Had Bridgestone Potenzas on my FN2 Civic Type R which were really great and needed to change all 4 for the MOT. On Type R forums people raved about the Uniroyal Rainsport 3 so I thought I give then a go. I must say after 2000 miles of driving, general grip at normal speeds are ok but once I start to have spirited driving these tyres are LETHAL. It feels so unstable at speed, sidewalls are so soft that I can`t take the corners I once did on Bridgestones. I must say that I don`t confidence with these tyres and will return to Bridgestone once these wear out.

I've found the RainSports to be the absolute perfect compromise in tyre when considering all factors. They have outstanding handling ability in the wet and are more than capable in the dry too. I'm currently on about 2.5mm and I can really feel the fading in the tyres now compared to how they used to perform, but this is to be expected given that its only 1mm from being legal. They do carry a bit of road noise and therefore aren't the most comfortable on the market and I found that the wear rate could be better.. but they're more than acceptable given that I only do 5k a year and they can outperform tyres that are at least twice the price!

These tyres look smart, handle well in all conditions. However the thing that lets them down is they wear out in no time at all. I had some BF Goodrich G-Grip before which handled just as well (until they wore down) but lasted at least 10k more. I only do motorway driving so expect them to last a lot longer than they did...As I was getting then for a pretty good price I didnt mind too much, until I realised how often was replacing them.
Gone with Vredestin vorti next.

Excellent car tyre! I have used toyo, which was good on wet and 2 times kumho which was good on dry but rainsport 3 is way better on both wet & dry!
very good cornerning , very good handling and braking!
At fuel I didnt notice any changed from past tyres.
Tthey need to be replaced after 3 years of continuously use. I will buy them again no doupt!

Excellent wet grip, better than dry grip actually. Nice looking profile, but super ugly tread. Rears will soon need replacement.

Given 71% while driving a Skoda Yeti 4 x 4 (225/50 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 12,000 spirited miles
Follow up to the initial review I posted from when I bought the RS3's. Fronts lasted 10k with loads of tread left in the centre but the inner and outer edges totally scrubbed, pressures were 5 psi higher than recommended after reading reviews about the soft sidewalls, Had the alignment checked.. Just had Yeti MOT'd and it was pointed out that the treadon the inner run on both rears are nearly worn out after 12.5k with minimal wear on the rest of the tyre. Had the alignment checked again and all ok, again running about 5 psi high. On the whole a decent tyre in wet and dry but the uneven and premature wear is a concern and has put me off replacing with the same .

Recommended to put these tyres on my 2007 Audi S3. Glad I did,the grip is phenomenal in the wet,and despite the car having around 300 bhp,the tyres did not want to spin up even in the wet.Handling,comfort and dry grip are also excellent,as is the price,which is a lot cheaper than its branded competitors.

Given 99% while driving a Ford Mondeo Titanium X Sport (235/40 R19 W) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
Fitted on a heavy turbo diesel estate with over 250bhp through the front tyres these Uni`s have given superb performance in summer and winter. They are not noisy , they are comfortable and they grip wet or dry to fully make the most of my sports supension. After spirited driving on motorways and Cornwall's back roads the fronts will probably make 12k miles before i replace at 3mm. I will always go for performance over lack of grip and longevity but even so I am not disappointed by the wear. On this car I can only compare the the Michelin Pilot these replaced . The UR`s grip better. As the rears have very little wear it will be like for like replacement at the front. As an aside I put these tyres on my sons Ford Sports Ka and Fiesta ST150 and they were great on those cars too. As soon as our TT needs new tyres these will go on.

Audi 1.8T Quattro (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 5,000 spirited miles
Dry and Wet grip good but have lasted about 5000 miles. The continental sport 5s they replaced lasted 15k. Do not buy as they become unsafe too quickly.

I have these fitted to a Skoda Octavia VRS 4x4. The grip is amazing, obviously partly due to the Haldex but these tyres are fantastic. They are incredibly comfortable and work well in wet or dry conditions. Given the price I cannot understand any argument for buying a more expensive product when this one performs so well!!??

these are I have found to be fantastic tyres both in the wet and dry.sidewall is a little soft if cornering hard nothing a couple extra psi doesn't sort.. wear rate I have done 8k on the fronts tht I expect would see another 2k at least before being fully worn but gonna change front to back so I'd expect 20k ish per set
fantastic tyre for the money...as there classed as a mid range tyre...I've had load of premium branded tyres on lots of cars and dare i say it these were best a long way....!
definitely buy again...

I fitted a full set after a month on Dunlop Sport Maxx which were dreadful. I'd had Uniroyal tyres on cars previously and was fairly indifferent to them but reading some reviews decided these offered everything I needed. I have to recommend them as they are excellent. The wet grip is outstandingly good. The only thing I am not certain about is wear but if I can get a year out of them I will be well pleased. The comfort is exceptional - on the Dunlops the car could not be driven in Sport suspension setting as the ride was unbearably crashy but with the RS3s the car is not driven in anything other than Sport mode so this is a massive improvement. Road noise seems ok - I have a decent stereo so don't actually know whether it is good or bad but seeing as everything else about the tyres is good, this will be good too!

Driving, I have a very good sense of what it is the tyres are actually doing and I suppose this is one of those ,mysterious driving cliches that so called driving gurus like to call feedback. As for understeer etc, I wouldn't know as I have not yet provoked the vehicle. My opinion of the tyres after just over 2000 miles is that they offer (in order of my priorities) brilliant performance and are superb value for money.
