges completely worn. Tracking and balancing are not the cause. Looosing approx. 6 psi from the fronts during the course of a month.

Very good in dry and wet conditions. The only thing i have to mention is that the side wall of the tyre is so soft and in continuing open turns you dont have the right feedback. You feel that the car is starting to slide and you try all the time to correct it. You dont feel so sure if you try to turn with a few km more. Safe tyre but with no confidence. I didnt see any "performance" even from the first km.

Had these fitted to my 2001 Subaru Legacy in size 205/55/16 this summer. So far i've got 10000km with them and i hardly see any wear what so ever. I've had two nail punctures while parking in front of my home. Those are not the tire fault, but still subjectively, it is a minus on my buy again criteria. On the road they feel quiet, comfortable and a little bit too flexy. Went through a mountain pass and on the corners i could feel the tire flexing two much. I've driven dirt roads and had no issues, also on the sandy beach, the car holds its own. On the motorway those have great rolling qualities and while being soft, they don't heat up as much as my old ones(by far). This is great as they don't become sticky and the "miles per gallon" are kept high.

Overall: Great tires for good money, but could be better, if they had stiffer sidewalls. I would buy them again, if not for wanting to try other brands summer tires. I like to compare things myself.
