Nexen N6000 Reviews - Page 5

Given 43% while driving a Skoda Roomster (200/45 R16 V) on mostly country roads for 4,000 spirited miles
Harsh and fast wearing. Best that can be said is that they are black and round. Will switch to Michelin Alpines as soon as they are a little more worn.

Given 50% while driving a Honda Accord CTDi (225/45 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 10,000 average miles
These were newly fitted on the rear wheels of the car when I bought it second hand from a Honda dealership. I'd heard of the brand but never bought or knowingly used any Nexen tyres before. Nothing to lose then, I thought. As a qualified engineer, I checked the tyres regularly and the pressures every 2-3 weeks; no obvious problems / loss of pressure. But only 10K miles later and both rears had to be changed; this seems a short life for the rear of a family saloon driven on country roads in an average driving style. The passenger side rear rapidly became a 'slick' in the few weeks after I last checked the tread depth which was somewhat alarming as this happened during the wet winter. Given the uneven wear between the two sides I had the tracking and (multi-link) suspension professionally checked but no problems were picked up. 2 separate mechanics pointed out that the tyres were both evenly worn which makes sense given the lack of problems with the suspension ans tracking. So I can only assume it was the tyres.

Overall the driving experience was fine but unexceptional. Never noticed any obvious 'ditch finding tendencies'. So the tyre is probably safe enough for average drivers but the wear would put me off buying them again. I have done a lot better with Bridgestone and Goodyear in the past (admittedly on another car - Audi A4); obviously considerably more expensive but cheaper per mile.

Given 93% while driving a Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 tdi (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 300 average miles
These tyres recently fitted seem fine . can't understand the bad reviews

I had expensive Continentals on before. these seem just as good. Hope I'm not proved wrong in the future but at ?65 each -at present nothing whatso ever to complain of.

Given 18% while driving a Audi A4 (240/ R18) on mostly town for 1,000 average miles
These tyres are dangerous in the wet - the grip is none existent even in damp conditions. I changed over to these only 4 weeks ago - I immediately noticed the car swaying on corners - also felt unstable - any dampness I get wheel spin when starting and feels very unstable when cornering - if you break sharply in the damp the car will slide, not stop as I found out recently - this caused me to have an accident - I am taking these tyres back after only 4 weeks use. do not buy these tyres for your own safety.

Given 30% while driving a Honda Accord CTDi (225/45 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 20,000 average miles
I bought my tyres from a local company, thinking they would care, but I have been very disappointed. I knew the rear tyres needed replacing soon, and so for a while accredited the lack of grip on the front tyres I had replaced to those and the seasonal weather conditions, but soon noticed no difference in grip or handling on the front tyres. I won't be buying the same tyres again.

Given 51% while driving a Ford Mondeo (235/40 R18 W) on mostly motorways for 10,000 average miles
The handling in the wet is the biggest let down, I had these fitted from new and the fronts have worn down to the strips in 10K with mostly motorway driving. The rears are like new however. They give quite a harsh ride as well, very noticeable on country lanes.
