For many I have used various budget tyres and found them generally to give better wet grip then the michelins I've had in the past, but less tread life. So having experiencied two low speed shunts in two different cars due to lack of grip, in damp conditions when breaking in a straight line, where both cars had michelins. Also having found that often that some budget tyres are made by subsiduaries of well known brands such as in the case of LASSA(Brigestone) I've moved away from buying by brand choosing instead to look at tread patterns and specs. of the tyre. For the last ten years I've been using LASSA IMPETUS tyres on my Focus 2iesp finding them to be better, in many ways better than the original equipment Goodyears. However recently, this year for some reason when I replacements of the same make I've been unable to get them from any supplier. So I was persuaded to buy WANLI, ready for a long trip to the south of France. Having now driven about 3000 miles on these tyres I want them off my car. They have changed my very precise steering, smooth running, quiet, effortless, car into a noisy vibrating buzz box, with less feel(feedback),on all road surfaces. I also have a feeling that although I put the grip as quit good, it is the cars traction control and abs compensating.
