  • Relatively long braking distances
  • The Nokian Hakka Blue has excellent feel on wet surfaces where they have a high grip and stable control even in an emergency. In the dry the tyres also adequately react to the actions of the driver during abrupt manoeuvres. Low noise, smooth running and low rolling resistance.

2015 Auto Review Summer Tyre Test
5th of 9 tyres
  • High resistance to aquaplaning, good wet grip, comfortable
  • Dry grip
  • The Nokian has the second best aquaplaning resistance, and an all round strong wet performance, but isn't quite a match for the best in the dry. The tyre offers good comfort, shock resistance and rolling resistance

2014 Auto Review Summer Tyre Test - 205/55 R16
7th of 16 tyres
  • Good grip in the wet and dry
  • Low resistance to aquaplaning, low comfort levels
  • On our tests have already visited and "green" and "black" Nokian tyres - Hakka Black and Hakka Green . No results were outstanding, and now we’re testing the "blue" tyres. On wet roads, despite the new technology according to the manufacturer (polished tread grooves, a special composition of silica), the tyres were not able to compete with the leaders. Although the behavior of the car on the track is good, the car gently moves into sliding and is easy to control. The main thing - to avoid deep puddles: the Nokian lift early. On dry roads the reaction is fast and accurate, but the movement is accompanied by increased noise and vibration. This can be partly explained labeled XL - tyres designed for heavy loads and respectively have an enhanced, more rigid frame structure. Sadly there’s no softer option, with the entire line of Hakka Blue marked XL.

Top 3 Nokian Hakka Blue Reviews

Given 59% while driving a Ford Mondeo (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 4,000 spirited miles
Not good enough.

Given 67% while driving a Skoda Octavia (205/55 R16 W) on mostly country roads for 17 easy going miles
Worst Wear I've ever experienced , almost didn't make the MOT because of treadwear down at 1,7 mm.
This AFTER 27.000 km !
Learned from the MOT-man that Nokian have failed totally with the rubber mixture and that the "body" of the Tire is to weak and can't take the Centrifugal force, even if You'r driving with 2,6 kg pressure. He's driving with 3,0 kg ! But then it runs like a Tram !
Checked the info with my friend at home who owns the local tyre-dealer and he confirmed that the Nokian Rep. had said the same and that the Nokian Black was even worse 10.000 km's is not an un-common wear-distance for them !
They are in PANIC trying to find a solution (new rubber mixture and construction) but will not compensate the customers in any way !
Hopefully 2018 might have a compl. new Hakka Blue !
