Toyo Proxes CF1 Reviews - Page 2

Given 66% while driving a Vauxhall Astra 1.7 CDTI (195/60 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 18,000 easy going miles
Fairly good tyre for the price and performs well in wet and dry conditions. However, not impressed with tyre wear and tread has started to perish prematurely. I am currently running hankook kinergy tyres and am very impressed all round.

Honda civic "S" Driven on rural roads, central belt scotland. Don't tend to hold back when possible.
Good tread pattern, commented on by several work colleagues, comfortable tyre with good feed back and control in both wet and dry conditions.
So far a good well priced tyre, but after 11K miles are the next best thing to slicks!! Very poor wearability, Maybe roads, maybe driving, but would have to think seriously before buying again

Given 71% while driving a Fiat Punto 1.2 8v (185/60 R14 H) on mostly town for 5,000 average miles
These are reasonable low end Toyo's. The grip is good in the dry and acceptable in the wet. They are a little noisy but comfort is good. Quite soft so wear a little higher than some European tyres. Good for smaller cars.

Given 86% while driving a Fiat Panda (175/60 R13) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
Great mid-range tyre for small cars. The grip has improved massively on my car compared to the Pirelli i had before, especially in the wet. Had to test the tyres in a couple of occasions in the wet and they kept the car tidy and always in control. In the dry they are also very good. Mine were made in Japan. My next buy would probably be these again or Yokos A539.

Given 72% while driving a Volkswagen Golf 1.9 Tdi (195/65 R15) on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
Put these on the front of my Golf because I was fed up with the previous (cheap) tyres not gripping in cold or wet conditions. The Toyos were a big improvement and good value for money. I don't know how they are going to wear yet.

Given 99% while driving a Jaguar X Type 2.2d (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 32,000 spirited miles
I have had them on my X Type Jag since I purchased at 18,000miles and just having to replace them on the front at ~50,000 miles.

Much of my milage it motorway but having experienced these I wouldn't go for anything else.

Given 61% while driving a Honda Civic (195/60 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
Had all 4 changed at the same time. Good price for a decent tyre with good grip on the dry. On the wet when the tread is low you can feel the car on the edge. However, wear as poor. 10K miles and the front are gone. Rears are down to 5mm. Compared to my bro's golf running with Michelin, still have 5mm on the front after 9k miles!!!

Given 100% while driving a Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 tdi (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 10,000 easy going miles
Recommended to my Dad by our local tyre depot, but turns out they are very long lasting (10k miles + on the fronts in a heavy Diesel MPV that isn't driven overly hard). I have put Toyos on the back of my Vectra, miles better looking tread pattern compared to Avons on front (and I've discovered the perils on a previous car of budget tyres on the back in bends). Will be curious to see how long they last. And they're barely more expensive than the current fronts. Result

Given 77% while driving a Rover Rover SD1 vitesse 3500 V8 (205/60 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 5,000 easy going miles
I put them on my Old SD1 about 18 months ago and I've done about 5000 miles on them, I can't fault them on wear so far but I don't drive this car very hard.
The dry grip is good but I haven't really tested them in the wet as they feel more of a comfort tyre then a performance tyre.
They're as good as the bigger name brand tyres are and I like the ride they give so I probably will buy them again next time also.

Given 99% while driving a Alfa Romeo 33 mk 2 (195/60 R14) on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
These tyres are the best tyres ive ever had, mine are so worn that the metal grid is showing and they still handle well obviously to a limit lol considering the wear and tear they have, in the wet they are amazing, just bought another set for my car and theyre the same again :) 10/10 feedback, best tyres ive had by far!!
