Goodyear Excellence Reviews - Page 4

Given 91% while driving a Alfa Romeo MiTo (195/55 R16 H) on a combination of roads for 34,000 easy going miles
These tyres came with the car. I had them for 3,5 years (45000km). Their performance was very good even after 3 years! Very good grip both in dry and wet, fuelsaving and longlasting. Ideal for a reasonable driver who wants a trustworthy tyre that will last!
I wanted to buy them again, but couldn't find them in my local stores... so I 'm trying Goodyear EfficietGrip Performance.

Given 51% while driving a Citroën C4 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 40,000 average miles
Hi there! For 40000 km and more than 2 years with EfficientGrips in my CITROEN C4 CUPE 1.6cc i have to say that these tyres:
+
*Are very quiet
*Have perfect respond to butholes because of the very soft sides of the tyres
*Good performance on wet doad even when road is full of water!!!
*Heel toe doesn't seems to wear out easily
*They still perform like the first day i install them!
-
*Sides of tyre are easily get hurt when strikes pavement because of the softness of the side of the EfficientGrips
*I can't accelerate quiq even when ESP working, imagine without ESP!
*I cant stop my car on time, in spite of the fact ABS working perfect
*I cant turn a litle sporty when turning because tyres are so slipery
*When i go streight on and turn left or right the hall car drives rough "in a while" left or right causing the front or/and mostly the rear of the car steply shifts left or right makes me scare!!!
Conclusion: EfficientGrips are perfect for my grandfathers' driving style.

I should buy Eagle F1 Asymetric.

Given 80% while driving a Saab Automobile 9 5 2.2 TiD Linear Estate (215/55 R16 V) on mostly motorways for 22,000 average miles
Good, sticky, quiet & comfortable tyres. Wear rate not so good though and really poor if you get caught out in icy conditions (note it is a summer tyre but my experience was “memorable”).

Given 87% while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan (225/45 R17 H) on mostly motorways for 62,000 easy going miles
My two rear Goodyear Excellence tyres have now completed 62k miles ( had car since new ) and still have another 5k min before reaching 2.00 mm when I will change. The fronts were changed at 32k and the leasing company put on Bridgestones. They have worn well but Goodyear give a better ride.

Given 81% while driving a Audi A4 (215/55 R16 V) on mostly country roads for 18,000 spirited miles
Very strange tires. To about 6k miles are just brilliant...good dry handling superb wet response. After that...they transform in something else. One minute you have total confidence...the next minute you lose all the grip. Not so good at the limit. But overall a good tyre. Very comfortable...and good wet grip. Lasted around 18k miles. Had contis and dunlop...but goodyear tyres I found always very good in the wet. In spring I`m thinking of buying a pair of Eagle F1`s.

Given 76% while driving a Honda Accord CTDi (225/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 0 average miles
Pretty good tyres. I have done about 45k on the tyres before they front ones ran out, though I kept on rotating them at each service. The rear ones are still going after more than 50k(honest!). Except for one small slip up, never had a prob in 3.5 years.

Given 86% while driving a Chrysler PC Cruiser (215/45 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 2,000 easy going miles
I 'm a bit puzzled by the bad reviews on these tyres. I bought used wheels and there were two Goodyear Excellence tyres on them. The other ones were Uniroyal Rainsport 1, which I assumed were best to be put on the front.

Bad idea it seemed, the rainsport have really week sidewalls and are not firm enough when cornering. So I moved the Goodyears, who are extra load, to the front and they are much better there. More grip, better road control, and they don 't feel like they want to roll off the rimm.

To be honest, I still haven 't found any flaw on these tyres. I think they are really great tyres and I consider changing the others by Excellence too.

Given 79% while driving a MINI Cooper (195/55 R16) on mostly motorways for 22,000 average miles
Generally a good tyre for my Mini. Did average of 22000 on each set, with even wear across tyre. Grip very good when new, but does reduce a lot once tyres wear down below 4mm. Quite harsh ride - but they are run flats.

Given 45% while driving a Peugeot 406 Coupe SE (3.0 ltr V6) (215/55 R16 W) on mostly motorways for 17,000 average miles
Very disappointed, normally use Michelin Primacy but did not want to spend as much. Managed 17'602 on the goodyears, primacy averaged between 21k-25k

Given 69% while driving a Toyota verso 1.8vvt t3 (190/60 R15 V) on mostly country roads for 10,000 average miles
My tyre dealer fitted a pair of these as he could no longer get the Goodyear NCT5 in my size. They don't inspire the same confidence as the NCT5. They grip well enough on very wet roads, but they are not so good on damp greasy surfaces. I've used Goodyear for years, but will be looking elsewhere next time.
