Volkswagen Mk7 TSI Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin CrossClimate 2 given 30% (205-55-16-)
Driving on mostly town for 100 easy going miles
I have just replaced the original tyres with crossclimate 2s and have travelled less than 100 miles with them. I can't comment on other aspects of their performance, but I am very disappointed with the effect they have had on the ride quality of the car. I noticed this immediately. The car used to be very smooth on all road surfaces but now it feels unsettled and knobbly. I've tried altering the tyre pressure but it's made no difference. This is contrary to the reviews I had read, based on which I chose these tyres. I suppose they might improve with time, but if they don't I'm afraid I won't be able to live with them and they will need to be replaced - very annoying because they were not cheap.

Writing about the Bridgestone Turanza T005 given 89% (195-65-15-H)
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 average miles
This is best type used by me compared with other premium brands. I like them a lot and I bought them after multiple reviews and research. I drove more than 2000 miles with them on dry and wet condition, taking to the limit on corners and also driving comfortable when I wanted. I feel save all the time. Also the fuel consumption it's reduced comparing other premium tires used. Bridgestone did a very good engineering job. Are very balanced on all conditions with very good feedback from the road even if it's wet or dry or you need to avoid some obstacle you will feel the car where turns immediately. I remember immediate after I put them the steering was very good comparing with Michelin or Pirelly that I used before. Bridgestone Turanza T005 it's also not expensive as premium brand. It deserves the first place in my preference and I love them. I saw couple of negative reviews but more on winter conditions or below 7°C. People these are summer tyres, don't expect to do miracles when outside is winter condition. They are the best as any tyre are used for, more than 7°C like in any regulation.
Buy them without any doubt. Are comfortable, performant, best in class for a good price.

Driving on a combination of roads for 12000 easy going miles
Golf 1.4tsi DSG 2013, tyres are originals, f/rear swap at 10k miles, just under 6mm tread left at 12'600 miles but I am easy driver, 48mpg overall since new. Will buy these again.

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 given 90% (225-40-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 spirited miles
have to say, these are probably some of the best tyres i have ever bought. comparing them to the SC's that came with the car - no comparison. The SC's simply did not inspire confidence at all. Wet grip is surprisingly good so much so that the performance differential with dry conditions is slight. Overall well worth the outlay.

Writing about the Dunlop SP Sport Fast Response given 80% (205-55-16-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 average miles
After 5000 miles I can say that these tyres are on the performance side, meaning Dunlop SP Sport Fast Response is a great tyre for when driving sportly. I drove them with speed on corners, window open, and they don't make any noise, cars around me were all squealing, the grip on corners is great. Traction is less great, I get wheel hop on wet but you can get that with any tyres considering the unsprung weight. Haven't tested hard braking on wet so I can't tell about that or aquaplanning, though control on wet is very good also. That being said, this is not the best tyre when looking for best confort and noise, as they transmit the very cracks on the road, compound and blocks are hard, so if you're looking for straight rides maybe look to softer tyres. I would buy them again if I'd had a 200ps car but otherwise I'm looking for Michelin Primacy 3 as my next summer tyres.
