Volkswagen Golf GT Tdi 110 Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Barum Bravuris 3HM given 94% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 average miles
I have driven these tires more than 13000 km, and there's no noticeable wear marks. I think they will last at least 3 summer seasons.
Grip - even with 150hp 320Nm diesel they don't start to spin with 2nd gear on dry surface, plenty of grip on straight and corners. In wet they excellent prevent aqua gliding, but tires will spin when exiting corner on full throttle. The only thing i dont like is that tire sides are very flabby. Sport suspension and these tires will cause feeling like driving on gel, especially when avoiding pot holes.
But as its wear and grip is very good i would defiantly buy again.

Driving on mostly country roads for 10000 spirited miles
Great feedback from these tyres, car handles much better with these fitted compared to budget tyres. The big downside I found was that they wear extremely quickly on the front of my golf gt Tdi! One of the fastest wearing I think I’ve had on any of my cars! For that reason I don’t think that I would spend that much on the tyre again! I found the Goodyear eagle ultra grip to be just as responsive and far more hardwearing, if a little noiser!

Can’t complain too much about these tyres, they are cheap and they last a lifetime, which I’m not sure is always a good thing! I feel perhaps the compound is a little too hard which equates to lower grip levels when cold. The grip is by no means shocking, but is lacking compared to a higher budget tyre.

Great tyres. Unlike many on hear i bought these tyres for a FWD car. My brother has a e46 BMW sport which is unbelievably poor in winter conditions and I’ll be recommending these to him when the pilot sport’s need changing. They have been very hardwearing on my golf gt Tdi, a car renowned for eating their front tyres. I have had them on with little sign of wear for 5000 miles and I have no doubt they’ll do another 5000-10000! Would defiantly recommend!

Driving on mostly town for 5000 spirited miles
I fitted these tyres 5k miles ago and I have found them to be terrible on wet roads, driving at anything over 70 mph on a wet road has became scarey , theer seems to be no grip at all in the wet. However they are ok in the dry.

Dry grip is very good, wet grip is good, although I have felt them just about letting go on a couple of roundabouts in the wet, but you do know when it's going to happen. For ?35 each for this size I am very impressed with these tyres and will buy again. They are ideal for my commuter car and they are ideal for steady to fast drivers that don't drive like idiots. All in all am very impressed with these tyres, and I have driven all tyres from michelin, eagle f1s, firestones, pirellis etc so hope this balanced review is of use to others.

I have also used Dunlop SP's and Pilot Primacy's on this car and seriously love the HP's as the best all-round tyre I have ever tried! The Dry road holding is excellent and in the wet they are grippier than I am willing to push the car! Fuel consumption seems about the same as the Pilots but is better than the SP's. They are a bit noisy on the motorway. On a rouond-trip commute of 70 miles of motorway, dual carriageways and country roads, they perform well in every situation including heavy braking.
