Top 3 Nexen WinGuard SUV Reviews

Given 67% while driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee (235/65 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 500 easy going miles
Hardly done any miles in the car yet as it only tends to get used in bad weather, so I can't comment on wear, but these tyres already seem a lot better than the ones they replaced. The old ones had plenty of tread but were mixed front and rear which I don't like on a 4x4. Also the fronts were starting to split in between the tread blocks as they were getting on a bit.
I put these Nexen on as the price was right and they had a few good reviews, and so far they've impressed me, especially the last couple of days where we've seen a bit of frost and ice. If they carry on like this I'll definitely be using them again.

Mercedes Benz ML350 (255/60 R17) on mostly country roads for 500 average miles
Grip well in dry and wet, similar braking pattern to the Continental 4x4 contacts I had before, corners similarly and has a decent tread pattern for off-road usage (best tread pattern I could find in this size due to very limited choice). Traction control light hasn't come on during the icy weather or on wet days unlike the Continentals which tended to spin despite being only a third worn. Have dragged 2.5 tons up some steep hills without any complaints.

I've found these tyres perfectly quiet up to around 60mph, after which things become more noticeable but that's probably down to the tread pattern. Rest assured it's nothing remotely like true off road tyres and as my (petrol) engine sounds like a bus anyway, doesn't really bother me. Due to the tread pattern, these are far superior to the previous Continentals, which were quiet running on road but for supposedly recent 4x4 M&S rated tyres, utterly useless in the few inches of snow in January plus had no grip in the mud - quite embarrassing.

I've bought these with the intention of running all year round; car doesn't do many miles as it's a runaround intended for occasional towing / slipway use, but so far I've used it on the motorway as well as winding / steep potholed country roads and these tyres have to my surprise performed flawlessly considering their cost.
I'm very pleased with them.

Given 76% while driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee (235/65 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 3,500 easy going miles
As these tyres have been on for over 12 months now, thought I'd share a little more about them.
I don't really do the miles in this car as it's more a winter shed, but tend to pop out on things like tip runs and shopping trips in it, with the occasional motorway run once a month or so, especially if the weather's bad.

The tyres have been on all year round due to the lack of mileage done and, as such have performed really well, especially for a Winter tyre. Nothing scary, no drama at all, just plenty of progressive grip and feel, though it's an old Jeep so doesn't really promote "spirited" driving. As for the wear, they've been excellent so far, covering around 4,000 miles with no noticeable deterioration, and I'm convinced that they'll last the life of the car now.

I would certainly get these again for my next winter car, though I'd probably spend a bit more for a performance motor.
