Given 50% while driving a Ford Mondeo estate (205/55 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
Absolutely dreadful noise from these things. Unfortunately, they don't seem to want to wear out. I wish they would so I could replace them with something better, for the sake of my ear drums.

Given 51% while driving a Renault Scenic 1.6 2003 (205/55 R16 T) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
Bought these tyres having read the reviews and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. Fitted to all four wheels on a Renault Scenic 1.6 in September 2013, coverd 8,000 miles and the fronts are worn out. To have to replace them after 9 months is absolutely ridiculous, I don't have a sporty car, I don't drive particularly hard (which is difficult in a Scenic at the best of times)and would have expected at least another 4,000 miles from them. I will not be buying these again.

Given 87% while driving a MINI Cooper S (205/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
I'm not sure how anyone can put negative comments about these tires?
I have just changed from Pirelli Run Flats on my cooper S, over to these and the transformation of the car is stunning. Ok i don't have a final mileage figure for Tyre wear as I've only covered around 1000 miles but dry grip is as good as it gets (ON THE ROAD), and as for wet grip....I Think hitting a sudden hail storm at 120mph sold the tires to me because the car didn't even flinch whereas i know the Pirellis would have aquaplaned as they commonly did even when they had good tread on them. I don't do track days or hooning or whatever the kids call it these days, but i do drive the Cooper S as it should be driven and blow the cobwebs out of it! Ride quality is great considering the nature of the car, and these tyres are very progressive, giving good road feel as far as i have pushed them. Tyre noise is minimal and for anyone with a Mini Cooper S, i could not rate these highly enough, although you will obviously need a couple of tins of Tyreweld, just in case. The Pirellis used to shake your teeth out over rough roads but these are a far more comfortable and in my opinion safer tyre due to the progressive feel. Buy! Enjoy!

Given 91% while driving a Volkswagen Passat 1.9 TDI Sport Estate (B5.5) (225/35 R19 W) on mostly country roads for 10,000 average miles
The best tire I've ever tried.
When you think that you run to the limet when cornering, then you are wrong. even on poorly paved roads, these tires have maximum grip also with bad weather condition.

Don't think about it, just go for it and try them!

Given 69% while driving a Ford Focus (235/40 R18 W) on mostly country roads for 12,000 spirited miles
Great value tyre and a viable option to the big names. Lots of grip in both the dry & wet and very progressive. Even with the turbo kick of the Ecoboost engine wheelspin was never a problem. Wore very well with still 40% tread at 12k. However one issue and a big one!Noise as the tyres became more than 60% worn. Awful is the only way to describe the problem. Thought there was a major problem with the car which was normally very quiet and refined. Made driving the car a chore instead of a pleasure. Because of this I wouldn't buy again.

Given 83% while driving a Vauxhall Astra GLS 1.7 TDS (195/45 R16) on a combination of roads for 7,000 spirited miles
I changed to these tyres when the Toyo Proxes 4 tyres I had previously had worn out and what a difference it made to the car afterwards. I had always had a problem with the Toyo's particularly when it was wet but had been great in the dry. The MAZ1 though are in a different class, dry grip is excellent and wet grip is amazing in comparison, these tyres have brought back my confidence, even when cold these tyres have good grip, but then again in town driving I never push them. Motorway driving is a breeze and a pleasure, even when taking some of the tighter turns for example where the M53 joins the M56 and the M6 joins the M56, where it grips and handles great, even at higher speeds. Some say the noise from these tyres is something of a problem but I dont find this to be the case, they dont seem to be any noisier than other tyres I've had fitted, one thing I do find though is that these tyres are somewhat softer than expected and do wear alot quicker than I though, but that is a sacrefic to a performance tyre. I would deffinatly get these tyres again.

Given 50% while driving a Honda Civic Type S 2.2 i CDTi (225/40 R18) on mostly motorways for 15,000 spirited miles
These tyres are rather noisy and not very good in the wet, especially when it gets a bit colder (below 15C). The dry performance is good considering the price of the tyre and they were quieter than the Sportrac 3's I had on the car before... But once the tyres wore out I got a good deal on some Falken ZE-914's - the Falken's handle much better, especially in the wet and they are loads quieter. Considering the Falken's cost about the same, it goes to show that they really aren't worth it. Also, considering most of my mileage is motorways, I expected the MAZ-1's to last a little longer than they did.

Given 77% while driving a Fiat 500 Abarth (205/40 R17) on a combination of roads for 11 spirited miles
I bought these on a abarth 500 as wasn't happy with the pirellis fitted..
They have done 11k half racey half easy driving on a combination of country lanes / towns/ motorways and rough bumpy roads..
The level of grip is fantastic.. I have had serveral tyres with various cars and these come only 2nd to a set of Yokohama I had on a car before.. in wet, u can easy throw car into tight roundabout 300 degree angle in wet no problem, the factory Pirelli are always twitching which I couldnt believe from a major tyre supplier.. the dry grip is fantastic.. noise isn't great, it prob is a bit rumbley so no quite.
I think 11,000 on tyres fitted to a front wheel drive car with 135bhp isn't to bad as on a standard ka I believe front tyres lasted me 15,000 which doesn't have nowhere near the power the abarth has..
And 1 big thing is they very strong tyre..
I have hit at least 10-15 potholes in these sometimes hits so hard u think you may have dented wheel rim and yet not 1 puntache. Which has to be considered as famn good value for money especially as they was only £60 a tyre..
Would def recommend these especially boy-racer types as they grip amazing ..

Given 80% while driving a Vauxhall Astra (215/90 R17) on mostly country roads for 5,000 spirited miles
Just got a full set of these tyres after having hankook s2 for a couple of years..very very good tyres so hard to beat however, I'm really very pleased with them. Found dry grip great but these tyres come into there own in the wet..water displacement fantastic..no aqua-planing whatsoever (seen cars in front sliding and slipping all over the place) and I've driven on some very wet and flooded welsh country roads :-) I'd definitely buy these again..well done maxxis.

Given 86% while driving a Subaru Impreza WRX 2.0l Hatchback (255/50 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
Bought a set of these for my scooby in November last year, found myself grinning like a mad 'un all the way home. The grip is astounding in both wet and dry, particularly pleasing in the wet especially at over a tonne. When cornering at the limit on twisty country roads, once smoothly lost grip comes back swiftly in a controllable manner, thrilling rather than scaring me. In the few instances I've had to swerve while braking grip has been maintained and stopping distances are excellent. I've had no trouble driving in deep snow and ice, even in Sheffield with its hills I'd say it was great fun. A couple of points, they get noisier as they wear and they wear quite quickly, after roughly 10000miles I have around 4mm of tread left, although to be fair I've done a few donuts and drifts ;-) that said, they are a damn good tyre and I have just ordered some more.
