I have also got a pair of 225/40/18’s on the front. These tyres get a lot of stick. They are runflats and with any run flat they are going to be a tad noisy. These tyres have been on the car since new and covered 32k miles with 2-2-3mm of tread left (lot of motorway miles). Dry grip fantastic on a decent surface. If you go over bumps and the likes especially at speed you will have your back tested. Pot holes will give you a scare too. They are runflats though and all runflats I have owned over the years have the same comfort level. (I haven’t tried the driveguard ones yet as they only have specific sizes). In the right conditions though they are fantastic if your messing with 200bhp plus. On a dry day I wouldn’t hesitate to launch the car around a tight bend at speed as these things stick to the road well. These tyres are 3 years old too and no puncture issues or damage. I have a new set going on the car next week.

Driving on mostly country roads for 6000 average miles
These are very good for a runflat tyre, good dry and wet road holding and progressive break away, these just wear far far to fast I got no less than 6k miles from them and that’s Mainly my wife driving to shops and doing short runs! Will be paying bit more for the Michelin PS3 ZP next time for better wet performance and far more longevity.

Fantastic tyres with amazing wet grip, still have 3.3mm of tread lft wih 23000 miles on the tyres. used on a 125D 225/45R18 front and 245/40R18 rears.

I was recommended these by a friend who was a long time Conti SC3 user and he felt these were at least as good as those but cheaper and with better wear.

I've only done 1500 miles on them but so far I'm happy I took his advice.

The lateral grip in both wet and dry are of the high standard you'd expect from a major manufacturers flagship product. The two areas which I've been most impressed with are braking and handling. My car has the optional Brembo calipers and it can really shed speed quickly with these tyres (albeit only in the dry at least so far). The general handling of the car is also much improved, it feels much more stable,predictable and progressive just generally much nicer to drive.

The tyres felt very light to me when delivered. I suspect theres a substantial weight saving per corner when compared to the previous run flats, which might explain a lot.

They also look good when mounted- if thats your thing - the sidewall is quite flush with the rim but just look out for those kerbs!

Highly recommended.

Comfort and noise aren't too bad though still not quite on par with a conventional tyre.
Dry grip is good but this deteriorates noticeably in the wet with a lack of front end grip in particular. Feedback and steering feel are both pretty average.
Too early to tell on wear yet but they look to be very durable - not sure if thats a good or bad thing.
Overall an improvement on previous generation Bridgestone RFTs but still no match for conventional rubber.
Will be replacing all 4 tyres with non RFT Goodyears or similar when the rears need changing.

Driving on a combination of roads for 7250 spirited miles
Generation 3 RFT Tyres fitted to my new BMW 125D - 218bhp & 450nm torque. Very good grip in both dry and wet, the wet grip on these tyres are outstanding allowing me to push much harder on corners. Used on both motorway & country roads. Currently have 6.8mm remaining on the rear with 7250 miles covered indicating around 15-18k before needing to be replaced! Very Impressive tyre and will definately be buying again!
