BMW 328i Coupe Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Yokohama Advan Sport V105 given 94% (225-45-18-)
Driving on for 0 miles
I had PS4 for the last 2 years and always wanted to try a flagship tyre from Japan .... came across Yokohama Advan Sport V105S. Price wise , is pretty attractive to start with . After initial run in , the tyre actually offer very good dry and wet grip around tight corners . One thing I like about the tyre is it still offer good ride comfort despite able to satisfied a spirited driver.

Driving on for 3000 miles
I bought this tires set for my E36 328i and mainly used this tires on track, sometimes daily commute to work if I feel lucky ;) So far, this tires is simple excellent on the track. Great feedback, turn in sharp. It will tell you once it is at its limit. Even if you slightly oversteer, it will grip back as long as you have are sensitive on gas pedal. I managed to cut down 3 seconds from 47s to 44s on one of the local track and around 5s from 1.31s to 1.26s on another local track (worth to mention that also my previous tires is just summer performance tires RE003 - but it is still a really good one). Once it is at the right temperature, it grips like shit on toilet. One more thing I really like from this tires is that it only take 1 2 turns to warm up, so you can go pretty much all in right from the beginning. My car is 1300kg so normally I start at 28 psi cold and usually ends up at around 34-35 psi.

Daily drive, it is super noisy. But it is semi-slick so you can't complain much about it. Tires make the whole car feels heavy - yes this tires is super heavy.

Also, I like the tread pattern design.

Driving on a combination of roads for 7000 spirited miles
I heard nothing but good review about RE003 so I did give it a try on my E36 328i. I use it mixing between daily driven and track days (like 1 2 track days per month). I have used it for about 20.000km and still really good. Overall, grip in the dry and road feedback is really good. Easy to predict before it lost its grip. Wet performance is also really good, no surprise moments so far. I don't really care about road noise so it is not a really big problem to me. Feel like it is similar to Toyo T1R, a bit quieter than AD08R. Would definitely buy it again if I still use my car for daily and track.

Driving on mostly town for 5000 spirited miles
Bought these 225/45R17 on my BMW 328ci e46. Its european winter tyre, so don't expect much on snow and ice, expecially if you have rear wheel drive, but perfect for city and roadway. Comfortable, not noisy, good handling, low price.Drove ~5000km and i don't see any wear (;

Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
Absolutely superb, these are a million miles better than £10-20 cheaper options

Dry and wet grip are very very good, I have used these on track and they don't come a far off the grip I get from Toyo Proxes R888 semi-slicks on the same car.

Road feeling is superb, they are quiet and you know all the time whats happening

Driving on mostly country roads for 10000 spirited miles
I acquired a set of these when i purchased my car, i would sat that they are just about borderline ok in a straight line in the summer. A touch of rain and these will quite happily send you sideways, back kicks out with a TINY dab of throttle around a corner. You are always on the limit. I changed these for Avon zv5 on the front, and then full set continental contisport5 on my other alloys, both of which made a world of difference and give much more confidence! Would not recommend these nagkangs to anyone

BUYER BEWARE THESE TYRES ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR UK ROADS

I have used these tyres for 3 winters now and while these tyres provide excellent grip in snow/ice/water and allowed my rear wheel drive BMW to move in winter so far I have had to replace 3 of them due to sidewall damage. These tyres are NOT suitable for the UK's pot hole infested 3rd world road infrastructure. Next winter I will be purchasing a more robust brand of tyre, probably Skandinavian or German.

Very poor tyre robustness from Falken.

Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
Bought these tyres after reading a review in a BMW magazine as a cheap alternative to the more expensive top brands and have not been disappointed. Dry grip is great and I can't fault Wet grip either. I have done around 15000 miles over 5 years on these tyres and all four tyres have over 3.5mm left on them. I have not driven the car on any other tyre so not sure on how they compare to the top brands. The only issue I have had is cracks appearing between the treads over the last year, but I was told by the MOT test technician that a few of the top brands are prone to this problem as well and that the tyres are still safe to drive on.

Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
Have these on my BMW 328I, good grip all round, wet grip allows enough slip to have a bit of fun but never lets you get out of control. Dry grip good. Recommend for RWD cars these on the rears but Falken 452's on the fronts. Can see why drifters love these tyres so much, good feedback and progressiveness, would buy again. Wear is very good as also. Even with spirited driving they seem to have very little wear considering.

Great Semi for track and road use.
Wears the shoulders rather quick somehow.
Excellent wet weather performance when compared to other track tyres.

Driving on a combination of roads for 100 spirited miles
Just fitted the Uniroyal Rainsport 2's to front wheel's of my 328Ci bmw and so far they feel great, it's been snowy and slushy round here last few day's and they coped well, only tried them as i had them fitted to my parents Ford Fiesta early last year, and even in heavy rain they felt sure footed, plus they were a fair amount cheaper than the Pilot Sport 2's that i've been used to, not sure what the wear rate will be on my much heavier car.
