BMW E90 320d Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Goodyear EfficientGrip given 94% (205-55-16-)

Sorry I can't give a full review but I've just changed my front from Michelin Energy Saver (down to 3mm) to the Goodyear Efficient Grip & they seemed to have transformed the drive. The Michelin seemed a soft rubber compound & so far I'm impressed with a maiden drive to the local airport & back. Well done Goodyear (fingers crossed) P.s equally great on fuel as the Michelin Energy tyres were ;-)

wear ok but no grip at all in the wet , i would not fancy an emergency braking situation with them, they have loads of thread left but they scare the life out of me in the wet i will be getting rid ASAP
truely awful tyres

Writing about the Vredestein Wintrac 4 Extreme given 86% (225-45-17-H)
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 spirited miles
Fitted these to my rear wheel drive car as winter tyres. They are quiet and comfortable. Great grip in cold wet conditions (under 7 degrees) and great grip in snow on compacted ice like found on numerous non-gritted side roads. I would recommend to buy as cheaper than Continental and Michelin winter tyres but just as good in my opinion. The only downside is they are not as good as summer tyres to drive in warmer conditions - I tried and the car not as smooth - but - when cold they retain rubber softness and feel great - look good to. I did lots of prior research then purchased so hope this review helps.

I had to cover a few hundred miles to work straight after getting these fitted. For some reason sat nav decided to take me the scenic route. What a test! I was blasting round them B roads like i've never been able to before! The Goodyears soaked up the road like nothing i've ever expericed! I had Bridgestone S-03's before sticking on the Goodyears (after reading the user reviews). Totally Transformed the car! I cannot believe the difference! The steering is lighter, much much more precise and NO tram-lining at all! (had terrible tram-lining with the S-03) they soak up the road like a sponge (S-03's crashed over bad roads) and are super quiet! Buy Buy Buy!

Writing about the Bridgestone Potenza s03 given 57% (245-35-19-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 average miles
These tyres came fitted to a set of AC Schniters i bought and had only covered a few thousand miles max before i got them. When pushed hard in the dry they never gave me any trouble, and i could rely on them in sticky situations. It was difficult to know how 'on the limit' you were. In the wet the fronts done well under braking, but the rears were always keen to try and break away under acceleration. I had terrible tram-lining with these tyres, terrible! The make up of the tyres must be very hard, not a comfortable ride (grit your teeth when you spot a pot hole) and not the quietest tyres but not bad. Also made the steering feel heavy and a bit 'dead'. All in all, a decent tread, but dated by todays tyre making technology.

Writing about the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Run Flat given 56% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on mostly country roads for 18000 easy going miles
Run flats fitted on the front - very uneven wear with very high wear on outside edge, terrible tramlining and uncomfortable. OK its an MSport but its on 17 rims so the profiles are not silly. Tyres actually went on for a few thousant males more as the middle tread had plenty left. Changed to Continental sport contact 2 RF and found more comfortable nad less tramlining. Still look like they are wearing on the outside edge. The rear tyres (255x40 x170 are still going ok after 32k miles with 3mm tread but wet weather (and snow) grip is almost zero so will have to go.

Writing about the Michelin Primacy HP given 0% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 50 average miles
Since I purchased my car 3 years ago, I have been so disappointed with the awful tramlining that occurs. The car originally had Bridgestone runflats. I then purchased Pirelli Europhina runflats which lasted about 20k before they wore unevenly on the front outside edges. They too were pretty awful and tramlined all the time, especially at low speed. I was seriously considering ditching the run flats in favour of standard tyres but as I drive my grandchildren around a lot, decided to stick with the run flat option for safety reasons. So what to replace the Pirelli's? I did a lot of reading and finally opted for the Michelin Primacy runflats. Boy am I glad I did. Although I have only had them a day so really too early to give a full report, I can say that it is like having a new car. No tramlining at all on areas of road that I use frequently and which previously caused all sorts of problems with the steering. Hope that this experience continues and that the tramling and poor steering is a thing of the past.

Writing about the Vredestein Quatrac 3 given 20% (205-55-16-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1500 spirited miles
The tyres were totally unacceptable!! I put them as All Weather ones (RunFlat) but the're totally useless, dangerous too. I slided out of the road in a turn with 60Mph, in a very good German Road. I used them 1 month only and urged to get rid of them ASAP.

Never again use Vredestein ones.....

Writing about the Continental Premium Contact 2 given 80% (205-55-16-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
The tyres were RunFlat ones, good in handling both in dry & wet roads plus a very reasonable tyre wear.

If I didn't change my alloys to bigger ones, I would have put them again....
