Having read a lot of the reviews on here, it seems that there is a great deal of variation in the experience of reviewers. Some find them to last for ages, some find them to die very quickly, some find they grip fine others are terrified by them. It would seem that either reading these reviews is not a very reliable way to get information or the tyres themselves are very variable. I have no way of knowing which. I've had a pair of these on the front of my Fiat for about 16k miles - I believe they were original equipment and they suit the setup of the suspension. The ones I have were made in Turkey and I think are quite a soft compound. They haven't lasted terribly well, but grip quite well in the wet and dry and give way fairly progressively. I replaced a pair of Bridgestone B250s which I found to have far too little lateral stiffness and felt like I was on balloon tyres.

I am happy with the performance of the P6000 and would buy them again.

Average in the dry, shockingly bad in the wet. Fitted these to the rear of my people carrier and suffered rear end breakaway at moderate speed on roundabouts (Uniroyals on the front). Gave me a nasty shock on a mildly wet road when the back end suddenly stepped out of line.

Tyres have also gone out of shape causing a loud whining noise at 30-50 mph - diagnosed by tyre specialist with laser measuring equipment. Have had to replace them with 4.5mm of tread remaining. Would not buy these ever again.

Brilliant tyres lot's of grip don't know why they get bad reviews

rubish tyres..the esp and the abs was working all the time even in the straight especially in wet roads.here in greece the roads are not perfect but these tyres are not good even on good tarmac.these tyres was harder and harder as time passed.i changed them for my beloved conti sportcontact3 and changed my car..conti are perfect!

I have had these tyres on my Jaguar and my Senator (both 140 mph cars)and they have been excellent in wet and dry - no good in snow! I got about 20,000 miles on the rears and about 25,000 miles on the fronts.
I do not undertsnd the people who have had bad experience with these tyres.

Horrible tyres, do not buy! The only thing they have got going is that the asymnmetric profile is cosmetically nice to look at.
Never had tyres screech this much: accelerating at the traffic lights, going round corners on brick roads, roundabouts, under the driest of conditions. Downright terrifying on moist motorways and scary in the rain.
These were factory-fitted to my car, I decided to swap them after 8k miles or so. I did not want to expose my family to this road hazard.

Lots of understeer when fitted to the fronts. Moved to rears with Kumho KU31's on the front and they make a superb combination.

I've bought the P6000 3 years ago, to replace the original set of tyre (michelin). The difference in price was very sensible and decided to give it a go. For the first 7/8k no problem at all: less noisy compared to michelin, a pretty good balance both in the wet/dry condition; road feedback (probably because of the type of car) has always been an issue (it was the same with the Michelin but not at this level). Progressiveness is basically non existant as you don't know when you're about to loose grip and this is scary! Both the wife and I are really light on the accelerator but after just 19k I've had to replace tyre (27k with the michelin) and for the last 6k I've never listened to the radio because the noise from the tyre was simply brutal. Overall I wouldn't recommend this tyre and if you are looking for a cheap solutions I'm sure you can find something much better than this at a low price.

Not a great tyre. Dry grip is fair, although they do tend to screech easily if you take a corner at anything faster than a moderate speed. Wet grip is terrible, worse than newer budget tyres. Wear is only average (Lasted 12000 miles on the front). These were an ok tyre back in 1995 when they were launched, however tyre technology has moved on. You can get much better, more modern tyres now for less cash.

Some strange reading on here. I put 4 of these on our car, two years ago and have since completed nigh on 29k utterly reliable and unflapped miles in all weathers (including ice and snow in UK, Germany and Austria) at all speeds and carrying all loads. For instance, we've done Wiltshire to both Aberdeen and Innsbruck and back, laden with full tank, full top box, three adults and a carful of student crap - on autobahns and motorways and seriously not hanging about. And, now I need to replace them and it seems that P6000s aren't available locally - which is a pity because I would have readily fitted them again.

I like the P6000,I am on my 5th set on one car and 2nd on another,I dont know why they get poor reviews.

Had these fitted to replace the Michelins that came factory mounted. They were absolute rubbish! Grip in the wet was non-existent and after these were fitted, the car suffered from the worst tramlining I have ever encountered!
