Really, quite an awful tyre. If you push the car at all, the tyres will show their true performanfe, or lack theeeof. Very poor grip in the dry, abysmal grip on the wet, and no grip at all on loose surfaces, snow, or ice. Even driving the car gently on EcoContacts will cause you to smell the tyres when you pull up on your drive. They’re average for comfort. I haven’t had them long enough to fairly judge how long they will last but considering the burnt tyre smell after a quick drive I don’t imagine they would last a season.

Driving on mostly motorways for 16000 average miles
Had these fitted by a "cheap" garage that my mum liked to use (cheapskate) Ended up charging me £400 for 4 of these things to be fitted Seriously cheap, wore down quick and although i hadn't lost grip in the dry, in the wet it became obvious. After 2 years the front 2 tyres are down to 70% wear. Replaced with some quality Michelin P4s', £200 fitted in my driveway, miles better grip! Will be getting rid of the rears soon.

Driving on mostly country roads for 6700 spirited miles
Decent dry grip but simply terrible on wet/damp/cold roads. Trying to pull away at junctions/roundabouts in the wet when applying power results in just wheelspins and the ESC light coming on.... Only way to pull away in the wet and not have this happen is to set off at snail's pace. These tyres came with my car which I purchased 2nd hand with 3700 miles on, I've replaced them just 3000 miles on as I simply can't stand them. I have replaced them with run flat tyres ultra high performance tyres which seem to have a reputation for being noisy and uncomfortable, and yet the run flat tyres I'm now running (RainSport 3 SSR) are actually far more comfortable and less noisy than the Conti EcoContct 5's, so shows how bad these are!! Also sidewalls are very soft, this I think is responsible for the poor steering feedback.
