Audi q3 Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV given 96% (235-50-19-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 12000 average miles
I’ve been using these tires on my SUV, and they have truly impressed me. Their handling is excellent on both dry and wet roads, which is essential for navigating the often damp Irish weather. They aren’t a sports tire, but as a touring tire, they are fantastic – smooth and quiet.

After 12,000 km, the tread has only worn down about 1 mm, so the wear looks good to me. In terms of comfort, they soak up bumps far better than the Premium Contact 6 I had previously. Aquaplaning resistance is also noticeably improved, giving me more confidence on rainy days. Overall, this is a quiet, comfortable tire, perfect for long drives. I’d absolutely buy them again!

Driving on mostly town for 3800 average miles
I bought these ‘Conti 7s’ as they were touted as the new ‘ants pants of tyres’ to replace my original from new car tyres - Hankooks, which beautifully wore for almost 52,000kms.
Kms now today 19th June - 55,800.
Set of four (4) XL SportContact 7 Continental tyres fitted 10th of April = $2380!
In 3,800kms, I’ve had 2 punctured tyres and a split beading on another requiring replacement!!
NEVER have I EVER had such crap tyres!!
Not cheap at $605 per tyre either!
If I could I’d replace them in a heartbeat.
Latest puncture fixed today.
I’m driving no where different to where I have in the life of this car and driving style is no different.
So you know - I’m a female driver in my early 50s.
I love driving and my car, but am now honestly; literally paranoid driving on these Conti 7 tyres - If I drive out tomorrow, what are my chances of getting home without ANOTHER puncture!?
Do yourself a favor- DONT waste your money on SportContact 7 Continentals!

Writing about the Bridgestone Alenza 001 given 86% (235-50-19-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 22000 average miles
Alenza 001 tires are well-made, offering good performance in grip and handling, but they are noisy, and seem to wear out quickly

Very very good tyre, sportly but comfortable too.
Excellent handling both in dry and wet, precise steering and road feedback.
They go in temperature immediately and let enjoy the driving experience.
Very recommended

Driving on mostly country roads for 4000 spirited miles
Didn't really live up to the hype. Loads of wheelspin in my 2.0TFSI Q3, not confidence inspiring in the wet either, and no feel. Considering the Q3 is quattro that says a lot. Highly disapointed.
Thankfully just traded in the Q3 for an A6 Avant that comes with my favourite tires, Potenza RE003 Bridgestones.

Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 average miles
Previously used Falken 310 and Pirelli PZ4. Read from previous reviews the downsides are mainly increased noise and less comfort. However, in my experience after driving with these for almost half year, and I am a someone who prefers comfort and quietness rather than all out handling, I find the noise level very liveable, hardly disturbing. And the comfort is reasonably good. To be honest, I'm not quite bothered. The performance, Wow!. Amazingly good. Esp on dry. Immediately felt after changing. The car feels more upright, less prone to lean on doing the bends and very planted on the roads. Very confidence inspiring! And the road feedback is much improved surprisingly, given the Audi has very light steering. Wet performance is also very good. I don't drive crazy fast but the difference is obvious, less ABS activation esp in wet car parks. All in all, a really good tyre and I'd happily recommend it. However, there's now the CPC 7, looks like I have to try that next!

Driving on mostly town for 500 average miles
My previous car had Goodyear Eagle F1s all round, for a Passat with a 3.2VR6 donk up front, VW 4Motion and soft suspension, she handled exceptionally well, she hooked up and went, I could throw her into a corner in the wet and she would stick, complete faith in the combo. My new car, which unfortunately the old owner had replaced the tires before selling with the HT RV08, which on initial driving, thought were ok for a brand I'd not heard of before. However yesterday, in my Q3 Quattro 2.0TFSI, dry weather, brisk but not pedal to the metal pull away at the lights, it chirped and struggled for grip. Today, in the wet, zero confidence, slippery on corners, 4 wheel slide when pulling away in traffic with no beans. Personally, I will be replacing these tyres were performance rubber, these Rovelo are awful, down there with some old Supercats. These types of tyres should not be allowed on the road. But it does show the reason why some people drive so slow in the wet if this is the quality of rubber fitted to so many cars out there. I would say avoid at all costs, it may be cheaper up front, but its not worth it if you have to tip toe every where.

Driving on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
It is a sensational tire... Excellent performance in both dry and wet... In curve the vehicle goes on rails, it is noted that they have improved the flank with respect to the previous Asymmetric 2 and 3... They have a more energetic braking... Previously I was riding a PZero and with these new GY I noticed a lot of improvement in terms of rolling noise.

Driving on a combination of roads for 200 average miles
I have just diagnosed a noise like a faulty wheel bearing from my recently purchased Audi Q3 was in fact coming from one of its P Zero tyres. After much internet searching I decided to try these Landsail UHP tyres based on great reviews and affordability.SO glad I made the choice;the car is much more quieter and relaxing to drive on ALL roads.Turn in,grip and handling seem to be just as good as the P Zeros when I have been pressing on at speed in my big Audi.Hopefully they will be good in the Scottish winter conditions as other people have mentioned. Also no tears if I happen to destroy one accidently.Excellent!
