Hifly HF805 Reviews - Page 4

Given 79% while driving a Honda Integra R DC5 (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 40,000 spirited miles
Have 205 55 R16 fitted to my Integra.
I avoid hard braking but love cornering at speed. I inflate my tyres to 38PSI front and 36PSI rear.
I've managed to get 40,000 miles or 65,000km from my set of Hifly HF805s. I believe they'll make it to 80,000km.

So far, I can see a lot of negative comments about these tyres... maybe because they're Chinese and it's ok to vent racist comments about anything Chinese. Maybe it's the car... like the guy whose Yaris is spinning it's front wheels.

The HF805 is a summer tyre. There's no ice in summer.

On dry and wet, braking and cornering are absolutely excellent. The performance is actually amazing. Durability has been great.

I'm surprised at the number of ignorant people who think tyres are made with secret recipes that only some manufacturers know.

If I use a slick tyre in the wet, it doesn't matter whether it's a Michelin or a Pirelli. If it's a soft compound it's going to give better grip but wear faster than a hard compound. Wider tyres give better lateral grip. Thinner side walls give better handling but are harsher.

The HF 805's pattern, compound are more than appropriate for the list of ordinary cars I've seen in this thread.

Given 46% while driving a Peugeot 207cc (205/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 8,000 easy going miles
4 tyres fitted April 2015, rears fine but fronts will need replacing quite soon, less than 8,ooo miles completed, very disappointing even though I understand these are budget tyres. Fitted to Peugeot 207cc GT, normal driving with no wheel spin, fast corners etc. Definitely will not buy again.

Given 39% while driving a Toyota 2006 Avalon (225/55 R17) on a combination of roads for 12 average miles
I bought a 2006 Toyota Avalon with a new set of these tires put on by the dealer. At about 12,000 miles of use I went in to have the tires rotated and they were gone, HAD to be replaced, down to the wear marks.
I would NOT recommend these tires to anyone and would never buy another set.

Given 97% while driving a Subaru Liberty RX 2003 (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 20 average miles
I have had these tyres on my Subaru Liberty now for 20,000 klms.
I must admit that I was sceptical about them because I had never heard of them until my tyre dealer gave me the choices available for the size tyres for the car. There are not a lot of brands who do 205 50 16.
They were by far the least expensive at $105 each. The other brands start at $130.I have to say I can't fault them and would buy again without hesitation.

Given 10% while driving a Audi TT (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 500 easy going miles
I have recently bought a Audi TT 3.2 L car from a dealer. The car came with 4 new tyres and to be nest these tyres are terrible. Large chunks of the rubber have cut and split away from the tyres - large splits in the rubber have occurred and the rubber quality looks soft and not tough as you would expect on a tyre. I have driven the car for around 2 weeks and already I think that the tyres in my view need changing - I just cannot trust driving these tyres asI can see so many visible fault in the side wall s of all 4 tyres. In my opinion these tyres are dangerous and a pointless purchase.

3 months or 7000 miles proved a total waste of money it's back to part worms for me now
Very very disappointed after reading good reviews of these tyres

Given 80% while driving a SEAT Altea (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 2,000 spirited miles
I've got a set of Hifly 805's (225/45x17W XL) on my 2.0 TDI(remapped to 175BHP)and i'm well satisfied with the performance of these tyres.
I like to get a move on when it's safe to do so and i haven't had any cause to regret fitting them.
The're quieter than Kuhmo Ecsta KU39's that i had on previousy and the turn in seems much more precise with a slighty improved ride.
They handle the 395NM of torque ok in the higher gears, any tyre would have the ESP light flashing away in 2nd in the dry with a full dose of loud pedal!
Wet grip is just about as good as the Khumos too.

Ok,i suppose they won't stand up to the premium rubber if you're on a track but for any type of road use the're 95% as good in most catagories. (Don't know about the wear rate yet) but for £208 a set fully fitted as opposed to at least twice the amount for premium tyres they represent very good value for money.
I see a lot of bad reports about Chinese tyres and i suppose there are some that aren't up to much but these don't fall into that catagory.

To summarize, forget about brand snobbery and what name's on the sidewall, i've had both premium and budget tyres in my 40+ years of driving and i can recommend these if you're wanting to save a few quid. You won't regret it.

Given 44% while driving a MG ZR (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 6,000 easy going miles
A standard quality budget tyre. But other budget tyres I have used in the past have much better wear and I got only 6000 miles driving before they were on the legal limit and needed changing. I would only buy these tyres if you intend to sell the car in the short term or you are a very low milage driver

Given 97% while driving a Nissan Note 1.5 dci (185/50 R16) on a combination of roads for 600 spirited miles
To be honest I didn't really check these out before buying them but what a great choice!
Grip in the dry is very good but in the wet they are fantastic. Yes they will lose traction eventually but you have to go quite mental to do so.

I previously had continental tyres on the car & they honestly didn't grip as well as these, especially in the wet.

They also have very good integrated rim protection.

I have a set of Infinity tyres on my other car (BMW 5 series) which are quite bad in the wet so I'll be replacing them with these!
