Primacy HP were standard on my 2013 Focus estate 1.6tdci and they were the best tyres all round I've owned. The plus sides, very hardwearing, 48k miles on uk roads, still legal but changed them as it was the beginning of winter. Never punctured, ran true through out their life. I drive quickly but I reckon I'm easy on cars. The one downside is they could be a bit noisy on certain UK road surfaces, it maybe a Focus issue, I dont know. Needless to say I opted to have the same tyre again.
It wasn't until I got home that I noticed that Micheldever Tyre Services had fitted Primacy 3's. When I queried this they said HP's were being discontinued and this was the replacement. Well, its not the same tyre, the Primacy 3's lasted about 20k and although they hadn't worn out they had feathered making the noise intolerable, and yes I do get my tracking and toeing done when I change tyres.
It's a year on, Primacy HP are still on the market, some publications also state that Primacy 3 are HP replacements, they are 1 DB quieter than HP's but nowhere near as durable. Plus you try and buy HP's for the same price, they're always more expensive, but IMO well worth it.
