Questions and Answers for the Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 SUV

2018-12-02 - I drive a Porsche Macan S 2016. I am looking for summer tyre in 19". I found a document from Porsche recommending the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 2. But they do not specify the SUV model. Which model should I actually get ? Do I need the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo SUV or the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo will do ?

As long as the tyre meets the correct size and load rating, you can use either. On a sporty SUV like the Mecan I imagine both will be suitable.

Just changed front two tyres on 2019 Tiguan. 34500 miles covered. Rear tyres still only half worn.

Amazing tyres. Great in both wet and dry conditions. Handles well with superb roadfeedback. Also comfortable at the same time. No other words than to say hankook has nailed it with this model.

I have driven 80,000 km, road holding is very good. I think it could have been quieter in terms of noise.

Given 90% while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan (235/55 R18) on a combination of roads for 40,000 spirited miles
Great set of tyres! They have everything you would want from your tyres. Excellent comfort and excellent handling. In heavy downpours it is never phased. Very impressive and confidence inspiring tyres. Would highly recommend . Can't wait to get my hands on the latest s1evo3s considering how well it's predecessor performed

Given 81% while driving a Audi Q5 (235/60 R18) on a combination of roads for 26,000 average miles
These SUV designated tyres were audi oe on 2019 Q5 40 tdi. They have been good tyres feeling safe in all conditions driven. They have lasted 26000 average driven mixed miles with the outer block now worn out with no groove left. The remaining 75% of the tyre is just about on the wear marker. There are cracks appearing between some grooves now so we are getting the same again. All four to change as rotated tyres and all have now lost outer blocks due to front wear. Have read that increasing tyre pressure a bit can reduce outer block wear on audis so may try that.

Given 81% while driving a Audi Q7 (285/35 R22) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
For the price these are a great tyre, fitter was surprised they were Audi original equipment but they are a good tyre in the dry and the wet, manage to keep my Q7 safe on the road without complaining. They are not very good in snow but they don’t claim to be and are a summer tyre. Massive rim protector too which is a bonus with 22s. At around £100 a corner cheaper than the big names, I cannot fault these.

used these tyres on the Q7 for over 20k now, still have over 4.0 MM left on the rear tyres, although the fronts are ready to replace.

26.000 miles and still enough on all 4 tyres to do another 4300 miles, The tyres came on a newly bought audi.
to my great surprise the tyres a very comfortable, little road noise even not on cobblestone, good grip in rainy weather and enough grip when dry to keep up the pace. Wear &tear much better then expected. will buy this tyre again.

Given 90% while driving a Volvo XC90 (2) D5 momentum (275/45 R20) on a combination of roads for 15,000 average miles
15000 miles and rear tyres still 3my. For a very heavy car that’s really. These are much cheaper than Continentals ( even cheaper than VOL ones!) and I can’t tell the difference. Would buy again from my independent tyre dealer

Given 54% while driving a Rover Range Rover Sport (220/45 R21) on mostly town for 9,000 easy going miles
Put the Hankook Ventus on my Range Rover sport from tyre specialist advice and got 9000km before tyres were destroyed. Hankook have washed there hands on the matter. Never buy Hankook again there warranty and backup service is disgusting.

Given 87% while driving a Volvo XC90 (2) D5 momentum (275/45 R20 W) on a combination of roads for 6,000 average miles
6000lbs car needs good rubber. These are better than the Continentals from the factory. Better grip and less noise. So far (6000miles) have good wearing qualities.

Given 85% while driving a Kia Motors Sportage (245/45 R19) on mostly country roads for 5,000 spirited miles
On a 2016 Kia Sportage. Around 6mm after 5,000 miles so wearing well, surprising level of grip in both wet and dry. Not really up to much off road grip wise, but take the punishment without getting damaged.

An all round really good tyre, would recommend
