Nokian Tires has recently launched the new Nokian One all season tire for the North American market. On the surface, this looks like a usual all season tire launch, but with two interesting additions for the consumer.
Not only does the new Nokian One come with a HUGE 80,000 mile (or 129,000 km) treadwear warranty, it also has a pothole protection warranty meaning if you hit a pothole which results in the tire puncturing beyond repair, Nokian will replace the tire for a new one free of charge.
This adds up to an extremely long lasting tire - not only can you drive around the circumference of the earth nearly three times, you can also do it with confidence that any unexpected road issues won't dent your wallet.
In order to provide these warranties, the new Nokian One has a lot of aramid in the mix, which is the same material used in bulletproof vests. While this isn't a new technology for the tire industry, it's interesting seeing Nokian combine it with a pothole damage warranty.
The new tire, which replaces the Nokian Entyre 2.0, also improves its wet performance, and has a lower rolling resistance, meaning you'll save money on fuel as well as replacement tires.
The Nokian One will be available in around 70 difference sizes, from 14 to 20 inches. No price has been announced yet, but expect it to be in line with the previous EnTyre range.

Nokian One Press Release
The Nokian Tyres One is crafted with the latest technology to provide safety and durability for North American roads, in line with the company’s industry-leading sustainability standards. Nokian Tyres will produce the tire at its state-of-the-art factory in Dayton, Tennessee, and at its other two factories in Europe.
The Nokian Tyres One joins the Nokian Tyres One HT, which Nokian Tyres launched in 2020, to form a powerline that covers more than 91 percent of sizes in their segments, from sedans to light trucks to SUVs and even select cargo fitments.
The Nokian Tyres One offers ultimate peace of mind with protection from potholes and other road hazards; it is the company’s first passenger tire to feature Aramid Sidewall technology, and Nokian Tyres is offering a Pothole Protection warranty for drivers who purchase the tire.
“The Nokian Tyres One is engineered to provide peace of mind in the moments North American drivers need it the most,” said Nokian Tyres Director of Products Steve Bourassa. “SUV and light truck drivers have loved this tire, and now we’re pleased to offer it for passenger cars, too, along with a Pothole Protection warranty that shows how confident we are in the tire’s durability.”
The new tire also provides improvements in braking and handling and a more comfortable ride than ever before.
The all-season product is the latest step in Nokian Tyres’ growth journey in North America, where it opened a LEED v4 Silver-certified factory in 2019 and continues to expand its presence in the all-season, all-weather and winter tire segments.
Durability for the rigors of the road
The Nokian Tyres One is tailored to meet the needs of North American drivers by offering durability to meet the challenges presented by roads in the region.
For the first time, Nokian Tyres has equipped a passenger tire with its unique Aramid Sidewall technology. Puncture-resistant Aramid fibers are embedded in the sidewalls to reinforce the tire when it encounters potholes and other road hazards. The technology is also available in the newest generations of Nokian Tyres’ light truck and SUV products, including the Nokian Tyres One HT.
Nokian Tyres is expressing confidence in its Aramid technology by providing drivers with a Pothole Protection warranty. If a tire is damaged beyond repair by rough roads, potholes or curbs, the company will replace it free of charge.
“Research tells us that as many as of one-third of major U.S. roads are in poor condition, which results in annual vehicle maintenance costs of about $600 per driver,” Bourassa said. “We engineered the Nokian Tyres One to withstand the toll rough roads can take, while delivering a comfortable driving experience.”
A modern silica compound is engineered to excel in varying conditions; it thrives in a wide range of temperatures and can withstand intense wear even in hot summer weather. The compound’s formulation allows the tire to carry a higher mileage warranty – 80,000 miles or 130,000 kilometers. Strong shoulder construction complements the Aramid-reinforced sidewalls to maximize the tire’s strength.
Safety for North American roads
The Nokian Tyres One provides safety for the moments when drivers need it the most.
The new all-season tire provides improvements in wet braking and wet handling over Nokian Tyres’ previous all-season products. Those enhancements are the result of a balanced tread pattern that helps the tire thrive in wet and dry weather alike.
A symmetrical, non-directional tread pattern promotes even wear throughout the life of the tire. While the tread shape resembles many North American all-season products, it comes with special boosts that provide premium performance.
Zig-zag siping in the center rib and shoulder blocks provides stability and improved handling properties. Grip enhancers in the circumferential grooves offer dependable traction on soft surfaces like snow, sand and mud.
Three-dimensional block supports in the middle ribs give the tire biting edges that help grip the road in winter, and the Nokian Tyres One features high-volume water pockets throughout the tire that resist hydroplaning.
